Thoughts on the Krazy Buffet in Las Vegas?
Would you eat here?
Nope
Hi Ruby, I would totally eat there ! I love shrimp!
um the price etc i dont think so scream food poisoning 101 to me
Looks like great tasty stuff. For spicy stuff, I'd try getting ice cream on the side or just try making a float. I would eat there. I love buffets... 😊
Yes I would definitely try it.
Love that you try cheaper place ,perfect for traveling ,we don't all have a budget to eat those 80$ buffet
Lol! Me too. Stay safe.
Honestly I love Ruby.. she is so Positive and happy all the time..love watching her..💛x
Lmao so random, I’m a trainer at the EōS right next door to this place. Never thought I’d see ruby do a review at this place 😂
My daughter and I use to eat their a lot few years back. We both thought overall average to slightly above on certain items like you suggested. Back then it use to cost me $8.49 per person/week day before 4p and that was with a 3$ coupon. Times has changed over a few years! I hope to visit again soon! Nice job Mr & Mrs Ruby. This particular restaurant location is on Sahara!
hearing you describe the difference between coconut macaroon and a macaron made me so happy!!!
Would love to see more of the gems that 'locals' frequent. Loving the content!
Mrs Ruby I love you're videos you explain everything so well. Thank you again
I just love your restaurant reviews this is definitely your forte, very professional!!
I like how organized they are… once food is out they rotate and call on the radio for fast replacements. Hot foods go! I missed this place, while back in Chicago. Gonna go hopefully xmas 🤶
That's cool and so simple too. One of the main concerns with a Chinese buffet is knowing how long it's been out or waiting for something to get replaced.
Thanks - I usually travel beyond the strip and will visit this buffet.
Ate here once when I first moved to Vegas during the insanity. Noticing this video I gave it another shot. I did enjoy it, Thanks Ruby!
Thanks for the review. Never heard of this place before. Will add it to my vegas list. Thanks and take care.
Thx for the video, we coming out mid January and will check it out!!
"Looking like he just crawled out of the ocean!" 😹
This looks like a good place for a seafood-loving cat and I can't believe the price! Too bad about the sushi rice sadness, but I appreciate Ruby's thorough and honest review!
Great revue. Thank you.
Would definitely try this.
Ruby, I want to commend you on how you are presenting yourself, getting quite polished!
This was one of the few places that was open for dine-in during the pandemic. Visited in November 2020, and went there a few more times since. This is the go-to place for low price, but good Asian buffet. They had different type of crabs, depending on when you went. My favorite was the honey walnut shrimp, which I didn't see in your video. Sushi rice was good the times I went. There was soup too. Didn't go my last two visits to Vegas, though Labor Day weekend and Thanksgiving week. Went to the bigger hotel buffets at The Palms, South Point and Wynn.
💯💯💯
I lived in Vegas for several years. Krazy buffet was great. Loved it. Had oysters on the half shell back then on the weekends
RT, great review! I may try that spot the next time I’m in Vegas..
Hi ruby....I stop in now and then
....love it videos. ..I been visiting Vegas more often this year 🙂
Thank you for another good review I would say for $18 Krazy a hidden gem. You can't get a hamburger for 18 bucks! Thanks Mrs Ruby
Expect long lines for dinner during the holidays, weekends, holidays. Not a overly large restaurant, gets crowded fast. The parking lot is a cluttered mess so be patient if driving in.
$18? How do they stay in business?
Have you seen the film Soylent Green?
Um, is there a connection?
3:18 - its panko bread crumbs on that shrimp, and yes, they are good. its the same exact stuff served here in some va asian buffets. some people eat the shell on the fried shell on shrimp but i peel it. its hard to peel since its deep fried, it sticks to the meat much more.
I'll give it a try next trip. I would love to see you review a couple places I discovered on my last trip, Viva Las Arepas(Venezuelan), Tacos & Miches on Freemont.
love these videos
Those fried shrimp are usually not peel and eat to most… folks eat eyes to base of tail or pull off head and eat to base of tail. She’ll has flavor.
Hi Ruby good morning happy Tuesday morning and happy vlogmas day and this was amazing video I enjoy your channel because you are amazing Supporter
I’d be down to give it a try!
For the price of what you had it's worth it in Vegas for sure. Great review of this little gem
Snow crab, dungenoes crab and blue crabs on weekends. Only Asian buffet I trust to eat sushi from. Taste good and fresh
$18 for shrimp and crab is very reasonable, food and fuel costs are both a big part of my family expenses and I’m sure it is for restaurants.
