I am just completely baffled as to why you didn’t just replace the whole quarter and the tail panel? You created so much extra work and will end up with half assed repair. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but this is something you would do to like a 1994 Honda civic, not a 1966 Mustang!

Simple, after market parts don’t fit as good as original parts. I bought the $131 tail panel and it wasn’t the same contour. I would have spent a lot of time making it fit. It was easier to reuse the tail panel. As for the quarter, drilling a zillion spot welds takes a lot of time plus I don’t care to do it.

Thank you. When you fix something you have to remember, You Will NEVER Please Everyone. I'm fixing it my way as it is my car, not someone else's. IF, it were someone else's, I could fix it the way they want since they would be paying for the labor and materials.

Don't forget the rubber seal gasket for the QP extension cap when setting your fore/aft. Those caps were never metal to metal contact chipping paint when tightened

Correct. I have the rubber seal and won't forget to put it on.
