I love the simplicity of the song. I also love how the writer articulates his point without repeating the same line 600 times. The writer is actually speaking like a human being.
This song is inextricably tied in my memory to the radio station from which I recorded it when I was 11 or 12 in the early 90s. I played that tape over and over again and remember the host saying right after the words in the song finished, "Mr. Big bulging out of your radio..." followed by the "woooo" by the singer and then "Star 94!" from the host. I carried my boom box around with me to neighbors' yards playing that tape and with my friends for what seemed like weeks.
