@@jacksdad23 can verify, been wanting to swap a v8 in it for about 3 years but wanted to see how long i can run it with 0 maintenance been running strong for 2-3ish years so im gonna just start working on it and let the 4.0 stay in it lol
I've got a 2000 Ranger with the 3.0l V6. It gets only marginally better fuel mileage than the 4.0 and barely makes any more power than the 2.3l from the same year. I'd love to find a Mazdaspeed 3 Turbo 2.3 and swap that in.
My 2011 Ranger rarely sees 4000 rpm. Ofcourse i'm lugging a dual axle trailer that weighs 2500 pounds empty, with cargo anywhere between 1000 pounds to 5000 pounds. Lugging it from New Brunswick to Ontario and coming home.Cruising along at 110 to 130 kmh. Mine is an automatic. I turn the over drive off to avoid constant shifts. You have to play with the throttle alot so it doesn't drop to 3rd too often. 365,000 + km on the odometer.. Haulng heavy loads for years now. Trucker speed will make your ranger last long.
Can you provide the links for the parts used to make this? I have a 2002 3.0 v6 on 33’s; was wondering how much better it can get with this set up 🤟🏼. If you can pass the info I’d appreciate it a lot; Thank You! Positive Vibes!
Hello! Yes I'm thinking of making a video of all the parts + links. I would recommend a bigger turbo however as this one is basically made for 4 cylinders and gets boost creep. But yes I'm sure others are curious too
The one thing I hate ab my ranger is when I pull in the clutch to shift the rpm’s don’t drop at all like this one does it just stayed idled up while the clutch is in, in between shifts.
I like how it now barks the tires going into 3rd. I wish I would've done this to my 95 Ranger 4.0.
Sound like eclipse gt
That second gear pull was 🔥 Definitely added some much needed torque 👍
Love it!! Just a little extra pep in its step 🔥🔥
Aw man let me know how long it runs before blowing up lol I might end up doing this one day
No way it hasn’t blown up yet
@@xeavor9177 If he drives it like a human being 99% of the time it should be relatively alright
@@nickcoon4961 no it’s a 4.0 ford engine you couldn’t destroy it if you tried 😂
@@jacksdad23its a vulcan 3.0 engine

Im working on a 2.5L ranger myself, can you give us a parts video?

What turbo was used

The 3.0 v6 was really supposed to be a car engine. They also bogged it down. Really is supposed to be making 4.0 power cause it is more durable

How many miles were on it when you boosted it and is it still running?? And what did you do for a tune and injectors??
No tune, stock injectors. Still running but I have parked it until winter so I can have fun drifting it. Around 150000kms
Oh 6 ford ranger 2.3. Hands-down, the most loyal vehicle I have ever owned.

I can’t tell how many seconds the runs are
If I knew how, I would've edited in a nice little stopwatch... I'll look into that
That's great! But it still seems the good ol LS or 302 swap may do the ranger some more good
I’m wondering if he even tuned it. That’s where it would really shine with the turbo
No, that’s just disrespect to the Ford that 4.0 is a nice ass engine keep the engine upgrade the parts 😉
What engine does it have? do you have repro?
4.0
@@evilredBorisit is a 3.0 not a 4.0
@@HeapOfEngineeringI have a 4.0, it quite literally says so on the valve cover, how you gonna tell someone else what they got?

How many more seconds ?? She’s a ripper now
About 2 secs quicker
Are you tuned yet?
2 second drop?
That's seems about right
Needs better tires tbh

How much boost?
About 12psi
Looks like a huge waste of money. From slow as hell to slow.
