It is so crazy how many similarly tuned IEMs have flooded the market recently. You do a bang up job comparing em all and making it all easily consumable, Jay. Great job, brother!
Woah just discovered you and really love the way you breakdown audio and explain your opinion on the iems. I already pulled the trigger on this set as I enjoy my truthear reds. Subbed for sure though.
Spot on! Jay you always deliver man! I just pulled my brother into thos hobby 😂. Recommend him the Simgot EM6L, Nova wasn't out yet, and I gotta say, I still think he will enjoy the EM6L more too. ✌🏼 Good Weekend everyone!
Thanks for the breakdown, this is exactly what i'm after for games. I'll learn to roll tips and EQ for midbass, female vocals and metal. Orr just buy a warm midbass extended iem, i already got the fun bass cannon.
Nice. I liked Nova but I am happy with my Performer 5 and better sets I own. Chopin was also very good when I listened to it!
When I learned Nova uses 1DD + 4BA per side, one thing I remembered first was the original Moondrop Blessing. Similar housing form, similar config. Then I compared Nova to Blessing 1, and their graphs (in Crinacle's database) are eerily similar around midrange region.
Of course, that alone sparked my interest, as Blessing 1 was the main cause of me starting an adventure on this damn hobby to begin with. I don't expect to get Blessing 1, but should Nova actually being a mini Blessing 1 with extra sub bass, then I might not buy another IEM for a long time.
I have Nova on the way and Chopin is out for delivery right now. Excited to make the comparison for these 2 hype sets.
The nova really worked well with rap and edm. I had to use cp100 tips though. The foam tips made them sound very thin and shouty even though they graph better in the treble with foam tips . With the right tips I definitely could recommend the nova to anybody there really good actually
Thanks Jay, cool vid. I was interested in the Nova until I saw the FR. Now, how about that Chopin? When can we expect a review?
Cool! It will be interesting to hear your views on that set!
Hi! Very good review. I've been thinking about wether to get these or the blue katos, can i get your opinions? I listen to a lot of electronicas like Owl City. Thanks.
Great video Jay, I guess I’m sticking where I am. Heyday and hexa for me
Bro, you gotta try the foam tips too not just stock silicon. Drastic difference all around.
Looks like I’m going for the Chopin. Also have an mp145 on the way whenever they decide to ship those.
hey hi thank you for the review quick question which one I should go for hexa or nova cause the price is almost half and hexa got really good reviews when it launched and they still are considered to be really good so is nova considerably better than hexa or not worth for that much money?
Hi Jay what is that video behind you?.. it looks relaxing
It’s a POV of a town in Italy I believe - link at the bottom of video description
I like the sound signature of the dunu titan s and looking for an upgrade, is the nova considered to be an upgrade or should I just keep my money and save up?
Make sure to compare with kiwi ears quintet and blessing 3 👀
Also we wanna know how much better does it sound compare to under 100 dollar iems like tnagzu fudu, ea500, 7hz sonus , og moondrop aria
I already did that in my Quintet review so go check that out if you’re interested. Also compared it to the Sonus, FUDU, and Aria like IEMs like the Zero. Ea500 wise Nova is way cleaner and more resolving with better treble, but mid-bass slams harder on the EA500 with better texture/engagement for genres like hiphop 👍
Opps, already on the way. :P (1)
I trust the measurements lol. Also no Nova b-roll or something?
Thanks for the reminder - I’ll do that with the Chopin, and gonna release some shorts with it next week 👍
I use Truthear Zero. Will I feel better if I take Truthear Nova or Simgot EM6L? Which iem model do you use for games? I would also like to relieve the tiredness of the day by listening to music.
so far chifi has been stuck into harman style tunning but i think this will backfire and they will all start to make bassy iems, then the market will be flooded with bassy stuff. Could you reccomend a good resolving 100-150$ 1DD+2 or 4 BA with a good impactful yet textured bass shelf, idealy 3+db over the highest upper mid lower treble peaks, something with EA1000 mids and highs but a good bass shelf on top of that, mainly for hip hop, trip hop, edm, techno ,house, dub
OG Wu Ze Tian would fit that the best, but it's planar. Not many good bass sets around that price tbh - maybe Tanchjim Hana 2021 but I think that may be discontinued.
ive been looking at the isn neo 5 albeit more expensive but i really like the graph, what do you think worth to save up?@@jayyaudio
Please do Shanling Sono because Shanling MG100 will be available here soon
Em6l is love em6l is life. Seriously though, it’s one of my favorite iems period.
should i go for nova or hexa or is there any better around that price range?
