The kingdom of Cambodia is one of three nations within Indochina. A fertile country with a friendly population that appears to have forgotten its recent dramatic history that comprised French colonial times, Vietnamese occupation and the cruel rule of the Khmer Rouge.The former palaces of the gods have now been transformed into tourist attractions and regal splendour and shining pagodas indicate that a new era has begun. Phnom Penh is the reawakened capital of Cambodia and former Land of the Khmer. It is a wonderful city with all the charm of a bygone age. During the second half of the nineteenth century Phnom Penh became a French colonial town with wide streets, shops, government buildings, hotels and villas all in colonial style. Within its park-like surroundings the Temple Of The Blooming Lotus Blossom features perfect harmony with nature. The Temples of Angkor are the remains of various religious buildings that were built by more then ten kings of the Khmer realm between the seventh and sixteenth centuries A.D. The Ta Prohm Monastery was built in 1186 in honour of the king’s mother and was the centre of the health care for the entire country. Twenty kilometres north east of Angkor Thom are the remains of the ancient sanctuary of Bantey Srei, also known as, The Women’s Citadel. To many visitors to Cambodia this unique and atmospheric temple site is the most impressive of all the country’s historic monuments. Cambodia is a country that is slowly awakening with a population that is willing to forget its past and look optimistically into a bright new future. After thirty years of strife and deprivation this south Asian jungle realm is today a fine tourist destination that is friendly, natural and unspoiled.

It is a beautiful country, and I must say. I was born in Cambodia,and left the country when I was 10 years old after Khmer Rug and Vietnam invasion. I have returned back to my native country 2 to 3 times a year for the last 20 years. I love visiting Cambodia because of Great Angkor and beautiful beaches. The Khmer foods is very good and cheap. Because Cambodia has been improved of road and airports; making transportation very easy. You can fly from USA direct flight the state to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Kam Pot.
It is not all about Cambodia, you have missed many wonders of this beautiful country. They are our pristine beaches and island of Sihanouk Ville, coastal town of Kampot and Kep, Battembong heritage, Cardamon mountain, Bokor hill station, Sambor prei kuk pre-angkor temple complex, Preah vihear, Yeak Loum volcano lake, our rain forest in Mondol Kiri and ratanakiri, Mekong dolphine, Lbak koun water fall on the Mekong etc...

Excellent video! Been to this lovely country a couple of times. Angkor is unforgettable, and the capital city is one of my fav's in Asia. Go there soon as the country is rapidly developing and consequently may lose some of its charms to mass tourism.
Don’t forget to visit Bokor hill, kep, kampot, koh kong, koh Rong island, ostress beach, cheurteal beach, Tonle sap river, Mekong river tour in Phnom Penh, and bonteay Srey village in Siem reap and Preah Vihea world heritage.

I went to visited Cambodia in last May 2014 for my first time. It was so hot there, I had been so sweaty and I drink too much water. I get to see Angkor Wat temple, it was so huge. I saw elephants and cows but I didn't see monkeys there. I went to a beach. We slept different hotels. I like Pyramid hotel, it has 5 level floors, I had a burger at Pyramid hotel, I Look Out At The Building On The Fifth Floor With No Windows OR Walls Up, Just Outer Place. I had eat at some restaurants. After I Came Back From Cambodia, I Showed Pictures To My Teachers, They Said, "Those are beautiful pictures in Cambodia, thanks for sharing and showing to us." They said, "Welcome back all the way from Cambodia and you had a lot of fun."

Who wrote this? I have spent a lot of time in Cambodia. Tuol Sleng wasn't built as a torture chamber. It was a school that became a prison. Of the 20,000 prisoners sent there, I think about four survived. It's a pretty dark story.

To say that the temple in Cambodia was the copied from the temple in Ayuthia in Thailand is a big mistake. How can the temple in Cambodia was the built from copy of temple in Thailand when Cambodia was an empire extended thruoghout much of what it is now Thailand? Thai kings told its scholars to record our khmer literature. Today khmer language is being used in Thailand. Without Cambodia, Thailand would never existed.

I've really liked most of your videos on SE Asia, but you lost me with this one. Not only missing out places such as Battambang, Kampot, Kep, the Koh Rong islands, and Preah Vihear; but to include Chong Kneas which is nothing but a scam, full of Vietnamese begging, tours run from a dock owned by a Korean company; there's even a Korean restaurant there now. This is the last place that should be visited around Siem Reap. A little effort on your part and you could have covered the amazing fishing villages that do exist just outside Siem Reap city, places such as Kompong Khleang and Kompong Phluk. Fishing villages that don't feature young children paddling around in rice bowls begging for money, or to have photos taken with dead snakes; and where the local community run the boats that take visitors to their villages. Cambodia is such an amazing country, with such beautiful people, and you have failed to capture this in the way you did Myanmar.
