Billy Kametz was a perfect Galo. Literally brought Galo to life and breathed personality into him with his voice. The way Billy characterized Galo is exactly what I would have expected him to sound like if I had never heard Galo's voice before. Galo's mannerisms, gestures, articulation, and personality was brought out by Billy and his ability to take a character and make it his own.
He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will be greatly cherished and his memory will live on forever.

i bought the DVD to this having never seen it or heard billy before and as soon as I saw the character design of galo i could just imagine the voice for him and billy was the exact voice and character i thought of when i saw galo

Personally the Mad Burnish entrance was the most memorable for me. The cinema blasting the song and I was amazed by how smooth and fantastic the transformation animation was. What an experience.

i can see where Inaishi took things from. Kamina and combining from Gurren Laggan. Strelitzia's spear from Darling in the Franxx. the art style of Panty and Stocking. The pyros that look like some of the Elite 4 from Kill la Kill. it's like they wanted to take every major Gainax/Trigger project and merge it into one move

I've only seen the subtitled version, but so far the dub seems really clean!
In particular, Galo's VA seems really good at hamming it up while still seeming like a rookie. Love that little voice crack during his "yOU PYROMANIAC BASTARDS!"

R.I.P. Galo Thymos voice actor Billy Krametz. Thank you for being part of the glue that bound our anime club together 💜 the students often joked that we should rename it promare club instead because it was always the first one we'd watch each year.
one of the few times where the dub is so outstanding! i’m amazed, the voice fits galo’s character perfectly!

Rhe protag is kamina reinarnated. The mech transformations is so gurren lagann. Tho i get where you're coming from.
i read somewhere on twitter that all 3 of those anime were mentioned in interviews about the animation behind this movie. they even explained that the protag's design was, in fact, based off of kamina.

Huh. This sounds like a pretty damn good dub. Only got a chance to see the movie once, and I watched it subbed. But from what I can remember, these dub voices seem to match the tone of the Japanese audio very well.

Nope! He actually became the boss the day before this movie happens. There's two shorts that aired before the movie starts, and that's when it happens.
It's worded really weird in Japanese as well, so lots of people were confused.

Just saw this film today! What a RUSH!
If Darling in the Franxx based on Evangelion.
Then Promare based on Gurren Lagann.
DitF is closer to Diebuster and Gunbuster with elements from Gurren Lagann and maybe a hint of Eva depression session.
Otherwise DitF is just a really god awful Diebuster remake.
Promare on the other hand is a homage to Gurren Lagann, much like Gurren Lagann was a homage to Gunbuster. The torch of badass gainax poses and planet sized mechas punching through blackholes and another shenanigans shall live on it seems.