Thanks for the review my guy. You saved me some cash. This one won't do anything new for me
what is your recommendation for a wet, lush sounding iem that rumbles and still has air (under $250) ? thanks
@@jayyaudio to get this rumble it needs to sound like a there is a subwoofer, is there a iem that does that but also maintains some clarity and air ?
Awesome review mate 👍
Of late I cannot buy any set. Dollar 💵 exchange in my country is extremely high. A $200 set nowadays is around $460-490 after exchange rate.
Honestly just as I expected. I really need these companies to start deviating from the "safe" harman sound and start setting up their own house signatures. At this point with every single company coming out with sets tuned to harman at competitive prices, Harman is basically synonymous with boring.
would you recommend the em6l for rock/metal if you found the ew200 too edgy/unsmooth in treble
bro...i couldnt care less about tuning cus i can EQ the shit out of it...all i want to know is if its the best hardware and is most resolving/imaging iem of sub $200 group as these are non modifiable factors?
ya boi
Thanks for the shoutout haha - Pepperoni pizza is great, but have you tried curry? That shit bomb
If I don't already own the Hexa, should I just pick it up instead?
@@jayyaudio how woulod you compare nova with LetShuoer S12 Pro? which would you recommend? And what would be best bang for my buck at around 150$
looks good for competitive gaming
I was gonna say that. Plus, all the iems that did better at specific things, are up to and around twice the price! Which is high praise for the Nova, can't wait for it to arrive!
how does it compare with simgot ea500
Way cleaner, smoother, more resolving, but mid bass EA500 slams a lot harder
is it better than the ikko oh10?
OH10 is more fun/v-shaped, nova is more neutral so up to what you're looking for
Not to disagree from the too many harman tuned IEMS but there hasn't really been an iem in the under 100 dollar price range that does no wrong yet... a good allrounder so to speak. The Hexa is close but is a little bright. If this is just a less bright hexa then that would actually be enough and is not like anything else in the market regardless of what the graphs say. I've heard the other IEMs, they all have something wrong in the upper mids to low treble and that is the factor that makes me either enjoy music or not.
Nova isn’t under $100 it’s $150.
Crin Red, Tanch One 3.5, and Sonus all are pretty safely tuned and “does no wrong” aside from technical performance.
@@jayyaudio ah yes 150 but to me crin red and sonus are a little hot at the 5khz area. EDIT: ahh it seems even the nova is hotter than the hexa there. I like the boost more near the 2khz area and slowly dropping down after that.
Truthear doing mini Moondrop Hexa = mini Blessing 2, Nova = mini Blessing 3.
They’re basically the same company. Old Moondrop guys created truthear
nova is more of a mini variations because it goes for a harman tuning unlike blessing 3 which is just neutral and slight bass boost
Based on the graph the variations looks closer, but irl the Nova is more like a mini blessing 3 it doesn’t have the sub-woofer bouncy bass from the Variations
I remember thinking spending £100-200 for an iem was madness. Now I don't even pay attention to that price bracket anymore #helpme
Have you heard the Moondrop S8?.
Lolol same boat, but post $500 is a no go zone unless it’s like really close or 2nd hand. I got a unique melody mext for $600, that’s my most expensive set. Then fiio fh9 and penon anniversary. The rest are $350 and under.
Hahaha sounds too familiar 😂 Ya I heard the S8 along time ago - if you want a clean sound like the B3 or Nova then the S8 would be the final upgrade (you don’t need to go any higher after for a clean sound imo)
Man you are one of the best, if not the best! I'm really happy you came back posting regularly!
Thank you!!
