I clicked as fast as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Def Leppard was my all time favorite rock band ever. They would take me in the biker fantasy every time I'd hear them growing up.
@@jesseguerra1 The remarkable thing is that I've been listening to this album since '87 and could never figure out how Rick Allen plays fills on the snare when he's using his left foot to operate it. I thought he had a pre-programmed pedal he hit to do the fills for him. Then a couple of weeks ago, I realised that he alternates between the left foot and his hand. Man, that's some serious reprogramming of himself he did to learn how to do that, never mind programming the drum kit.
The 80's was a fantastic era in music. Some folks laugh at the hair, the clothes whatever... BUT when push comes to shove the 80's was a truly beautiful time. The look in your eyes tells the story you feel it.
I agree. Not a bad song on the album. There were a few of those. Steve Miller Band's Fly Like an Eagle was another. Carole King's Tapestry was my high school days. When I hear one on any of these albums, I want to start singing the song that came after it.
Don't know if you noticed but the drummer is playing with one arm, he lost his other one in a car accident. React to Rock of ages live 1988! When they where at the top of their game.. the drummer has one arm, he lost it in 1984 from a car accident and 2 years later they made the Hysteria album and he’s still playing drums for them to this day

I agree with you whole heartedly, that music will never be what it used to be. I love all of your reactions. I love all of the rock bands of the 80's. What once was, will never be again. You need to do some Loverboy, as in "Working for the Weekend ". But any of their songs will do.
Def Leppard was one of the best bands of the 80s and the 90s hands down. The Hysteria CD was one of those rare CDs that even now I can close my eyes and listen to it and it sounds amazing. The in the round concerts. Steve Clark and Phil Collin on guitar. Rick Allen back behind his drum kit! Rick Savage on his bass and Joe Elliot with his magical vocals! This is when Def Leppard was pure Gold!!
Most Amazing Band when I was growing up in the 80's, crossing the street with my dad's car...LOL Boom Box blasting in the back seat! Thank you for reacting to my All time favorite Band! :-) ~ jenn

I have been listening to Def Leppard since I was 5 thanks to my dear sweet late brother. He died a couple months after the Hysteria album was released & the last song he got into on the album was Animal. After my brother died it took me awhile to start listening to Def Leppard again then when their guitarist Steve Clark passed away I was in tears when I heard bout it so this band holds some special meaning & memories for me
Born in 1975, I feel I grew up with the BEST music! Back when you HAD to have talent, not just a pretty/handsome face! Growing up, all genres were awesome for the most part! You MUST listen to Poor Some Sugar On Me, Rocket, Love Bites, just a FEW of my favorite Def Leopard songs! Oh! Photograph is another great one! I’m so glad you’re taking me back to the good ol’ days AND that you’re actually appreciating this awesome music. You still have SO many greats to listen to, it would take me more than a minute to list them all!
All my favorite music is from the 70’s to 90’s. I love watching you react to so many of my favorites and you loving them gives me such pleasure to see. Please react to Urgent by Foreigner and Working for the weekend by Loverboy!!
Def Leopard was and still is one of the best bands out!! They just announced a huge tour with two or three other bands and Joan Jett!! If you like the 80's ; you should try to go to one of their concerts in 2020!!
I love 80s Bands like Bon Jovi, Deff leppard, Metallica etc... for the melody and the Guitar solos and I was raised listening to a wide range of music thanks to my parents. My dad was 80s and 90s rock and aBit of reggae. My mum was more 80s pop and rnB. I was 90s hiphop reggae with a Bit of opera and classical aswell as my native Pacific island music. God Bless Brother Big fan of your reactions
Yes, unmatched! I seen Def Leppard with Whitesnake, Motley Crue & Europe back in 87. DL, Whitesnake and Journey are a few of my favorites. If you’ve not watched Whitesnake check them out, Still of the night is a fav. All are great though! I miss the 70’s and 80’s and watching music videos all day on MTV. At least the music lives on and we have the classic videos on CZcams to share with generations to come.. I remember sitting in my bedroom recording songs off the radio with a cassette tape player. lol
Rest in peace Steve Clark, you are missed! I saw them 2 times, the Hysteria tour and the Adrenalize tour. Steve was on the Hysteria tour, it was amazing. Sadly Vivian was on the Adrenalize tour. It just wasnt the same. 😭
Saw these guys twice now in concert, and once just strolling around the mall by my house! These guys are legends and they still rock hard 🎸 Check out Rocket by them.
