I bought mine today, wonderful experience, just like the video.
SIMPLE PERFECT EXPLANATION! THANKS HANDSOME ...
Thank you so much I will need the septa key card to get back and forth to my new job starting next week your a life saver now I’ll know what to do when I get a septa key.
Good luck on your new job
Thanks for posting. Much better than the videos Septa uploaded.
+Steve Dallas Thanks! I'm glad you found the video helpful and please feel free to share it around your neighborhood.
Joe LiTrenta can I used as trans pass????
Joe LiTrenta thanks for the info I went down to the sub at taser morris the attendant said I had to goto main station like Frankford or 69 st if what she said is correct why is there a kios down there I wanted to start using my key but now idk thought it would be convient
It's like a metro without the share ability
You should definitely do a video on how to travel in Philly
Thanks so much Joe, u were right, I didn't need to activate de key card
+Umahiya Tunis glad to hear it!
this is going to cost people a whole whole whole lot more money than regular travel
Mikey Mumbles how?
This is way easier
@@michael50694 he is right. This is good for those only traveling one route. For example, if I buy a normal weekly card, which is the same price as weekly travel on the septa key, I however cannot travel on trolleys, and underground, only regional on the weekly pass. Septa key is only good for 56 rides on the regional rail with a weekly pass. As far I understand you cant use it for other means of travel unless you buy a specific plan on the septa key or buy a one time ride on it.
They could just take credit cards or other things people use like cash. They soend $300 million just to get the system set up. Every time they decide to change the computer system layout they pay the company that set it up a few more million. Sounds like a nice deal they have.
Would be much better with Apple Pay but hey, Septa's known for their baby steps. Maybe in 2030.
Yeah it costed $300 million in baby steps.
they have apple pay and google pay.. way earlier than predicted!
How do it works if a transfer pass is needed?
Before I would pay with a token & a 1$
So my question is since theyre getting rid of student transpasses does that mean i have to buy a key card now or does septa give the school districts key cards
I need a new June 2017 Month pass now. How much , Does FTC have it ?
do a video on how to reload septa card like the one you bought
I believe you can do it online
How do i load the key card properly, to send money with it
In my opinion, I like the tokens more than the key and it seems simple
Agreed
Do the KEY card expires?
How often does the subway run? And is there a monthly pass option, if so is it unlimited rides or the 240 ride limit I read on Google?
Passes are ONLY if you ride a lot. A monthly pass for Philadelphia transit is $96.00. This is NOT valid on Regional Rail. An anywhere pass allows you to go anywhere on the system for a month at $204.00. A quick trip is $2.50 and is good for one ride only downtown.
Yes, I lost my ten dollars trying to reload my i-key card. How do I get my money back?
Do you also have to tap when you exit the bus, subway, trolley, or regional rail?
I’m hella late but no
Problem 1: How can you create a card system and not include option to auto reload from my bank acct? Now I still need to manually shove money into a machine. And how am I supposed to remember balance except logon to septkey acct....not good
Problem 2: Can't use with someone traveling with me? So if I have visitors from out of town I can't use my card for them. I must stop and buy another card for what maybe just one ride?!
Andy ODowd Problem 2: Just pay cash like you would before the card.
Are you paying for the card?
Solution 1: Instead of complaining about having to go put money in a machine every now and then . You could just pay cash and not use the card . Figure it out .
Solution 2 : Never has there been a shareable transpass . So what you do is either reach in your pocket and get $2:50 , or get a day pass.
( just for the record , I dislike the new card system very much . However , nobody ever said we have to use 1 if we don't want 1. We could just go ahead and find another way) .... or just bitch about minor inconvenience , if that's what you call it
Just simply purchasing tickets is so much less trouble. This system is cumbersome and seems to be more trouble than it is worth.
Isn't it important to "tap out" at your destination - or you'll be charged for the maximum journey"?
Hey it depends on the mode of transit.
Busses / subway / El / trolley you do not
Regional rail you do
I have three appointments coming up this week so do they have weekly key cards
Yes they have weekly key cards depending on your travel needs prices can vary.
nice
septa is very behind than other country, other countries when they take the bus scan the card, the michine will let you know how much money remaining
If you don't use it after awhile or often, does Septa take money from your Septa Key card?
No all money is on your card forever. When it expires register your new card and it will go back on the card.
can I use as a trans pass???
+Anwar Cummings Yes the transpass can be loaded onto a SEPTA Key as well
I bought de weekly key, do I need to activate it b4 using it for de first time ?
Hey Umahiya, once you purchase it and it is on the Key it should be activated. (Let me know what happens)
Joe LiTrenta hey what if i take two buses will i have to pay 4 dollars i might need a pass
I don’t understand what was wrong with paper transfers, especially useful for occasional riders. Since SEPTA still (thank God!) takes cash, what is the big deal with printing and giving out paper transfers for another dollar at the fare box? This technology might seem daunting, especially for older riders. The only downside I can see to paper transfers is the cost to SEPTA to pint them. Is that the reason?
They are trying to be like every other transit system. If you are someone like me who rides 5-7 days a week sometimes all 7 this is great.
@@hornshowrailfan2554 I wasn’t suggesting that SEPTA do away with whatever newfangled digital card you use, merely asking what was wrong with retaining paper transfers for cash riders? The rider puts in $2.50 and then the extra charge for the transfer and the driver or cashier takes a whole three seconds or so to rip off the transfer and hand it to the rider. What was wrong with that? I just had jury duty and I don’t drive into center city. I had to pay $2.50 for the bus and then again for the El back and forth. I wasn’t going to learn how to buy and use cards for what I hoped would be a one day round trip. (Thankfully, it was!) If the issue is the cost of printing paper transfers, then charge an extra quarter or so for them over the dollar that they used to cost. .
Rip og tokens
the first kiosk I went to was at Wissahickon station and it didn't work it was broke
Bet
Does The Key Card Have A Expiration Date ?
4-30-18 Thanks
The septa key card does expire i believe in 3 years, but the money on it won't expire. You can transfer the balance when you get a new card. I will link you the source if I can find it again :)
Yes the have this expiration date right on the front of the key card
Thanks Miss Linda that would be helpful
My Septa Keycard expires next month how do or where do I get a new card from?
great when it scans. feel like the shit never works tho
They will work that glitch out a few hundred million dollars later.
The old transpass our better.. That's why a lot of people I know getting cars because septa is getting to expensive.
Before i die from earth then a one way fare on septa will probably be like $100
if a token is a 1.80 why they take 2.00 off my card 🤔... this is a rip off. they can go on strike to increase they're pay & we gotta suffer?
There was a fare increase, ICYMI.
Thats what you get with SEPTA service.......... they dont care about Philadelphia or its passengers....theyre in bed with business for themselves only.... fare increases........strikes......reduced services.......and terrible customer service........ this is now the time more than ever to get a car...... im ready for mine
This is B.S.
This system stinks......SEPTA shouldve kept the tokens...... this is just going to anger all the passengers and the company! And i see that this card isnt available for usage with the regional rail system aside from weekend use....this system need to taken down and throw away like smelly garbage......i personally dont agree with it....sorry SEPTA
sammfiggy112284 It's gonna work on regional rail eventually. I think it's a lot nicer than carrying exact change.
The spent $300 million on the system.
Why the Fuck people gotta make things so confusing....so how much is a weekly commute?
I hate it
Same here.
THE KEY CARD IS A FAILURE. It is designed to steal customers money. The APP can't track a train or Trolley EVER.