LMAO the way she put her hands together 🙏 when she said Asian cuisine in the intro!!!!!!
Love you Ruby!☺️☺️☺️
I ate there in February and it was good but the SouthPoint seafood buffet is such a better quality for seafood. We did Krazy Buffet at lunch so no crab legs but still lots of great Asian dishes.
Consider going downtown and try the chicken fried lobster @ Binions. Looks amazing
love your shows...
I tried this place years ago. The quality is like your typical local Asian buffet but it does have more choices and better seafood. I would recommend if you are in the area but not if you have to take a ride share or taxi to get there. $18 for weekdays dinner buffet that's good value too!
If I'm not mistaken, the weekend buffet is more expensive and much more popular because that's when they have the big crab legs and sometimes even lobster. I think they also have a carving station on weekends as well. Of course, you will have to wait in line for hours to get in. Personally, I would happily shell out double or more to not have to wait in line at a nicer place that takes reservations.
Mind you, I seldom eat at restaurants, so when I do, I want it to be special and don't mind paying extra to ensure that it is.
I’d be down to try it- I’d call to see if it’s snow crab or blue crab on the menu
Hi Ruby -
What you were eating is called blue crab (it’s blue before it’s cooked) - you eat the legs and claws, but most of the meat is in the chambers in the body- it’s what we’re famous for here in Maryland…
They have a similar crab in China. During the season they sell them in the airport duty free. Seems almost everyone in the airports has white Styrofoam (2006/7) boxes full crabs. I got invited to a business acquaintances home and he, his wife, and, another couple laughed at the white guy trying to pick meat out of the tiny legs instead of munching them shells and all.
Maybe someone else out there can confirm this, but I *think* the difference in calamari can be attributed to fresh vs. previously frozen. Fresh fried calamari I have at our local high-quality local sushi bar is not chewy at all. Then I've had calamari at a dozen other steakhouse-type places, Carrabba's; etc. and theirs are typically chewy...meaning, it's been previously frozen.
One other trick I know is at the supermarket, if they're calling their fish 'fresh' or 'not previously frozen' if you ask them to depress their finger about 1/4" into the fish, if the fish bounces back into place when they remove their finger, it's fresh. If they do it and a bit of water starts to pond into where they depressed their finger, it's been frozen. Invariably they're going to charge a few extra dollars a pound for advertising fresh - which is fine - as long as you get what you're paying for.
At my upscale supermarket, when it says fresh, I take it at its word because the price reflects it.
Overcooking leads to tough rubbery calamari. Not many folks have access to fresh squid so most of what we all eat is or was previously frozen. I tend to purchase already breaded rings and tentacles. I only fry them for 90 - 120 seconds in really hot oil from the frozen state. They don't get rubbery with the short cooking time. For chain restaurants, Red Lobster does a great job with their frozen fried calamari.
Fresh is probably a bit more tricky.
I live not far from this place, something interesting I found moving into the house was an original advertisement from the builders from 1981 when the house was built was it saying that the development was located only 7min from the strip. Back in 81 it probably was but not now.
Thankyou,you are doing well .
I’m going to Vegas for my first time for new years 🥰 do you have any advice??
There used to be a pretty good Chinese buffet on the east side of Vegas on Tropicana east of Maryland Parkway. It looked like a dump but food was really good , especially the traditional Chinese restaurant stuff and price was good. They sold it to a new owner over 10 years ago , not nearly as good now.
Thanks so much
Its not bad! I liked it
This is literally on my corner, and I haven't been in there since right after they opened. It was less than average then. I'll try again based on your review.
Like your charcoal color sweater you wore outside at the start of the video. Looks nice.
Oh yes……the video was good too.
Honestly, the coconut macaroons looked like the kind that come out of a tin that are sold for Passover. If they are that brand, yummy!
I’ve driven by this place but scared to try it. 😅 excited to watch this review!
thx, almost feel like im there, such details😂
The Imperial Buffet looks good, especially the sushi, please review
I was just here in November. I liked it overall
It’s been like ages since I’ve been to any type of buffet. So now after watching this vid, I’m like so craving an Asian buffet, whereby the sushi is decent. But I feel ya on the price. It’s a value buffet at a fair value.
Nice video 😁👍🏼
The buffet looked good and thanks for trying that little octopus guy for the team because I wouldn't have done it, not me no way Jose😋😋😋😋
Are there tarter sauce for seafood
Really like the Krazy Buffert
less than 2 weeks. thanks for the tips.
We had one in Hixson Tn and it went belly up within a year. IT was good at first but the food quality sucked later on. The last time we ate there was at Christmas time and they didn't have half of what the ad said including turkey and dressing. They shut down shortly after that and that was around 9 years ago.