Huge Def Leppard fan here... I agree...any song... IMHO their best album... From a time when music was music. Def had the help of Mutt Lange and between them layered track after track and came up with their legendary sound.
You got it young jedi, the culprit has always been the industry. It goes deeper than most people understand. Before the industry had its validation, it required the influence of talent, now that the entity known as the industry is bigger than talent.. you don't get to have it anymore. It calls the shots.
You are dead on man. The industry encourages and normalizes the horrible behavior in our society.. Artists back then were singing about real feelings. Love is powerful enough to make a man pour is heart out. Thanks for the reaction!
Penny Starr Yeah, he already did one Def Leppard and a bunch of people started requesting Def Leppard songs. I can’t remember which Def Leppard song he did…
@@eleni33koro88 I really appreciate your telling me. I found it and it was Love Bites, which is my favorite DL. IDK how I missed it. I subscribe and get notices. Anyway, thank you.

The drummer for this band lost one of his arms in an automobile accident but he rigged up kind of apparatus so that his leg can now perform the tasks in place of the missing arm
I think you're right about the industry. Good music phased out in the 90s. The best music of all time was Nat King Cole accompanied by an orchestra. Absolute gold!
One of my favorites. Please please please check out photograph and rock of ages! Two of their best. Def Leppard in a class all their own and one of the greatest bands of all time. This song is a representation of their genius and tenacity. Rick Allen losing his arm didn't stop them from moving forward and creating one of the most melodic and groundbreaking albums of all time. Please check out photograph. That song marked a change in their sound from their previously harder rock sound. They started working with Robert "mutt" Lange and replaced Pete Willis with Phil Collen and when those two things happened everything changed for them and pyromania was the result. Amazing album and a showcase of their collective genius.
WAS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS DEF DID. THE GROUP HAS HAD TRAGEDYS AND OVERCOME THEM AND MADE THEM STRONGER. STEVE RIP, VIVIAN CANCER, RICK ALLEN LOSING ARM IN NEAR DEATH ACCIDENT, RICK SAVAGE HAVING BELLS PALSY, AND STILL GOING.. THE REAL PASSION IS RICK ALLEN LOSING HIS ARM AND NEVER GAVE UP DRUMMING AND THE OTHERS NEVER GAVE UP ON RICK.. THAT'S REAL PASSION AND LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER...
This is my favorite Def Lep song - you are correct current mainstream songs/music are created based on stats and algoryhtms, regurgitated and distilled. There are still some great artist out there but you have to seek them out and they don't likely get air play.
The dummer, Rick Allen, lost his arm in an accident and it was thought he would never be a drummer again. He came back on this album with a full setup to allow him to drum with his feet and right arm only. Amazing resilience and determination. And an AWESOME album. They were the number one band for that entire year from mid 1986 to late 1987, if memory serves.
You are correct. Nothing will ever match this. This is my fav song of theirs. They have many good ones, but this one and the album I feel was their best. Damm good song. Great band..I wish I could have seen them in concert back then. I remember it was these guys or my Crush, Eddie Van Halen...I chose Eddie. lol..
