- There's a sidequest called robber baron that you get by talking to Hans Capon in Rattay, you have to deal with a group of bandits and during the quest you can choose to go there by yourself to negotiate a peaceful solution. However, you can also choose to duel the main leader of the group, at which point there's a chance that the entire camp will attack you after you beat him, which is probably a bug but still fun to try out.

Character progression in this game is so rewarding, makes the whole experience fun
I know this is 2 years old, but if you do the quest this way: Talk the the Farmer's wife, wife show's you where the camp is, kill them all by just charging at them (so no dialogue or talking), after all this you go back to Bernard, Henry like nothing happened will say well I just killed the camp, Bernard will be like wtf and Henry just replies well I just killed them all, Bernard stays baffled by the news and sends you to Hanush to report the news.

Shields are for shortswords, axes nd maces. A longsword hould be used with 2 hands.

I started using a mace to shorten these fights when I'm getting ganked. Plus nothing more satisfying than smashing mofos over the head with a club. Only con is the short range.
Yeah maces are nice against heavily armored enemies, sadly you reach such an insane power spike near the last quarter of the game you can pretty much just one - two shot most people even with a sword against full plate.
Use the heavy war hammer . It has a good range.

Personally I reckon it's because when you loot him, it clearly says that you are stealing. Perhaps it's that which turns them all aggressive.

I got a different reaction, I made the agreement for him to leave the loot and pay compensation, and then I killed him and the entire camp. Got back to bernard and told him that I killed the baron, he was impressed and wanted to check the body for himself, when I got back to Sir hannush I only had the option to tell him I got the baron to run but pay compensation even tho I told bernard I killed him xD

This was incredibly badass
In my game almost all of these guys had full plate and were charging me the moment Sir Wolfin fell. So I ran into the creek and back peddled and eventually killed them all.
You get a debuff for using longswords one-handed.
It is a bastard sword, historically it can be used with one hand and a shield and can conviently be used as a longsword when your shield got destroyed. Some people preffered it with a shield.
It can't really be all that hard to figure out that using longswords with shields maximizes attack with added protection 😂.
@@valerwolf255 but using longsword with shield doesnt let you do combos so kinda defeats the purpose of using them, unless for outnumbered combat in which case combos do absolutely nothing and shields would be better
Dick Rose it doesn't defeat any purpose some people like using longswords with shield for added defense with a longsword for offense combos aren't everything man.

Yeah, i'm still using piercer here but i got st georges a little while after. It's pretty nuts, you end up becoming so strong you can whipe out an entire city with the entire guard if you want to.
HUH, i searched for this! Awesome. I ran into this camp YOLO and immediately take a fight with bandits and after like 500m i beat all of them.. :D just keeping back up and slowly kill everybody.. :D I love it
What on earth is up with the convo animations? I just played this and it was entirely devoid of henry break dancing mid diplomatic meeting... was that some kinda randy savage inspired animation mod?
Lol, no i drank that liquor you use to save the game so my character was probably still drunk when i started the convo.

I didn't even know talking was an option, I sniped three of his men dead and wounded him from the cliff on the left. They had a hard time getting up the hill and I sniped a couple more and dueled the rest.
They saw you loot him. Is this the camp in Sasau woods, North of the trail, North of the river? I stubbed upon that one before the quest. Tough fight.
Gonna be honest, when I see that many I whistle for the horse and kite them with arrows
as soon as you lvl up to about lvl 10 swordfighting it's almost faceroll xD

Maces and poisons make short work of groups, I prefer the “ravens beak” as it holds excellent defence stats on top of some nasty damage output.. slam some bane on that bad boy.. lot of dead people.
Yh i do that too. Tried with a longsword but against groups honestly can't do a lot else beside hammer and shield. At least for me anyway

But it’s inconsistent, sometimes the sword will go through a guy but not register a hit, or the enemy’s botched movements will always see them just escaping a slash.. I need a KCD2 😂

This is old footage...in update 1.9 they reworked the whole combat system.
Enemies are much harder and aggressive now, and even more "ferocious" in groups.

Eh, it's a much safer way to approach combat, especially with multiple enemies attacking you. My usual tactic in a fight is to backpedal and stab as much as possible. Though, when fighting in the Rattay tourney, I was forced to switch it up and found that forcing clinches and knocking the enemy back is usually the best way to go since it almost always results in a free hit.
So you would overswing in a real life and death sword fight? You're already dead... *whistles* 😌😏🙄

I play this game 5 years later and they still attack you after killing wolflin, so I guess it's intended.
I did this fight in night so I had to stay at the camp for seeing enough and against so many bandit's I didn't want to give away my shield for light😄
The only question is: Why are you still using Pebbles? That horse is just the worst. First thing I did with my bandit camp earnings was buying Warhorse Jenda.

It reminds me of when an npc comes across the body of someone they themselves killed and immediately sounds the alarm as if you killed them like in Dishonored and a few of the fallout games. Oh and farcry 2 as well if an enemy kills one of their own people with a vehicle except in that one they also immediately know exactly where you are no matter what and every single enemy that's loaded in is headed straight for you

I don't know what's up, but every fucking swing I make bandits parry it. Even if I feint or chain attacks in different directions. It's obnoxious.
So you kill their leader and they want to kill you is a bug in your book? You are supposed to play it smart. you can go at them with full army.
This is no longer going to work in 2021. With the current version, they'll swamp you and hack you to bits within seconds. And why did you go in there with Henry clattered out of his skull?

Character Progression trully is rewarding in this game.. tho mid/late game could become more harder, cuz later one u kinda just one or two shot enemy, maybe few longer fights with skilled and well protected enemies, but other than that, game becomes kinda boring.

Combos are overrated, only good in 1:1 combat, they leave you too open for an attack.

They are pretty useful in siege battles to block arrows and in the early game when Henry sucks at everything. Or when using a mace or axe
Strongly disagree. You have more cover so you're more likely to block attacks even if you don't time it perfectly, and it reduces the chance of getting master struck by enemies. Only you're not supposed to use a longsword with it.
Considering shields save your life, I'd say your comment is useless and the shield is great 👍.
Well yes, i could agree with you all if i would be some plebby who can't get attention to five and more people at the same time and use some axes/maces, all that boring stuff witch low dps and can't see arrows that fly into me, especially those what we have in game. Longswords is best, no matter of their armor because you can just hit anybody in heavy armor in head and knock out him.
No offense, but this is the most boring, simple, and exploited fighting I’ve ever seen
