- In this video I demonstrate how to put on compression socks the easiest way! Compression socks can be so difficult to get on but with the tip I show you in this video, putting them on will be much easier. As a nurse and nurse practitioner, I have been wearing compression socks for many years working long 12 hour shifts to help with aching and swelling. I also wear compression socks while running and training for marathons to decrease muscle aches and help speed up recovery. Any time I am traveling for an extended period by car or plane, I always wear compression socks to help with blood circulation and to decrease any likelihood of developing blood clots. Compression socks also provided great relief postpartum when I was experience a lot of swelling and aching in my legs.

At 73 and a male full time caregiver for my Dementia 92 year old mother, I appreciated your guidance. They are doing wonders for her edema swelling of feet and lower legs.
Awe what a good son you are caring for your mother. 🥰 I’m happy to hear compression socks are helping her!
@@thesunnyedge -- Doing the same for my dad for a few years now. But now I am doing it for myself because I am an idiot. The 10mg dose of Norvasc heart pressure medication (amlodipine) is the most anyone should ever take in a single day. I did two straight days of taking three pills or 60mg. I could`ve killed myself. I wish I could share a photo to show how my legs from knee to toe were literally twice the normal size. Ouch. Cheers Brooke Folk and TheSunnyEdge.
@@thesunnyedgethank you for the video it helped , yet i would also ask and love if you could if possible make a video on helping someone else put the compression socks on another, as that was my original goal for my search
God bless you for taking care of your mother. I'm a CNA and know how hard it is... but I get to go home at night. You are a good son ❤
OMG! Thank you so much! I had just gotten my compression socks, and was in tears trying to put them on. We found your video, and it worked like a charm. Bless you
Ohhh the struggle can be real putting them on but I’m so happy you found my video and it helped make the process easier! 😊 Thank you so much for writing! 💕
I just got my stocking. Had a very difficult time getting them on.
Should have watched your video before.
Thank you so much.
So happy to learn this. Arthritis in my fingers is very real, making wearing these awesome socks troublesome. Thank you for a great tutorial
Thank you!!!❤Very helpful!I shared your video on fb..
The only "real difficulty" one might encounter with compression socks is whether said socks are being used prophylactically (i.e. you) or therapeutically like me, who already had severe edema of the feet, ankles, and legs including my effing knees. I suffered an overdose shock of Novarsc heart medication (amlodipine). It required gargantuan strength and strain to wear my socks and it felt like I was wearing leg vices rather than compressors. Adding to my tribulation was that the pharmacist gave me the wrong foot size for the pressure needed, i.e. 20-30 mmHg. They were a size smaller than they should`ve been. It felt like medieval torture socks.
Now that the swelling is reducing gradually, the socks are indeed much easier to put on. Surprisingly, my first instinct was wearing them the way you demonstrate here, meaning, pulling the sock inside-out to the heel. Nobody can get a 20-30 mmHG compression sock the way you would normally wear an everyday dress or sports socks. You might strain your back or get a hernia. Lol
Thank you for sharing this! I struggled getting my compression socks on and your video made it so simple! Happy New Year!
Thank you, Sandra! I went online today to buy some sort of tool to put on my new compression socks but, while searching, found your excellent instructions. What a relief to find an easy method that doesn't involve extra money or equipment!
Awe this is great to hear! Happy to help! 😊
Wow Sandra - your method really works! I bought some compression socks off of Amazon and I was successful putting them on the very 1st time I tried using your method. I love the way compression socks feel. Easy Peasy. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the demo! I had been avoiding because of the struggle of putting them on patients. Your demo made it easy for me and my patients!!!!
This makes me so happy to hear! Thank you for the feedback and glad the demo helped! ☺️
I am so glad a friend of mine shared your video with me. I got my first pair today to help with swelling and had no idea they were going to be so tough getting on. Thanks for this!
Ahhh welcome to compression socks! I hope you love them! 😄
thank you so much. I am a "little" more elderly, and have struggled so much putting my compression socks on. I was so impressed and I tried it immediately and IT WORKS!! thank you again!!

