- WOW! The LEGO Haunted House is HUGE and is simply amazing! Being the newest set in the Fairground Collection, I don't think LEGO could have made a better choice. This set comes with a fantastic drop ride play feature, is loaded full of easter eggs, has great Minifigures, and is overall just a fantastic build! It combines some great brick building techniques that remind me of Creator Expert Modular Buildings along with Technic. I am in love! Check out all of 10273's details in this review video.
This reminds me a lot of the Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror ride at Disney World because of the artifacts and drop even though it looks nothing like it. Another thing that on it that makes me think of this like the Tower of Terror ride is is opens up at the top of the drop just like the Tower Of Terror. Also i liked the live streams of you building it.
The tombstone with the initials TC, stand for Tiago Catarino who was a Lego designer. He designed the “Ship in a bottle” set along with a number of 3 in 1 creator sets. He quit his job to move back to his home country of Portugal and now does CZcams videos about Lego. The tile was a tribute from his former colleagues. It’s also used on the Titanic set, as he had the idea of a titanic set, but wasn’t involved in the design as he left by then.

I totally agree that it is better without the motors (at least the way it is designed to operate). When you run it manually, you just need to turn the crank a little more when the car reaches the very top and it will drop. If you stop the chain, the other catch will be in position to lift the car again. When motorized, the car doesn't quite go up all the way to the top before the other motor disengages the clutch which allows the car to drop. The chain actually goes backwards very fast since the catch is still connected to the car which can cause wear on the chain and gears.
By the way, the Ruby was the key to the pharohs eternal life (pharoh hotep) and as the story goes in the 1998 Lego adventurers line, he would kill any thief who entered his tomb. Also, that obolisc is a 1998 print
I have also built the haunted house. I did motorize the house. If you don't have the app it doesn't make sense. If you have the app, the ride becomes interactive. Motorizing is a great idea

It's an amazing set. Wish you had of shown the power functions bit as I've not seen how it works or how its fitted.

Don't know why you removed the second catch chain link from the chain. If you would use the set as designed (IE stop spinning the chain when the car drops) it works perfectly. All you needed to do as I said during the livestream is run it many times and it will work in the wheels that slow it down, so it comes fully to the floor.

Some days back i checked in the lego store for availability,and it was saying out of stock.I suggest you move quickly because i thought i was gonna loose it as well.I m not sure how many they have left and after a while special sets like those disappearing really quick and their prices go sky high!
I bought this and love it, I also bought a light kit for it. The light kit is cool but doesn't play nice with the elevator though. But great lego kit and love how it ties to the older Adventures line.

The clutch mechanism to disengage the chain is really unnecessary. The motorized version only needs one motor. A button on the app can take the car all the way up to the top and stop. Then when you want to drop the car, another button on the app could make the motor turn a little more to let the car drop like it can be done in manual mode. The way it is doesn't bring the car completely to the top (you cannot see the entire sign on the front of the car before it drops).
This is such a cool set exept for the common elevator flaw.
Great review! Might add that the text on the obelisk spells OGEL which apparently is another easter egg. It's also LEGO backwards (from down up).

I was truly hoping we would get a Disney Haunted Mansion but since this combines haunted mansion along with Tower of Terror I would guess not anytime soon. Cool set but was hoping for another Disney iconic item to add to my “Disneyland”. Can we get a Space Mountain LEGO? Please!

If u displayed it at a lego avent it probly be good to power up .so u dont have to. Do it by hand all days at a Lego avent .but no need if in lego city i gess unless u got lots of $$ to blow an not warry about it..

On the tombstone it stands: TC wich is Tiagos signature, Tiago stopped working for Lego recently so thats why his singnature is on a grave

OMG I just finished building this, and there is a problem with the car riding free inside the shaft, discovered a piece that was turned around, with 2 small studs, that should be on the outside, not inside, and there is nothing else I can do, but take it apart, and start over...uggg

Why does he call it a fairground ride. Lego has "Theme Park Ride". When I hear fairground I think pack it up and drive it to next location. (Carnival Fairground Mixer 10244)

Seems like u only put 1 puller on the chain instead of 2
I think he removed it during the last build livestream because he thought that was stopping it from coming all the way to the ground. But that was because A), he was using it incorrectly (IE didn't stop spinning the chain once the car releases) and give the car enough cycles at the start to work the wheels in so it would fully drop to the floor. It should have 2 catches instead of one.
Sup j a drop ride in a house. Great thort s ..cool as ..just like me tourning hornted high school into a carnival roller coaster ride ..it looks so rad. Just hopen ti get lego motor to drive the carts up to top of. Drop pint so car s keep moveing. Like the creator roller. coaster I just dun the pigsy food van build for going out frunt of diagon ally. My next build an hogworts train .just about start wu s older one. white dragon build today an got boss castle mario set siting here as I need app to do the build. ..lol i tryed to do yoshi build with out instruction s i did okay injoy injoy.
I messed up one of the gears and had to take it all apart im very sad
your not the only one the tower collapsed and smashed part of the harry potter castle today .I normally have no problem so back to building and repairing ahhh
