We shot this using a Panasonic GH4 and a variety of vintage Carl Zeiss lens from the 1960s.

That whole “You’re not *scared*, are you?” has never worked on me. I have no problem booking it. “Yup. I’m a big ol’ chicken. Bawk bawk. I’m scared and you’re so brave. I’m a pure coward. But I’m a living coward”.
The terrifying thing is, there really are girls out here sacrificing their "friends" and school mates!
For a short, the production value is pretty good. I give it props. I say this is closer to reality than many think.

That was pretty good! I love short films like this. Sometimes a good person has got to be sacrificed, and you don't need 90 minutes to tell it! Great one!

Everyone quit dogging on this for not meeting your standard of "award-winning". This crew poured their hearts into making their vision come to life. Give them props for actually making something neat. You got to start somewhere.

@@samuellackey1555 the acting, the story, the lack of suspense, the stolen idea from American Horror Stories... pretty much everything was bad, even the choice of clothes was off, and they don't even talk like someone from the 1970s (Its in the description) It was just not good.

Well done! I liked the lore and the idea of the witch living in the tree that gives life to her followers.
I also appreciate the "just humor them" comment that the one girl kept saying. Too often we ignore the warning signs and small voice we hear inside our head warning us of danger. Rather than look silly or make a scene, we go along with things that we know we shouldn't. Good reminder to always trust our instincts.

Gee come on guys why all the negative comments? All these people worked hard on this. Appreciate it for what it is and this film is these people's passion. Have some respect. I thought it was pretty darn good. You negative people need to relax. If you think you can do better than prove it otherwise keep you ignorant mouths shut. No seriously.

Any youtube film that says "award winning" are actually some of the worst films ever made.
I agree. I don't like to bash people for their efforts. Making films is hard. Buuuuut, every time I click on one of these award winning shorts, it bombs. Witches are a trope that are very hard to put an original spin on. Watching this took six minutes from my life instead of adding. These award systems need to be put on some sort of check. These film makers are not receiving honest feed back. Their is clearly potential in the talent that made this, however, it needs the critique to grow as an "artist".
Moral of the story: Pick your ‘friends’ WISELY!

you literally tell us why you fail to listen to 6 minutes more. Patience grasshopper, is not for you.
I think it was done really well. The lighting, sound , both vocal and the soundtrack and editing . Even the camera angles were done well. I did look and sound like it was from the 60s. As I’m sure it was meant too. If they did do it on a low budget , they did it beautifully.

What's so scary is there have been many cases of late where young people gang up on someone whom they once considered a friend and they take them to a remote location and kill them. This story reminded me of these unfortunate and puzzling case, except this has a bit of a twist.

Hi Piaseczno1 firstly I’d like to thank you for taking the time to watch my little horror film. It still amazes me that still over five years after I made this film people are still watching and commenting about it. We won a number of awards for this film which I and the crew and cast were proud of. It’s been eye opening to see how negative some viewers feel about this. Frankly I’m been disappointed with how some viewers seem to take offence to me sharing what should be encouraging for other low budget filmmakers. Now personally I was happy with the performances but understand it’s always going to be a matter of opinion with these things. It’s not gonna be for everyone. We made the film with next to nothing over a couple of weekends. I’ll always be proud of this film and grateful to the cast and crew who worked extremely hard for free to help me make it. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment on the film, but I will never apologise or abstain from promoting good positive news like winning awards, even it divides opinion here on CZcams. Thanks again.

I believer is was he cinematography - different framing and a warmer look kind of like the 70 movie Carrie and like actors choice of clothes was a 70s look even though some of those clothes are in style today and also the icy on the cake is they spoke in a British tone was a nice touch
We shot the film using vintage lens from the 60s.

Decent job on the short! Better than many I've seen on here. The story was predictable but executed well despite some graphics and sound issues. Definitely a 3.5 out of 5!

Um, did that head on the tree move at the end? Really creepy short horror.People can be their own worst enemy when they give in to peer pressure.

Wow I see some pretty tough criticism regarding this movie....But this is what the comments section is for so that people can state their opinions...I can see the point of view from all sides both positive and negative.... I will say this, I have watched hundreds of these short films and some are just really dreadful in terms of story, acting, imagery, lighting, sounds, etc....I mean literally so bad I have to stop watching....But I did enjoy watching this from beginning to end so job well done....I imagine it can be challenging to make a movie on a low budget....98% of the horror shorts I have watched on CZcams have been awesome so far....As a writer myself I like to view the works of others....Keep up the good work guy's and hopefully we will see big productions from you in the future :)

@@ahorrorshow Thank you so much for the response....Well to me I can't bash a person that's pursuing their dream...And in my opinion it was not a bad film at all....I can see exactly where your going with this and considering the budget for these films are usually low this was done well....Before being offensive and just flat out mean while critiquing a person's work you should first ask yourself "Could You Pull It Off? With those limitations? Making a short film that's watchable is a lot harder than people actually realize....I couldn't do the tech stuff but I can act and write lol...So I have some pro's in there....Your doing great...Please continue in this path...I know we will see even greater things from you all....And I would be delighted to show you my work...Hey perhaps we could make a short together some time!!!! Keep your head up and focus...Your going places...Pursue your dream :)
