  • Finally got round to showing all the aftermath and damage caused by my last race crash at Anglesey. In this video I show how I fix up the fairings and get the bike back into a mint shape. I fully stripped the bike down and rebuilt it.
    If you want to see my crash, check out the video here...
    • Big crash💥Anglesey Tra...
    The bike is now running nicely and looks as new again, until next time I slide it down the track 🤣🤦
    On to track days and more racing to come 😎
    Cheers for all the support and encouragement on my channel 👍

    Made a great job of the plastics considering how bad they were. Have a great season whichever series you choose.

      Cheers mate. Yeah they don't look bad now they are painted, new stickers and back on the bike. I managed to get another spare tank, incase this happens again. Thought I may aswell try fix the broken fairing where I could, rather than throwing them out. Cheers for the comments, appreciate it 👍

    As I watched the whole series I was wondering what would happen if you crashed it. Now I know, almost shed a tear. Good job keeping the bike on the "road" with this much work and money in it. Good luck for future races. Keep your grip on the race track and stay healthy. Cheers!

      Ha ha yeah it was always going to happen at some point. Luckily they are fairly easy to work on so it's back to how it was. I've made a few improvements to it since. Got a new build series I'm working on at the moment with a tuned engine. So I will post that when it's ready. Thanks for the comment 😊👍

      I think the mistake I made was using an all in one paint, instead of a colour and then lacquer on top. That would have come out better. But it's not bad 🤣

    Oh didn't know the bike was that bad mate, looks like you've done a good job on the rebuild, when are you out 🤔

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  Před rokem +1

      Yeah it was pretty bad, luckily my engine was totally fine, otherwise it would have been a right pain to fix. I took the opportunity to give it a clean up and painted my engine while it was all apart. Been out at Oulton and I've done the Donington race. Got a few videos to post soon 👌

      @Suggy Racing nice one mate, iv got my first ever race this weekend coming, any advice on starts not done a race start yet 🙄

    • @SuggyRacing

      Ah cool you'll enjoy it once you've done it. It is a bit nerve-wracking at first. I'm not very good at starts either, but they are definitely crucial to doing well. I just try get set up with the bike, then hold me revs still as I let the clutch out slow. I don't give it loads of revs, just mid-high revs and keep my hand steady. I've seen a few dump the clutch and wheelie the bike vertical in front of me. Not what you wanna do. The problem is, nerves make it hard work. I've had some absolutely shocking starts, had one this last race at Donington. If you stall put your hand up so people don't hit you. For your first race, I would literally aim just to set off quickly rather than a fast start and just make it to the end of the race, no matter what position you come. Hope that helps. I think like everything, it's just practice

      @Suggy Racing that definitely helps mate, I think your right probs best just playing it safe and getting it off the line, rather than ballsing it up lol, cheers mate 👍

      @SuggyRacing  Před rokem

      Yeah no worries. Like I say, I'm still crap at them even with a few races practice. Once you are moving and off the line, then give it some. It's not like how we see with Moto GP, on the limiter then blasting off🤣 Well, it certainly isn't when I do it 😄Good luck with the race. Is that with NG at Donington this weekend by any chance?

    When you say brand new frame/tank is it new new or new to you? Is it just off ebay?

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  Před rokem +1

      Yeah I mean new to me. I managed to find someone who was breaking a CB bike down, so I bought the frame and tank. Got lucky as the tank was amazing inside, no rust or anything. The frame was in good condition too, so I had it sand blasted and re powdercoated in the red 👌

      Yeah I have some new rear sets now, slightly higher. I think a lot of it, was rider error 🤣🤦
