I find it interesting that Virgil refers to the Conduit as a "portal" at one point. Makes me wonder if, at one point in development, the Mass Relays were intended to be gateways rather than mass accelerators. That would explain why you never need to worry about colliding with foreign objects during transit.
Technically those statues could have Protheans in the political term, as Javik mentioned many species were conquered and subjugated until they considered themselves Protheans.

Many thanks for this LR, it was highly enjoyable to dip down into the ME - universe again. I fully agree that the first Mass effect is by far the better game when it comes to story and world-buildning. I particulary enjoy the Thorian; the idea is really vintage scifi that could easily have featured in a Bradbury story (perhaps it did, somewhere). I was rather disappointed in ME2 from a story perspective, though the replay hooks are well executed and the overall game design is very good, the game story does not make much sense. From what I have seen from your LP, ME3 was a quite a bit of an improvement, perhaps I revisit those next. Have fun with Myst!

I agree this game had a masterfully conceived and executed story, like many Bioware games that came before it (as well as Dragon Age: Origins). While I also enjoyed ME2, I was so disappointed with the story continuation that I never even bothered with ME3. It's a bit sad but I'll just pretty much treat this game and story as a standalone, and I find it a perfectly enjoyable as it is.

Another great Let's Play Sven....it was great revisiting Mass Effect again. Hopefully we wont have to wait too long for your next Let's Play. Also while I love your original Let's Play of Myst, I'd love to see you do a Let's Play for Myst 2021 / VR....not in VR mode though.

Sorry you lost the footage for the side quests. I was looking forward to seeing Espionage Probe since they change the character model of that guy who was responsible for the Skylium Blitz from human to turian to correct the “my species” line.
One thing I like about this edition of ME2 is you can now wear that leather jacket from ME3 (which I did in my play through)