Wow. So helpful. My 86 yr old dad needs to wear compression sock for swelling and it is rough getting them on. Can't wait to try this. Thanks.
Oh my gosh, your video was so helpful to me this morning. I’m putting compression socks on for the first time, and I am morbidly obese. The person at the store really didn’t give me good instructions for a morbidly obese person, so it wasn’t working. Out of desperation, I turned to CZcams and found your video. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ♥️
As a caregiver and Sandra, thank you for teaching anyone else to do this skill
Awe thank you for your sweet comment. I’m happy to hear this helps! 😊💞
OMG. Why have I never thought of seeing if somebody had found a trick. You did it! I have been using compression socks on and off for 20 years and always dreaded to put them on. I tried your way and its amazingly easy! Thank you!!!
Awe I’m so glad it helped you! Better late than never! 😄
Awesome, thanks for making this video. I ended up in the ER a month or so ago and the doctor told me I should consider them. Hearing you also saying you wear them on long shifts. I always associated these socks with older people. I have VVS (vasovagal syncope) after my open heart surgery, the vagus nerve was damaged but I take that any day over if I had not gone to the ER when my gut told me so. After hearing it from several places and speaking with my rehab therapist, they were surprised I did not have them yet. Got them from a local store where they measured and ordered them. Today was my first day wearing them, well..... now I know how to do it hahahaha. The Internet has all the answers ;-)
Glad to hear you are giving compression socks a try! You are smart to learn how to put them on from the beginning. I struggled for years not knowing there were easier ways. 😅 I hope they make a difference for you and you end up loving them!
The compression socks they gave me at the hospital were easy...... They had no toes. Well, I needed something more. Now that I've got em I didn't have a clue how to get these things on! I looked on CZcams and there you were! Thank you so much, I couldn't have gotten dressed this morning without you!!!
Awe you’re welcome! I love hearing that my videos help! Keeps me motivated to keep making them. 😊💞
Thank you! This has helped make my life much easier as far as dealing with my compression socks!!
Omg thank you. My daughter and I were trying so hard to get them on. I have a huge clot right now from my hip to ankle and the pain putting these on was insane. Your videos helped us so much. Thank you thank you so much.
Awe I’m glad it helped! Sorry to hear about your clot. Hopefully you’re on the road to recovery!
Thank you for your video.I just had an ultrasound on my leg finding out I have blood clots and got my compression socks, I couldn't get them on until I found your video. So Thank you again to show me the way to put them on!
Wow thank you this was so easy!!! My fiance had to put my socks on because I've had a hip operation and it seriously took no time. Great explanation!
Compression socks are very difficult to put on but you make it look so easy. Very nice video!

It was very helpful and informative!
I had a lot of anxiety about putting my compression stockings on, but I followed the step by step instructions on your video and I got them on.
My right one was easier to put on than my left, but after a lot of pulling, tugging and sweating, lol, I got them on.
Awe good to hear! I’m sure you’ll become a pro in no time. 😉 Hope your compression socks help!

Omg I can’t believe I just came across your video🤣🤣🤣 I had to show my husband because I literally will wake him up out his sleep to help me put on my compression socks on 🤦🏾♀️🤣 Thank you!!!!
Nurse Neke’s Coconut Cakes haha that’s awesome 😂 What a nice husband you have!

You may be getting tired of reading thank you's but . . . THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!! what a relief to find such an easy way to put on compression socks. No special tools or assistance needed. I can do it all by myself. I know that sounds silly but it really hits the ego having to struggle with my compression socks. Going forward there are no more excuses. I can wear them as often as needed with no difficulty. You changed a fifteen minute workout into a two minute routine. Thank you very much.
I haven't worn my compression socks in a while because my hands are weak due to RA. I watched your video again and I finally was able to get them on. Thanks for your video. It helped a lot.
Awe sorry to hear about your RA causing hand weakness. That must be difficult. I’m glad you were able to persevere and get your socks on though! Great job! 😊

Thankyou for posting the trick with grabbing the heel.. This was life changing!!! I had cellulitis 5 times in 3 months period of time last year and I have been living in compression socks now to avoid getting Cellulitis again. To say that it was painful to put compression socks on when your leg hurts just to touch it is an understatement. This makes putting them on so much easier!!! THANKS!!!
Oh wow, sorry to hear about your cellulitis! That sounds very painful. So glad you found my video and it helped you! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I really appreciate getting feedback like this. ❤️
I agree with Scaly! Thank you so much! This is an awesome tip!!

Awe thanks! I’m happy to help! 😊
Thank, you for showing this very useful! "Take Care". ♥️
As a supervisor, I want to thank you for the demonstration and comparison between the brands since the ease of put on / removal is very important for myself and fellow nursing staff since most of us now get changed at work. With that said, would you consider including the putting on / removal process within future compression sock review videos you create, since that may help influence our purchase decision? There is clearly a difference between brands and thanks for considering!
Nurse Jackie Yes definitely, thank you for that feedback! I totally agree with you that it’s an important consideration when purchasing compression socks, especially when time is a factor as you mentioned.
Ask your aides to show you. As an RN who worked in LTC for years, they taught me a lot
If it takes a five minute video to put on Sox, I’m out.

Thanks! I finally gave up and threw my newly prescribed for edema compression socks into the trash in frustration. I found your video, fished them out of the trash, and put them on, no struggling! 👍👍👍Feels pretty good so far. One would think the socks would come with instructions!
Haha I’m glad they survived the trash and they’re making an impression on you! 😄
You know, that’s a really good point…why DON’T they come with a little instruction pamphlet or something? 🤔
Thanks for the video. I was really struggling, but this helped a lot.
