I haven't had Lou Malnati's pizza for over 5 years since I moved from the Chicago area and I literally still have dreams about eating it.

I ordered Malnati's because of this video and it is quite exceptional. I'm honored to support this business.
Even the frozen style they ship out was some of the best pizza I've ever had. Really good crispy crust all the way around but still somehow has that deep dish consistency where it meets the fresh and high quality mozzarella. The sauce is plentiful and flavorful, not too complex and simple enough to meet all flavor palates. Robust freshly ripened roma tomatoes would be my guess with a moderate reduction profile. I can't quite remember the exact flavor profile but my mouth is watering reminiscing the pizza. The pepperoni version was great too, and not overly greasy. I can't imagine how good a fresh pizza is.

I'm so blessed to live in Chicago. I can get this most delicious pizza anytime I want. You can never get tired of it. You can literally taste the freshness of each ingredient. There's no pizza like it.

I'm going crazy here just looking at the pizza! Moving to Arizona later this year and looking forward to have Lou Malnatis fresh as much as I can! I grew up in Chicago live now in Florida. the frozen pizzas are good but the fresh pies are out of this world! absolutely no comparison.
Tried Malnatis deep dish after a Cubs game several years ago. My first visit to Wrigley Field was very enjoyable. I like to try all styles of pie. The Pizza was wonderful and I took most of it back home to Indiana. 😋

Lou is my favorite of all the big name deep dish pizza's in Chicago, the crust is nice and not too much, not greasy and some deep dishes are just too much Malnati has the right proportions down. This from a thin crust East Coast guy and if they ship might have to help them out

Visiting Chicago again this December... last time I went to Giordano's which was fantastic (imho) but now I'm really split on whether to try Lou Malnati's or Pequod's, since lots of people say those are both THE top places to try and they both have something that makes em different (sausage disk vs caramelized crust).
getting to this comment late (hope you enjoyed visiting!) but i'd say pequods first bc you can get the frozen pizzas shipped from lous! and pequods is just glorious. (they're both so good but if i had to pick bc i was visiting... pequods.)
@@cam9028 I ended up trying Lou Malnati's last time I visited and it was really good! The pizza hit the spot and the service was wonderful. But honestly I tried Giordano's again afterwards and I just felt like it was better... especially in terms of the toppings. I'll def try Pequod's next time I visit!

This Pizza recipe has been around since 1943 and it the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.
Lou Mulnattis is the king of pizza, I didn't like it at first, but my dad kept bringing it home, and after about the 4th time I just loved it, among other things how on earth the solid tomatos don't have a wierd texture, the bitterness of the sauce, it's just the king of pizza.
Watching this while waiting for one of the frozen sausage pizzas to cook is making me more hungry and excited to have their pizza for the first time
Luckily I moved to Phoenix where Lou’s has capitalized on the Chicago roots of this town and I couldn’t feel more at home because of that.
We’ve only eaten out once since February and our choice early May was Lou Malnati’s...Carol Stream location! I grew up eating UNO’s but I love my Lou’s. 🥰🥰🥰

That's so sweet that they help struggling employees, especially when they could be in their darkest hour from pain and suffering and loss. We need more businesses like that. Businesses that give back to their community. Love to see it. And though I'll never be able to try one of their pizzas due to gluten and lactose intolerance from IBS, I still wish them well as the pandemic seems to be winding down right now. I hope it continues to slow to at least a crawl that just requires yearly vaccination, like the flu. And I hope I didn't jinx it, and it skyrockets again.

For anyone in LA, people say that Hollywood Pies is similar in taste to Luminati's, so that would be a good alternative if you want that epic Chicago deep dish taste.

As a Chicagoan I can say that the og Gino’s east on Michigan ave is the BEST pizza in chi town
Only at 19 seconds but just from the cross section in the beginning and seeing all of the soft sausage in the middle all I can feel from that scene is wanting the Crunchy/caramelized bits that I love from ground sausage. I have never tasted this pizza but I think the crispy parts of the crust would be accented good by topping the pizza with some crispy sausage on top

Also keep in mind that if you do have them deliver you a pizza, they give you two options cut or uncut, which they don't recommend to you, that you to hav them cut the pizza like how they would if you dine in.
