- We get a start on the diorama base by painting a faux marble finish, and I take my first look at the Tankkraft tracks - and then assemble, paint and install them.

Great tutorial on the tracks. They look great: a well-used set of tracks that aren't lathered up with mud and dirt.
thanks!
Thanks for making our tracks look more like tracks! 😁
Glad you like them!
Would be neat if Tankraft made sort of 2in1 set containing more of the track links with teeth, to fit a post war vehicle, or an IS 2/IS 3 tank.
Perhaps in the future? Thanks for watching.
Post war IS and ISU tracks were similar, but not the same as the toothed type in the 650mm split series. I have one post war IS track variant modeled up that should be out soon. Still looking for examples of the other variants to model from.
Very interesting technique on the marble and a beautiful weathering on the isu-152
Many thanks!
Golly you made weathering those tracks look simple!
It is that simple. Thanks
That technique to simulate marble !!! Well done Rick 👌
Thanks 👍
Well damn.....now I think I need to get some Tankraft tracks. Loving this series.
They are nice!!!!
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Should have them in a couple days! Cant wait for the next video!
thank you for sharing with us this beautiful technique!!
You are so welcome!
Fascinating and educating as usual - really like that marble work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great done - for me, I like how You prepared "shrapnels" from that soccer ball and separate them on wires from the ball itself. Also, great tutorial of marble painting alongside with track painting. Both very good and very useful. ;) All the best for You! ;)
Glad you liked it!
The marble base is cool. Perhaps you should add some light yellowish/orangish smear on the rims to show "the age" and dirt of it.
Anyway, always a pleasure to watch your vids
Hello Gustavo. Yes, you are right on. I didn't add any of the weathering effects yet, those will be included as I begin to integrate the statue into the base. Thanks for watching and your comments.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda I imagined that!! Can´t wait to see the diorama. Thanx for the answer and keep the good work
Whaaaooouuuuu beautiful
Very nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent narrative; very informative video - thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another awesome video. It's seems to be coming together nicely. Keep it up.
Thank you very much!
Excellent
Thanks
Excellent video as always, Rick - and terrific review of the Tankraft tracks! Really enjoying this build!
Many thanks! Thanks for your support of the channel.
Neat job, Rick
Thanks, Zal.
Nice job on the tracks and statue!
Thanks, Glenn. I hope that you are enjoying your summer.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda yes but hot!
Great video Rick, the marble on the base of the statue is simply stunning
Thank you kindly
Nice! Thanks Interesting technique on the marble. Not sure if I'll eve3r use it, but it's good to have the technique in my library.
It certainly is a specialized technique and I doubt that most will use it. That said, I think that it's fun, and more importantly it might inspire someone to try something outside their normal comfort. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video Rick :)
All nicely explained even for a beginner to understand good job on that .
Question the 3Gen paint how they are to airbrush, and the thinning ratio ?
Keep on the good work and model on .
Have a nice day , stay safe and well buddy :)
Howdy. I have found that the Gen 3 acrylics airbrush well. I don't keep exact ratios, but my guess is that it is about 60/40 (paint to thinner) for most uses. It is more than I was used to, but once I found the "sweet spot" I haven't had any issues.
Hey Rick, what do you think of Abt's fast drying thinner vs the odorless thinner? the hobby store has the fast drying one left in stock!
Zal, I think that it's fine. I prefer the "regular" formula. I'm used to the working time and haven't found the need to fast dry the oils. Keep in mind, that when I apply the oils in the first place, the linseed oils have been leached out on the cardboard, and the oils are applied with very little in the way of additional thinner (generally). Of course effects can be created by adjusting the amount of thinner to create washes and such.
Did you use the full 88 links on each side as recommended? When I did mine it seems like way to much slack.
I took a few links out as well...I believe I ended up with 86
Perhaps I missed it, but why propaganda?
I started posting my work a long time ago in forums, and then magazines and now video. I've used Propaganda for more than 15 years in my work, basically promoting my own work, from my perspective. The definition (more or less) of Propaganda.
