Far better than "Murder". Syncopated rhythm, more melodic but also more complex harmonic structure, better design of the transitions between the parts, more interesting lyrics and a much better sound. My opinion 🙂

Audacious song. Harking back to the 80s with the synths and 00s with that offbeat bassline, but that 6/8 beat? Wow! it really works here.
ICONIC. Sophie is just so naturally gifted. The way she created such a dance that makes it seem like people get in a trance and she commands them every time she sings the chorus is iconic. This should totally be a worldwide hit. Shes always so ahead of the curve.
Technically speaking, most parts of the song are not 4/4, but 6/4, which is quite a courageous decision for a pop song 👏👏👏

Shes giving the finishing touches to her newest album which is inspired by Japan, like previous albums have been inspired by a location. I believe this is the hype single and soon enough the first official single will come out.

@@QuaintKawaiix I see what you mean Francisco editing! Wanderlust was inspired by Russia🇷🇺and Familia was inspired by Mexico 🇲🇽and they were both AMAZING albums! I'm guessing it means that she will be working with Ed Harcourt again who she worked with on both Wanderlust and Familia and Ed did a great job with those two albums.

You recognize talent when the artist creates a masterful work naturally, instinctively, without having to choose a theme and force themselves into.
Sophie Ellis is a natural, her talent is immense and her instinct extraordinary, I love her music, this song is fantastic, a dance floor banger 🤍

You have no idea how much I love Sophie😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️ She's my favorite pop singer! She's amazing and super talented!!! Back in her early years, there were some idiots in the media of my country who thought she was just a one-hit wonder with "Murder on the dance floor" and that she would disappear. But I always believed on her ever since her first album. There were some Madonna influences in that record, some The Smiths too and so on. By the time she released "Trip the light fantastic" in 2007 I already thought she was moving forward in her career but when "Wanderlust" arrived in 2014 I knew she was special and so talented without needing the mainstream media behind her. Then a symphonic album happened and the greatest hits as well. She's a fun singer, down-to-earth and so educated with a talented background in her family that no one can deny that she's one of the most relevant pop singers nowadays... not in a mainstream scene of whatever country, but in the talent she possess. I love her and her music always makes me smile even if I'm having the shittiest days.

En verdad, suena como un tema de inicios de los 2000s o 2010s, no suena para nada a la "sh*t" actual, eso es lo q más me ha sorprendido... Parece que se está haciendo tendencia en algunos cantantes volver a sus sonidos originales, creo q ellos mismos están hartos del mainstream actual, tal vez es una forma de regresar también a momentos donde estaban en ascenso y más jóvenes.

I love this song and video, never been to a club where a song comes on and everyone knows the dance - choreographed dancing is sooo cool! I remember my grandma telling me that, in the old days at Ballrooms, when the band played a certain song, usually there was a specific dance that went with it that most ppl knew and would break out into!

This is how you do a comeback. The video is inventive and flawless, the music is a throwback to Sophie's earlier output but still feels completely of the moment. Her previous two album cycles didn't engage me, and while I respect the experimentation, I really do hope this isn't a one-off return to her classic electronic sound. She has a much larger audience post Kitchen Disco, they need to play their cards right, i.e. release an album of bangers like this, with a few 'Trip The Light Fantastic' type midtempos/ballads and a few left-field songs like those from 'Read My Lips'/'Shoot From The Hip', if she pleases.

@@darklee6666 I mean, to me it’s a musical comeback - she hasn’t had a studio album in 6 years, and she hasn’t had a record of pop proportions like this since 2011. It’s not an attack, I love Sophie, I interviewed her around Wanderlust and she was wonderful, but I do feel like post Greatest Hits and Kitchen Disco, it would serve her commercially and sonically to lean into disco/electro pop again. Ed Harcourt is a talent of course but I’d love to see her reunite with Richard X, or perhaps Stuart Price.
