@@jesseguerra1 The remarkable thing is that I've been listening to this album since '87 and could never figure out how Rick Allen plays fills on the snare when he's using his left foot to operate it. I thought he had a pre-programmed pedal he hit to do the fills for him. Then a couple of weeks ago, I realised that he alternates between the left foot and his hand. Man, that's some serious reprogramming of himself he did to learn how to do that, never mind programming the drum kit.

The 80's was a fantastic era in music. Some folks laugh at the hair, the clothes whatever... BUT when push comes to shove the 80's was a truly beautiful time. The look in your eyes tells the story you feel it.

I agree. Not a bad song on the album. There were a few of those. Steve Miller Band's Fly Like an Eagle was another. Carole King's Tapestry was my high school days. When I hear one on any of these albums, I want to start singing the song that came after it.

Don't know if you noticed but the drummer is playing with one arm, he lost his other one in a car accident. The band didn't give up on him and he figured out how to play with his feet using electronic pedals. His story is quite inspirational, he's living proof that you should never give up on yourself...they're by far my favorite hairband! 🤟

Def Leppard played my city on their "Pyromania" tour (way back when). They hired locals for one-night roadie labor. I got to work the show. I got to unload the semis, put together lighting trusses, etc. I got to stay for the show, all access - backstage, in the ceiling, anywhere in the arena EXCEPT the bands private dressing rooms. When the show was over, I helped take it all down and load it back on the trucks. I could be wrong but if I recall correctly I think there were 13 semi tractor trailer trucks of gear. In addition to every kind of musical equipment unimaginable, they even had their own clothes washing machines and dryers. I've been following you for awhile. I've loved Queen, the Beatles, the Carpenters, Guns & Roses, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, etc for 20+ years. I am in total agreement with you about the themes/messages of music today vs. music of past. If you want to hear music that is COMPREHENSIVELY in agreement with your message I have some requests that will blow you away! As you've asked, I will submit my requests on your "Write Your Music Requests" video comments. I want to give you just a slight sample of lyrics of Rush - Spirit of the Radio:
"All this machinery Making modern music Can still be open-hearted Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question Of your honesty, yeah your honesty.
One likes to believe In the freedom of music,
But glittering prizes And endless compromises Shatter the illusion Of integrity,… "
My CZcams symbol is a G Clef inside a heart, because my husband and I deeply love music. Please forgive me, but I am going to post this comment a couple of times so you don't miss it and also so you recognize it

One of my favorites. Please please please check out photograph and rock of ages! Two of their best. Def Leppard in a class all their own and one of the greatest bands of all time. This song is a representation of their genius and tenacity. Rick Allen losing his arm didn't stop them from moving forward and creating one of the most melodic and groundbreaking albums of all time. Please check out photograph. That song marked a change in their sound from their previously harder rock sound. They started working with Robert "mutt" Lange and replaced Pete Willis with Phil Collen and when those two things happened everything changed for them and pyromania was the result. Amazing album and a showcase of their collective genius.

Ha ha I was just listening to this album! Def Leppard was the best 80s band. So glad you did this. 🙌 Please ck out Foolin🎼 or anything from that album. EVERY cut on it is great. And I rarely say that about any album👍

They just announced they're touring in 2020 with Motley Crue and Poison!
Great lineup of '80s bands that still rock!

It's not just the industry, it's the consumer. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, every style of music had a chance. Then towards the late 80s, it started to change. There are some bands today that deserve to be huge chart bands (e.g. Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation) but can't get onto the Top 40 in the UK or anywhere near the Billboard charts. And yet, these bands often fill stadiums. I was going through the list of the Top 10 best-selling singles in the UK over the summer and it was a real who's who ... as in, "who? Who? Who?" I'd only heard of one of the artists. Music today absolutely sucks balls but the shitty stuff is all radio stations will play.
People tend to like food that they grew up eating. Music's the same, that's why most kids today like the shit they're being fed.

This was from Hysteria.. the first album after their drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in an accident. Great album.. very poppy for a rock album. Check out something from Pyromania too... that's considered their "best" album.

This whole album 'Hysteria' is amazing. This is my song for life, this song came out few months after my dad passed away-this song is when I finally broke down.

I think it was less about looks back then, which opened up so many more possibilities. If you had the talent, you could be a superstar. Music videos were even still in their infancy, so you rarely even saw the artist. Nowadays they focus on who they can market, and assume they can fix the vocals in a computer.

And by the time this album dropped in 1987 these guys were as main stream as any rock band in the world! Main stream success was a result of a combo of talent and years of hard work! And pretty much everyone could sing back then unlike today. Talent has been replaced with half nakedness! And music was better when unattractive people were still aloud to make it!

There are some Swedish bands that are bringing Rock back. Check out H.E.A.T Sweden, you'll love them. They have some good ballads too like All the Nights and The one and only. Living on the Run is also awesome!

Hysteria was an amazing album. The production took an already amazing sound and enhanced it so much. And Rick Allen...To be able to play the drums on those amazing songs as flawlessly as he did and with one arm. There's never been anything like it and probably will never be again.
