Looking forward to getting a copy from their latest KS, Honey Buzz: Fall Flavors. Debating whether to get a retail copy to play early versus waiting for fulfillment.
ahhh yes!! I totally backed this one before knowing how the base game played-and so glad that the base was fantastic! I think there's still a lot of content in the base game with all the diff contests and starting player organizations so maybe waiting for fulfillment will be worthwhile!
I've only watched the first 10 seconds so far but I had to go rewatch it a few times because that was really cool! (I assume the rest of the video will be awesome too)
Played it once. Not convinced yet. Need to play it 2 more times or something. But it looks incredible and there are some interesting choices. Creature comforts ??? A family weight worker placement. Nice shots and review btw👌
So I picked this up at GenCon and had one design gripe - Why are the pollens different colors? I've taught the game twice, and this threw the new players off both times. It's such a minor thing, but that kind of detail makes a difference. That said, it is a really good game, and has become pretty competitive in our house. I love the balance in the strategies (auction vs orders vs challenges)
I ended up loving this game WAY more than I expected. Thought it was just going to be pretty, but there is an actually great game here. My main complaint is that the deluxe pollen tokens look like loafs of bread. I really wish I just had the standard pollen tokens. However.. if that is all I can complain about.. I think that is a win.
YES! I always try to be a little skeptical now with production value, but geeze this one delivered for sure! hahaha HEY now I can't unsee them as bread now too 😭 It did take me a while to realize the deluxe were backpacks!
@@TimChuon Sorry! I wish I had never seen my buddy's standard version.. because I absolutely loved his pollen tokens so much more. Granted.. I am very happy with my edition otherwise.
Based on your math, would that not be a 4.5? You have 10 taken away from one category 10 from another and 30 from the last which amounts to 50 out of 500 potential. That leaves 450.
Hive just talked myself out of getting this game literally a few days ago and as luck would hive it, you come out with this beeutiful review video. Would you beelieve it, I want it again.
Its an economic game. That's just what you sign up for. Although, with the different goals and them being worth quite a lot actually. You really have different strategies as go. Not to mention that occurring naturally as spots get taken and the market get adjusted. On a macro level yes. But if you need games to be different on a macro level every time you play, you just fundamentally don't enjoy replaying games and should just stick to buying new cheap ones instead.
For the last 70 percent, does it mean it doesn't scale that well at higher player counts. Perhaps rating of x out of 5 for each area would be easier to understand than percentages. Also, I don't believe you have covered great wall? It's a great looking worker placement game
ah shoot, you're right! this would definitely clear things up-let me try to animate this into the next review! Thanks for the tip Ylei! ohhhh I haven't covered great wall yet but I did back the second ed so hopefully it comes in soon! I am dying to play that game!
This is a very thoughtful review excellently produced. Thank you.
thank you Joe!! Trying to up my analyses and production value with each video, and this is so reassuring!
Such a fun game! 🥰🐝 have you tried it solo Tim?
it IS!!! I haven't tried it solo only bc I like more aggressive AI's to play solo haha but did you enjoy it solo?! should I try it??
I love Honey Buzz, it is definitely in my top 5 favorite games. Also I have to agree, to get the most of the game you need a higher player count.
transitions on POINT!!!! Love this game and also you!!
hahah THANK YOU! it's the little things haha love you friends!!!
Thanks for the beautifully shot and well-thought out review. So glad you loved the game. :)

You match the theme of the games so well it seems like the designers made the game for you to review
that is the highest compliment! How fun would that be though if I just pitched an idea and out pops a game with that exact theme 😭 thank you friend!

Thank you Ambie!! I'm enjoying transitions way too much and gotta let those ideas flesh out while they're flowing! hahah glad you enjoyed it!

Love it! I've been wanting to try this for a while but wasn't sure if I was just hungry to eat those components...
omg right?! those jellies look like gummy bears!
Oohhhhh damn you....my tastes align with yours and I passed on this one lol

I'M SORRY! hahah it's really worth a shot though-such a fun, thematic game!
Have you found replay value to be an issue? Other reviews I've seen mention it starts feeling very much the same each playthrough.
