We are in chiangrai right now and it seems to have recovered from the pandemic. But still not comparable to the crowd during our visit in 2020. Now it is ideal to visit this beautiful city and it’s surroundings !!! We also like the ideal climate here.

Hi gabi I went to Chiang ria last year the big budda you can go side to the escalator and go to the top of the Buddha head the carvings inside or amazing and the view from the top is breath taken check out PAI one of the cheapest places in Thailand

Hi Gabi, if you are still in Chiang Rai, you should check the Bechegu Roaster. I have been living here for 5 years, I found this place has the best coffee I have ever tried. It is cheap with highest quality.
And there is the Walking Street every Saturday. It is so good. You should go there.

I have been to Thailand in 2012, 2015 and 2017 where I will explain a few:
I love Thailand food namely Kalamae, Tod Man Pla, Tom Yam, Pad Thai, Khao Tom, Som Tam, Khao Pad, Tom Kha Kai, Gai Med Ma Moung, Gae Daeng, Khao Soi, Massaman, Khanom Chin Nam Ya, Guay Teow Rhua and Pad Phuk Tong.
I have visited tourist attractions in Thailand, namely Lumpini, Kho Phi Phi, Phu Thok, Ayutthaya, Khao Yai, Railay, Phuket, Kho Samui, Kho Pha Ngan, Pha Nga Bay, Khao Sok, Wat Mahathat, Phrom Thep, Erawan, Mu Ko Ang Thong, Krabi, Ko Lipe, Karon, Ko Samet, Nang Yuan, Maya Bay and Doi Inthanon.
For me personally, visiting Thailand in total scores 9.0/10 (Grade A+ very wow). Just try asking a Thailand person, is it true that what I have informed you is actually in Thailand? Yes.
You are eating almost non spicy thai food , i am 100% sure you never eat northeast " esan" food, because it's not in your list any
My daughter and family live here. Have been many times. Enjoy our times in Chiang Rai.

Nice Video. I was in Chiang Rai for a day trip in 2014. I am planning a return to Chiang Rai next year for Songkran (2024). I have been retired in the USA for over 13 years now, so I have flexibility with my travel plans. Each visit abroad I tend to spend several month, so I get a Thai Visa in Chicago, and then opt to extend my stay an additional month for a total of 90 days. One thing I do is rent a short time apartment (cost effective), I can stay a month in a apartment for the same cost as a week in a hotel (in some case the rooms offered are actually hotels). The drawback to this is that I have to pay monthly for water and Utilities. I can usually endure the heat except for extreme hot days. I get around the AC issue buy finding a room with a fan as well as AC, and only using the AC in short burst with the fan for circulation. With the exception of AC, the monthly stay in an apartment/condo is much cheaper than a weekly stay in a Hotel. My overall plan is to divide my time in Thailand between Chiang Rai and Udon Thani.

For normal tourist we are now getting back to traveling so we want to go to Bangkok pattaya Phuket. Maybe next year or the year after Chang Mai and Chang rai.

Chiangrai has always been my prefered destination compared to Chiangmai cause the road there seems wider not as cramped as in CM.

Years ago when I was in Chiang Rai I had the best burger ever. The place was downtown and they cooked out of a VW mini-van. I don't know the name unfortunately but they had amazing burgers!

Hi,just joined your channel,been to chiang rai twice before but never been to the large white Buddha before,the blue temple was not built then so going to visit both of them in February 2023 on our month long trip around,hope to see more tourist’s then?

I was there a couple of weeks ago in chiang rai and the night market was actually pretty busy, all tables was occupied at the restaurant, this was end of november. Drive safe 😀

My thoughts on Chang Rai are that lots of tourists only do a day trip from Chang Mai to look at all the temples and don't stay there ✌️PS the temples are awesome too!

I was at the White Temple in January 2020 and the crowds were tremendous, it took 25 minutes to get inside of the first temple. 👍

To be honest, in my humble personal opinion, all tourist spots in Thailand are pure tourist traps and even if they have an artistic value, that value is overwhelmed by the crowds and the fear of just being used by the system. In 2015, during my Golden Triangle motorcycle trip, I tried to visit the White Temple but it was even impossible to park my motorcycle, imagine entering the temple! There were hundreds of buses parked and the police treated people like sheep to be let into the stable! :-)) So I gave up and resumed my journey northbound. I have definitely decided not to visit any place where you have to pay for a ticket, not for the money. Luckily I can rely on you, Gabi... you allows me to visit these places comfortably lying on my sofa ... :-))). Thanks Gabi
I'd never think to stay the night in Chiang Rai. I would just take the day tour from Chiang Mai instead. I thin that's the common plan for most tourists, I guess.
