I really enjoyed your video. I'm now 41. I live in central IL. I've had a passion for aviation since I was a kid. I didn't get my ticket til later after marriage and kids. I purchased a GN1 project and sold her cuz I couldn't find anyone to help me. If it wasn't a Glassair or an RV no one would speak to ya. Frustrated... I educated myseld and have since had 3 projects. it took me a long time to learn that airplanes can still be built for a few thousand bucks a lil at a time. Though many will turn their noses up at my cheap airplanes. I too wish that the days of aviation were still simple and life was slower. God Bless you brother! Long live "Grass Roots"

It breaks my heart to hear how things have turned in US--everything is asceptisized, police-sized, cleaned and dehumanized--all in the name of safety and security, unhuman security. But dont worry friend, your spirit is nit wasted onto the past, it inspires me and others NOW! I have some aluminium irrigation tubes and sooner or later i will build a light plane from them and will look towards guys like you for help to show me different ways of joining tubes, building frames, hinges, control surfaces... Bless you! Rossin, france

Hi 1479andy and thank you very much for the kind words. The newest algorithm youtube is using simply does not promote little channels like mine so I am surprised you found my channel at all. I am trying to find a way around that problem and may even transfer to another venue for better results. The GN-1 Aircamper was the result of the efforts of a fellow named John Grega. He adapted components from the J-3 Cub to his evolutionary idea of what would make the Pietenpol an easier airplane to build. He used J-3 components such as the motor mount, landing gear legs, wheels, and brakes as well as other parts and pieces. He made the fuselage larger and more robust in construction and came up with an airplane a little heavier and perhaps a little stouter than a regular Pietenpol. I think his goal was to update the design and like I said make it a bit easier and faster to construct. I have flown both Pietenpols and GN-1's and frankly love them both. They are both sweet little airplanes. For me, the one benefit a GN-1 has over a standard Pietenpol is more room in the cockpit. Thanks for watching my friend.

Hi Lulut, I don't think the GN1 drawings are for sale any longer. I would try E-Bay or even put a message on Barnstormers.com. Ask around on the Pietenpol site. Sooner or later a set of drawings can be found for sale. Good luck.