Love Def leppard. They're still making new music. They do a song with Tim McGraw that I love that's called Nine Lives. This type of music still exists but in Europe. Shame the radio stations won't play it here. We could have rock back
Yer damn right my friend, music has never been better since the 80's and early 90's. It was a good some-odd 40 year run, but the last 25 have been spotty at best!! Keep checking out the Lepps. Time to do some of their power rock anthems like Photograph, Rock of Ages and Armageddon It. But don't be afraid to go even deeper into their old catalog...some really cool and bluesier stuff off of On Through the Night and High n' Dry like Wasted, Getcha Rocks Off, Let It Rock, Lady Strange and more!! Enjoy! \m/ \m/
I'm so different from who I was then. So is the band. The drummer has one arm and the guitarist Steve Clark died from alcoholism. I'm mourning for them and for me right now.
Def Lepards main competition was Krokus when Def Lepards started out. DL won but Krokus had some good tunes."Party all Night Long"? Can't remember titles but they had quite a few hits. Krokus weird name but worth checking out.
Ha ha I was just listening to this album! Def Leppard was the best 80s band. So glad you did this. 🙌 Please ck out Foolin🎼 or anything from that album. EVERY cut on it is great. And I rarely say that about any album👍
It's not just the industry, it's the consumer. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, every style of music had a chance. Then towards the late 80s, it started to change. There are some bands today that deserve to be huge chart bands (e.g. Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation) but can't get onto the Top 40 in the UK or anywhere near the Billboard charts. And yet, these bands often fill stadiums. I was going through the list of the Top 10 best-selling singles in the UK over the summer and it was a real who's who ... as in, "who? Who? Who?" I'd only heard of one of the artists. Music today absolutely sucks balls but the shitty stuff is all radio stations will play. People tend to like food that they grew up eating. Music's the same, that's why most kids today like the shit they're being fed.
This was from Hysteria.. the first album after their drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in an accident. Great album.. very poppy for a rock album. Check out something from Pyromania too... that's considered their "best" album.
This whole album 'Hysteria' is amazing. This is my song for life, this song came out few months after my dad passed away-this song is when I finally broke down.
I think it was less about looks back then, which opened up so many more possibilities. If you had the talent, you could be a superstar. Music videos were even still in their infancy, so you rarely even saw the artist. Nowadays they focus on who they can market, and assume they can fix the vocals in a computer.
And by the time this album dropped in 1987 these guys were as main stream as any rock band in the world! Main stream success was a result of a combo of talent and years of hard work! And pretty much everyone could sing back then unlike today. Talent has been replaced with half nakedness! And music was better when unattractive people were still aloud to make it!
There are some Swedish bands that are bringing Rock back. Check out H.E.A.T Sweden, you'll love them. They have some good ballads too like All the Nights and The one and only. Living on the Run is also awesome!
Hysteria was an amazing album. The production took an already amazing sound and enhanced it so much. And Rick Allen...To be able to play the drums on those amazing songs as flawlessly as he did and with one arm. There's never been anything like it and probably will never be again.
I clicked as fast as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Def Leppard was my all time favorite rock band ever. They would take me in the biker fantasy every time I'd hear them growing up.

You have to check out their older songs. High and Dry album is phenomenal. Pyromania is incredible.
Those are some old tunes! Keep going bruh! Big up!!!
So many high school memories
Def Lepards main competition was Krokus when Def Lepards started out. DL won but Krokus had some good tunes."Party all Night Long"? Can't remember titles but they had quite a few hits. Krokus weird name but worth checking out.
I really enjoyed this! I myself am learning to appreciate music, and artists that I may have overlooked, regardless of genre or era! Great review!
They are great
Ha ha I was just listening to this album! Def Leppard was the best 80s band. So glad you did this. 🙌 Please ck out Foolin🎼 or anything from that album. EVERY cut on it is great. And I rarely say that about any album👍
Probably the best album of the 20th century👍
They just announced they're touring in 2020 with Motley Crue and Poison!
Great lineup of '80s bands that still rock!
Still in my top five albums
You know good music, dude. Glad to be a subscriber!!
That's my favorite Def Leppard song
