The head angles and walking up the back with the calves helps. I am gonna work on this more. Also, I am tired of getting caught in them, so better posture.

​@@brandonmcninja I have :( However I am a white belt with about 5 months experience, I have been working on my Guard retention, Pin escapes and Submission escapes...
I need to get the scrambling out of my head, hence focusing on the escapes and guard retentions. I don't even go for submission anymore, I will end up scrambling and not doing it properly, wasting time.
I might look into getting The Lockdown Half Guard though, I am a very big fan of half guard.
