I am Japanese and I felt interested by seeing your reaction at the breakfast and toilet! To open the lid of miso soup cup, you hold the cup and open the lid at the same time. i guess some people in Japan are offended by seeing how you act at meal and temples and shrines, because it is thought as very sacred and important for the Japanese culture, therefore we cherish manner. I want you to enjoy Tokyo and the other area you will visit in this trip without negative experience, so I will advise you that it is very good to be aware of Japanese culture (relatively "polite&a little bit quieter," not playing with anything related to food at the table" which is seen as rude..., be careful about how to act at temples and shrines etc... no offence. But I just wanted you to enjoy Japan to the fullest! I hope you will have a good time in Tokyo!
