    I've been using Cherry Blossom black shoe dye since i was a kid to paint almost anything black using a good brush or sponge evenly and never had streaking like your application. Painted white football boots and all sorts, so good to see your $3 Kiwi shoe dye pretty much blew every expensive product out of the water here.

    I've always noticed the DIFFERENCE in the original Wipe-New product. It seems to chemically react with the plastic and mixing with the plastic to create a protective layer.
    ALL of the other products seem to be dressings(whether they dry to the touch or not) that cover your plastic with oils, ceramics, etc...

    I bought Wipe New thanks to you and it's still looking the same after almost a year now. It also worked miracles on rubber parts and seals. Trying to tell my neighbors about it after they bragged about their Back to Black, and now their black trim looks like it's 20 year old untreated gray crap. I tried telling them again but they just keep telling me, "oh, I use Back to Black". In my head I'm just like, "Did you hear me though? I put this stuff on the same time you did and mine still looks new and I'm literally staring at your faded trim right in front of my face". smh
    I wonder how Wipe New would fare on tires..

    Malco for me. I've had Cerakote applications go wrong and there is no fixing it. You can make it slightly better, but it's never as good as you'd want. Malco is easy to apply, easy to even out, and easy to maintain. Every time.

    • @ScottHD
      @ScottHD  Před 2 lety

      I have heard a few say that. If it gets on anything other than trim, it can be a headache to fix/remove

    • @micd9256
      @micd9256 Před 2 lety

      @@ScottHD I use Megs heavy duty vinyl cleaner then Megs APC to clean and prep plastic trim. I had so e rear bumper that Cerakote looked terrible on and I could never fix it. So I cleaned it again and applied Malco and it almost evened it out. Decided then that the risk with Cerakote was too great. Malco and solution finish should address 99% of trim issues you run into.

    • @Marcus007
      @Marcus007 Před 2 lety +1

      @@micd9256 I've had good results with That Black Stuff used with Malco. Apply That Black Stuff first. If you want a matt finish (like on weather stripping) apply Malco the next day but I achieved a gloss finish by applying Malco 10 mins after TBS. I only used dawn soap and a 35% isopropyl alcohol solution for the prep. TBS works great to cover up ground in dirt on black WeatherTech mats that scrubbing and soap won't clean. Of course, test a small spot first to make sure you'll get the same results.

    Has anyone used the clear winner Shine Supply Trim Paint? I'm about to use it on my Jeep. But can't find any info on how to remove it from your cars paint. One review in their site says it oeels right off if car paint if it dries. But no instructions tell you anything about this. I would prefer not to tape off the entire trim.
    And why is no one discussing the CLEAR winner here?!!!! And why was it never used in his subsequent trsts or anyone elses for that matter? Doing trim is a tedious process. I would prefer a product like this that does not require an additional application every two weeks.

  • @Marcus007
    @Marcus007 Před 2 lety +1

    Scott from what you can see is Shine Supply Trim Paint dying the plastic or is it sitting on top like a paint? I ask because if its a dye (like That Black Stuff) then it seems like you could add coats as it weakens without changing the plastics' texture but if it's a paint the layers would build up and cover the plastics' texture. Thanks!

    I like Wipe New performance except it's very expensive since it comes in those wipes/pads so if you are going around a car and have 3 feet of trim left, you have to waste a whole wipe. I prefer a bottled method. I've been using Solution Finish then spraying a sealant over it. I might switch to that Black Stuff and Shine Supply dye though, it looks to be doing better.

    I really like Lithium Auto Care's new product called Graphene Trim Cubes. It smells and works like the Like New product, but it comes in sponge cubes which make it easier to get into tight places. You can also lightly buff it immediately after application to get rid of any streaks. They guarantee it for 250 washes.
