- How to make a fondant / sugar paste peacock model to decorate your cakes with.
In this modelling tutorial I show you how to make a beautiful little peacock bird to use on your cakes. In the video I use flower and modelling paste, which is similar to gum paste, mexican paste and sugar paste, you could also mix in some fondant to make your modelling paste go further. you could also use polymer clay, fimo or sculpey to create your model if you do not want it to be edible. You will noticed in my cake topper I use a cocktail stick to give the figure more support. If someone is going to be eating the peacock model, try to let yours set in position first so you do not need to use a cocktail stick, alternatively you could use a piece of spaghetti for support.

See ya soon, Zoe.

+michele sullivan Thank you for watching Michele!
hi this is amazing, what colour did you use for the blue xx
i have been practicing making toppers but using fondant with tylose. is the renshaws modelling paste much sturdier? i find the heat of my hands melts the fondant to the point where it cant be moulded.x
Thank you so much for this video. I had a peacock body to do for a cake and used this to help me... you make it look far too easy, though! It took me 6, 8, 10 attempts at it before I got a passable bird - but still nowhere near your standard!!
Wow!! Amazing!!
+Corina Gomes Thanks Corina!

+Artsy Em Thank youu
If i make it and keep two days before the event the fondant dries up and becomes hard. is this how it happens usually?
what can i do so that it remains pliable
Very beautiful💜💜💜🙏🙏amazing wow😃😃😃😃
what colors did you use here? thank you
Hiya Zoe, love the tutorial, making a friend's wedding cake & she wants a peacock & roses...how long in advance can I make the peacock for the cake, she wants it to be edible!
So beautiful. Just wondering, how long did this project take you?
+Karl Fulgencio Thank you Karl! It can take me a little while, a good few hours, not taking into consideration any drying times needed between, I had to speed up and cut little bits from the video so that it wasn't too long or boring, unfortunately it can take a lot longer then it does in the video, hope that helps
Can I use fondant for this?
What colors did u use to get that shade of blue? That cake is gorgeous!
+rydapin Hi there, I thought I had dyed it with sugarflair colours but I think it was actually a pre dyed one from Renshaws - tinyurl.com/nqbtyuy
Hi!
I love the paisley stencil in the side of the cake. Where could I find that stencil?
+Melissa Brouillette Hi Melissa, it can be found somewhere on the evil cake genius website x
It was excellent
+Arshad Ansari Thanks so much
Loved the video. I made what I call a "baby peacock" because I couldn't get the neck long enough. I did the tail feathers going down. This was my first time trying to use fondant other than for a flower. Thank you so much for this video. It was very helpful. Is Renshaw a fondant or gum paste?
+Aleta Obrien thanks so much for watching :) Renshaws sell a fondant and a gum paste / modelling product :)
+Zoes Fancy Cakes Thank you. I wanted to send a picture of the cake that I made based on your video. Can a picture be posted here or is there an email address that I should send it to?
+Aleta Obrien My Facebook page is the best place to post them as I don't always get notified about other things :) x
.Ohwooooooòo beautiful
Brilliant as usual :)
