    Nice job. Examples of what it looks like on the sharee (is that a word?) end would be useful. I share with my parents generation and none of them have smart phones, so I usually have to blindly walk them through things like this while on the phone. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together.

If you don't go the shared album route and use the "share" button and then send it to someones google account you'll have a chat box with all of the photos you want to share. Underneath at the bottom of all of the photos you'll see a "save to my google photos" option. Thank you for putting together this video. The main thing I'm looking for is basically how to transfer/copy an entire album, including the album definition, from one Google account to another. With sharing it's not clear to me if a physical copy of the photos are made to the new/second/target Google account or just reference/pointer/link to the original album and photos. In other words, once the Google album and photos have been shared with another account, can I delete the original album and photos without it affecting the new/second/target Google account that "hopefully" now has its own copy of the album and photos?
    Basically, can Google albums, including the album definition, be physically copied to another account and not be affected if the album and photos in the original/source account are deleted? Thanks!

    • @marblejarchannel
      @marblejarchannel  Před rokem +1

      Hi, Chuck. My understanding is that by sharing, you only get a reference or pointer to the photos. You then need to choose download those photos. I also think that if the primary account is deleted, the photos will also disappear unless they are downloaded and added to the shared person’s regular album. I hope that helps although probably not what you wanted to hear. Let us know if you discover something different!

My Wife and I use Google photos shared album to drop pictures to one another as they maintain quality better than Whatsapp. However recently any photo I have taken now appears in her photos and not just the ones I have intentionally moved into our shared album. Well done and answered a number of questions for me. Here's a question I've not been able to find an answer to. Once or twice a day I receive an automatically created Google album. (So far, it's not an annoyance.) The albums are usually created around recent photos or people. Whenever I've tried to share that album, it only shares the first photo. Do you have any instructions on how to share the Google created album?

    • @marblejarchannel
      @marblejarchannel  Před rokem

      Hi, Larry -- I'm not entirely sure what you are seeing, but if you are talking about the "memories" that Google Photos offers, in order to share those, you would have to select the photos that they choose based on their algorithm, create an album, and then share it. Let me know if that answers your question!

    Hi, nicely done. "Sharing" gets harder by the minute, especially if your recipient has no interest in "joining" anything. My question: Do you know if photos are shared in full resolution (300 dpi for JPEGs) or are they downgraded to lesser dpi resolution, as is the case with SmugMug. (Dropbox currently is the only service I know of that doesn't degrade resolution, but they are making it increasing difficult to "share" without becoming a Dropbox client. @@marblejarchannel should I allow
      “Comments and like “ on? And is it possible to send a link that includes all albums in one link?

      @@LubaLuba1 Sure, you can allow comments and like - that just lets people comment on your photos. I haven’t found a way to share multiple albums with one link. Hope that helps!

      They shouldn’t be able to see any of your photos unless you share them in the album that you joined.

    A friend used my phone to make a video. I sent it to them through Google Photos. If I delete it from the app will they still have it?

    You talked to fast and it wasn't clear where the various things on phone were. I suppose I will have to watch more times or video to understand how to do this.

      Hi, there! I do have a tendency to speak quickly unfortunately. I did want to give you some options: 1) you can slow down the speed of the video by hitting the three dots in the upper right hand corner, then Playback Speed, then choosing a slower speed and 2) I actually have scripts for all of my videos up at my website at www.marblejar.net. You can search that site for the script you are looking for, which may help to go back or review material. Thanks for the comment and I hope those options help!

      Hi, Sharon. I do tend to talk fast! If it helps - you can slow down most CZcams videos by hitting the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and then Playback Speed. Also, all of my video scripts are online at my website, www.marble jar.net. Here is the script if it is helpful: www.marblejar.net/2021/01/understand-sharing-in-google-photos.html. Thanks for the comment!

    My brain can't keep up with your fast speech? Me being older probably has something to do with that? Thanks anyway