Everything looks very good. Krazy Buffet and China Star are the best values for the buck in Las Vegas for Buffet's.
She portrays the place as somewhere locals go and a nice alternative to strictly eating on the Strip.
for a second I thought you hit it big at the high roller table and aYOLO'ed and were wearing a bathrobe Ruby!
my virtual sister in law....great content!
Good video
Please more off the strip buffets! There are so many good options and it would help the city's economy.
You should try the buffet in Sahara and Rainbow.. called buffet@asia..
How far from strip. Do u reccomend using uber or lyft?
Next time in Vegas I'm there.
Omg those cheese muscles are to die for. I wish I could go there just to eat those and the crab….if they had lobster 🦞 I would eat that too!!! I love seafood!!
Thanks Ruby. SOUTH POINT, CHRISTMAS WITH THE CLYDESDALES 12/15, free beer 🍺
Salt & pepper shrimp you’re supposed to eat the shell. You don’t have to eat the legs or head, but everything else is meant to be chomped on ❤
make sure to hand sanitize after touching all the serving spoons before you eat.
Seriously though, pizza on a buffet should be avoided no matter what. Even if it's great pizza, and you love pizza. If you really wanted pizza, you would just go to a great pizza place.
Yep, mixing dairy with seafood is a bad idea digestion wise. That said most buffet pizza is like frozen food, definitely skip it.
You did it again, another great review !
I don't how they can afford to sell food that cheap. But it looks good. Great video
Volume, lots of Asian tourists go there, the expensive seafood isn't fresh, it's frozen. There's lots of non seafood items on the menu that explain why it's cheap relatively speaking.
Best Value
Hey, Ruby can you do a video on the top 5 places to get steak & eggs? When I first arrived in LV I could find anywhere that had $2.99 steak and eggs. It seems that's a thing of the past. I'm curious as to what you'll find.
Try any of the Village Pubs, there are like 15 plus pubs in the Vallry
Hi Ruby; thanks for the review. Can you review the Downtown Grand if you get a chance. 🎉
Yep!
I love ur jacket! Lol
which buffet has the best sushi section?
It is good to see you are venturing off Strip, but I would recommend Korean BBQ, HotPot, AYCE Sushi spots on Spring Mountain as well as some of the Asian Dessert places like Sul and Bean. 8oz Korean BBQ, 888 Korean/Japan, Chubby Cattle, Sushi Neko, ITs SUSHI for example. China Town boomed with ACYE spots during Covid and they put many of the expensive Strip restaurants to shame. So many ACYE spots for under $30.
Nice video! How far from the strip is the Krazy Buffet?
About 6 miles west of the Strip on Sahara
Going to be in Las Vegas at the end of April. All of my friends are staying at South Point but I'm staying at the Horseshoe. So I'll be on my own the first few nights. Is this place worth the price of an uBer from the Horseshoe?
Can you explore all the fitness gyms in each casino too for reference!
L
Addicted!
U a magic lady. U got class. Wish I was younger. Wish I lived in Vegas. I live n of hstn TX. Stay safe Angel.
Went there for my wedding reception. Lol. Great dinner!
lol so surprised you tried this place
Hun, you eat shell and legs with the salt&pepper shrimp...when it's prepared well and krispy, you eat the head, too!🤣
Do they have vegetarian options?
We have this here in Virginia. Must be a chain. Food is the same.
I'm seriously thinking about moving to las Vegas. I need to watch your video where you moved to Vegas.
Wow, I'm impressed. Looks amazing for 18 bucks. 👍
Maybe the unidentified pastry was a Napoleon?
1:10 how is there not some crazy frenzied fight over them like in other videos?
They didn't have frog legs? That's a staple of Asian buffets for me. :)
I think I've eaten there, where is it?
Only 5 miles from palace station and even on the same road! Great for a low key trip maybe visit area 15 while on the side! Sounds like a great time
You and Mr Ruby should get out Buffet Asia on Sahara and Rainbow. Been there for decades. So good!
By no means cheap, they've raised their prices because they have fresh sushi which is why the price is so high. Customers that don't like sushi should skip this buffet because the other menu options aren mediocre.
@@emailuser8668 OH really I havent been there since pre pandemic. I really cant eat like I used to be able to lol. How much is it now?
@@jasonblaine23 $22 for dinner plus cost of a drink. If you go for lunch, it's $16, but many items are marked for dinner menu only so you can't have it. Sushi both lunch and dinner is the reason for going though.
@15:26 that pizza looks like it seen better days…
