That purple thing that showed up on your screen a few times was Greed, Greed is a floor 2 monster, and often spawns in drawers, disguising itself as a Lighter, Lockpick, Flashlight, Coins, etc. If the item is picked up, Greed will jumpscare the player and deal 50% of the player's current HP. It will also give a side effect that makes players lose 5% of their health every tick until they use a Bandage. Players holding multiple items (2+) have a rare chance to encounter Greed randomly (even when not looting), with the chance increasing the more items they hold, however, this Greed will simply be a jumpscare.
Tips:
When opening a drawer with Greed, a brief grumbling sound will be played, which alerts the player of Greed
Greed emits a faint purple glow from the item which it resides in which differentiates it from normal items.
Greed can appear anytime past door 3 on floors 2 and above.
Greed cannot spawn in The Library, The Electrical room on floors 1
Notes
Greed can spawn more than once in a room. This is rare, but it has a chance of happening.
Greed hallucinations can appear. They do nothing. They just wander around. This can mean someone in the run is holding more than 2 items. Greed does not like that.
If Greed is a coin, it cannot be automatically picked up by just looking at it.
When Greed Is a coin, it will most likely be a fortune(Gold bars & Gems).
Trivia
Greed has been leaked in a trailer made by LSPLASH, however it was confirmed that they weren't coming and only being a painting like Depth and Silence.
Greed's name refers to the player having lots of items, therefore, being greedy.
Greed is featured in the official game as a portrait called "Greediness".
Greed is one of the three most known fan-made entities along with Depth and Silence.
Greed Appeared in the Doors 2023 April Fools Update.
Death Messages
Death Message 1
You have died to who you called Greed. Do not get carried away with looting items, or you will be punished.
Death Message 2
You have been killed by your Greed once again. It disguises itself as an item! Use any differences you see as a cue.
Death Message 3 and onwards
It seems your Greed has taken control once again. Greed disguises itself as an item but cannot control its purple hue. Avoid these items.
here not it appears when you take 3 times consecutively pieces and grow up 5 times after that he takes away 1 full bar of life. the way to survive is by having more life with the shield or by waiting to make him get smaller

Hint: if you want to know how to survive the evil key. You just have to regognize the evil keys door number. It says 0002. If it's wrong. Go in the elevator parts and go to your left and the right key is next to the bookshelf. I hope this helped!

You can use the Holly Grenade on Figure, and it explodes him into peices! He will actually be able to be made into Meatloaf or Spaghetti
