I’m moving to Austin in July. I have no idea how I ended up here, but this is great. I also watched the video on how Texas got to 254 counties. Great work, y’all!

It's very difficult depending on what your wanting to do or what you're charged with & In which County in Texas.
I filed a law suit against my local DA for Expungement of my Record (1 charge)
What I didn't know Is that you basically need an expensive attorney for this & they charge almost $300 at the Courthouse!
I did it successfully on my own & Won my case! Not so true for many others..
    It's all about that money!
I had to pay & personally serve my DA with a copy of the Suit after I filed w/ the appropriate Court.
The wording has to be correct on your paperwork to the "T" or it will be dismissed. (No matter what your filing in Court)
They kinda try everything they can to defer you from filing Expungements, etc.. But stick with it & make sure you pay $100 to an Attorney so they can draw up the correct paperwork & wording for you. Then find out which court you need to file with, get your court date/ docket or cause number.
Then walk across the courthouse & serve your DA! Appear on basically Facetime now days with Covid (so much easier)
If Appearing in Court? Clean clothes, shirts tucked in for males, or they will make you tuck or kick you out (or not even let you in) depends on the Judge..
It's easy if the State filed charges on you but harder for you to have those charges dismissed basically. Good Luck & do your research & research more!

❤THEY ARE RIDICULOUS. JUDGE , COURY APPOINTED ATTORNEY, CASE MANAGER DO NOT EVER COMMUNICATE. MY ATTORNEY TOLD JUDGE MY CASE WORKER WAS SITTING BEHIND ME IN COURT - LOL- IT WAS MY NEIGHBOR WHO GAVE ME A RIDE IN COURT. THEN JUDGE ASKED HIM MY CASE MANAGER'S NAME- HE SAID " JONI MITCHELL' THE MUSICIAN !! REALLY ??? EVEN THE COURT REPORTER GAVE MY ATTORNEY A PUZZLED LOOK AND SHOOK HER HEAD, MY ATTORNEY NEVER REPLIES TO ,Y CASE WORKERS EMAILS OR COMMUNICATIONS. MY CASE WORKER MISSED MY LAST 2 COURT HEARINGS AND SHE MISSED 6 OF MY HOME VISITS. WHAT A JOKE. SHE CHANGED HER LAST NAME ON PAPERWORK TWICE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OF MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS VIOLATED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE JUDGES ATTENTION ON 2 SEPARATE COURT HEARINGS- JUDGE DID NOT ADDRESS THEM
I PRAY THE LORD STOPS THIS ILLEGAL BROKEN LOCAL COURT SYSTEM SOON, AMEN
