Well most people wash their hands before cooking, and most people who wear rings wash them and the area underneath too when they wash their hands.

I always take off my ring, not only to keep it clean but to keep stuff from sticking under it and getting in the crevices of it. I take it off to wash my hands too because who wants water and shit stuck under there? No everyone has a perfectly smooth ring lol
