    I‘ve been looking for reasonably priced D2s and D3s lately. Would be the first VOLVO in 3 generations of Saab enthusiasts.

    Got one...2012 1.6 d2...200 000km...no major problems whatsoever...only clutch slave cylinder and the radiator vent...other than that very reliable and nice ro look at even after 8 years of ownership.

      @@chavaristicus dang. I imagine soot is getting into your coolant somehow. I'm not familiar with diesel engines but on gasoline engines that usually means a head gasket is leaking or an internal leak somewhere. Good luck

    MY 06' T5 S40 AWD was a piece of junk. It had FOMOCO stamped all over the the metal parts. At 120k, I had to rebuild the whole car from engine to struts, front end, bearings, timing belt, fuel pump,transmission. This was every other week! Replace the alternator, then 2 weeks later the starter, then 2 weeks later the back floor boards was flooded due to the roof runoff hoses shrinking and allowing water to seep through the roof. The only thing I didn't replace was the neat rear spoiler....

      you got an s40 tho not a c30? yeah the c30 has some fomoco parts but only on the fuel tank and some other parts not sure which but the engine parts are mostly made in eastern Europe and elsewhere

    I'm looking at an 2007 V50 2D with 230.000km for 1500€ which is a steal...
    Timing belt, water pump and roller replaced at 172.000km.
    Really not sure how I feel about it. They will even make the new TÜV Inspection... What do you think?

    I'm looking at a v50 1.6. Timing belt and all brakes changed in May of this year. Its price is around 40 000 nok which is around €4000. Should I buy it? It is sold by a dealer and the ad says it has no issues

    Do not refill oil to its max?? Confused with your considerations.

    • @xPentag0n
      @xPentag0n Před 3 lety +1

      It's better to stay in the middle. The Thermostat on the Diesel particle filter is kinda slow and the engine tends to "overfill" the oil until it's that mich tjat it "spills" into the cylinder.
      That's dangerous because it ignites itself and will rev up damaging the engine. If you cannot stall it in time that causes total.engine failure...

    Im thinking of buying 2010 Volvo C30 2.0 (B4204S3 engine) with facelifted version. Has 86000km on it. Do you think it's worth buying it?

      @GuitarTime Před 3 lety

      @@EEPRODUCTIONSKLB Yes I test drove it this morning. Personally the vehicle felt a bit heavy so is the handling. It was mint condition inside out but I was hesitant to make a decision right there. Second car I tested Volkswagen Golf MK6. Right off it clicked and made a payment!

      @@alexanderstevens145 If you don't drive the car for a week or two and the battery is dead it could be due to the satellite radio regardless if you are subscribed to Sirius or not. Volvo has a repair that involves a fibre optic loop (part #8688083) which bypasses the satellite function and prevents the battery from draining. I tried finding a tutorial online on where to install this but all I could find is someone saying they thought it might be located behind the right backseat speaker. In the S40 it is easily accessible from the trunk. I ended up paying the dealer to take care of it.
