You seemed to have skipped past one of the most important fights of his career, his loss to Mike Watson. Benn described the loss as being taken to school. That was the fight where Benn learned the difference between knocking out average fighters and what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Guy was terrible for boxing. People complain about "too many belts these days" but did you know that since the 1930s there have always been at least 2 champs per weight class. It was never a problem though because the belts were almost always unified.
In the 70s, King realized you could make more money segregating the belts. Suddenly it became common to split the championship belts. That "innovation" was lead by King. He then started backing the IBF abd paying fir rankings.
The mess boxing is in today is in large part the legacy of Don King.

KuttyJoe Absolutely nothing like Tyson, Mike used the gloves high peek a boo style that was schooled into him by Cus, and then unleashed awesome punches particularly the left hook. Benn was a slugger, who knew his power could overcome. I knew Watson would beat him, I knew Eubank would beat him, but he matured into a better boxer and the defeat of G-man was one of the greatest performances of any British boxers EVER.

I always favoured Eubanks as I'm a Brightonian & Chris along with his brothers & family were always seen in & around where I used to go. You often couldn't miss him driving around in crazy cars, and then came the Peterbuilt truck!!!
I was lucky to get tickets to one of Eubanks early fights in his home town, beating Dan Sherry.
