Everyone who wants to get goldfish should watch this, Looking at you put a goldfish in a bowl people
Haha yep, they need a lot more than most people think
Dont buy anything else then the aqueon tanks at petco
You get the dollar per gallon sale
The 55 and above tanks is a 50% off
@@CocoKoi321 true but I would really hate to support stores like petco and petsmart because they really don’t treat their pets right. :(
@@SunFeathers same but it's all the only shops that sell tanks
@@SunFeathers yea! Betas should have like 6 gallon and keep doing that they should put sliders with some plants and that’s it and there own aisle better then being in a cup
I can’t stop watching this video this is my 4th time can’t wait to get my 55 gallon tank
Nice but make sure not to put them in too fast. Wait a little so the water can cycle through the filter and that the bacteria can grow
@@nuramangeln1099 yeah I know it’s been 4 months I cycled it for 2 weeks added in my fish slowly so the ammonia wouldn’t spike this causing death in the fishy’s 🙃
Luckyyy
@@NavenPheng nice!
Relatable
I love how they follow his hand. It’s so cute
I'd love to know how you cycle your brand new tanks. I just recently got a 60 gallon and I'm terrified of adding any piggies into it because I want to make sure they're healthy; and everyone gives different methods but not necessarily for fancies. Thank you!!!
Made the plunge and purchased the Mizuho feed.
I finally got back into aquarium goldfish again after nearly 15 years.
I just lost my grey oranda JB 😭 after a water change, so I am definitely getting the python water changer. Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m absolutely loving going back and watching all your videos
Luke, love your videos. I love goldies too.
I keep mine outside in a claw foot bathtub pond. They stay out all year. I live in northern CA, so we don't get snow or anything, but it does get pretty cold. They do just fine in cold water. They don't eat as much, but mine like to eat every day even in winter. The only thing is they won't really grow bigger during the cold season. In spring they try to spawn like crazy, lol. Summers are long here, and my pond is on my patio, and I really enjoy hanging out with them.
New subscriber here Luke! I've owned tropical fish for over 3years now. I have a 200L (53gallon, I think) tank, with a 306 canister filter. I am thinking of venturing onto the fancy goldfish keeping hobby and the oranda is very tempting. Just binge watching your videos at the moment 👍
Came to this your one of my favorite fishtubers and your my main inspiration for keeping goldfish and I'm getting a couple more goldfish for my tank
Hey Luke...I wanted to say thank you from my heart for all of your efforts and creatively informative videos. I've never "joined a channel" before yours. I have lost 3 goldfish to what I am not positive is ich. I have a 40 gallon live planted aquarium that uses two sponge filters and one fluval biomedia over the back filter. I have added the 1tbs/5gal api salt about five days ago. On Wed I even gave each of them their first salt baths 1tbsp/1gal. I have 1 Ranchu, 3 Apache Thai, 1 black Moore, and 2 more common orandas. All of which are young and less than 3 inches in size as I've only just begun keeping them about a month ago. I have another planted 40gal aquarium with the same filtration setup. I usually do 4/4 fish per tank but I've moved everyone to the long tank and cranked the heat up in the tall tank trying to eradicate this parasite from it so that I can repeat this method after I switch them. Can you please give me feedback? Do you have any money saving/ life saving knowledge that you would share with me please? I'm emotionally attached to my fish and I would really like to see them survive.
Hi Luke, nice video on goldfish keeping intro. Glad to you mention the heater trick. Yes, for most goldfish breeds, you don’t need heaters except for Thai goldfish (Thai Oranda, Thai Ranchu). Goldfish bred in Thailand are almost like a tropical fish
Thank you Luke for making this video! It really helped me out! 😁
I’m glad!
Wow love this video So good already have a ryukin goldfish but this video was fun to watch I hope you have an amazing day and stay safe
Love your vids man keep up the work 👑🐐
Great video Luke,I'm obsessed with your channel
Thank you haha!
Can you make a video on how to properly quarantine a new fish
thank you so much my dad buyed the fish without the tank so this helpped me a lot
Yep that on
I didn't know I needed Ranchu's until CZcams knew what I needed in my life and recommended this video at the right time.
the fish thinking they being fed throughout the video😂😂😭
I LOVE UR CHANNEL AND TIC TOK!!!!!!!!! Btw I have a gold fish and we love watching you!🐠
I'm new to goldfish keeping and spent a few days coming up with all this stuff by myself and gosh darnit this video would have saved me some time. 😂
Yes I got everything let’s go my ranchus are coming this week
Oh and Luke you should do. A goldfish uptade ❤❤❤
Thank you just came from TikTok your the best
Thx!!
Solid video!
Thx!
Keep in mind single tailed goldfish aren’t good in 20-30 gallon tanks. A big tank would be good since they can grow huge, but they grow better and live happier in a 250 gallon pond
"I like sand"
Anaking *confuse screaming*
I recently subscribed to your channel coz I love goldfish and I like how informative you are! 👏🏻 I watched your past videos and saw that you've tackled a lot of topics but if I were to suggest a new video it would be great if you would talk more in-depth about filtration for fancy goldfish, such as all the types of filters available in the market and each of their functions (the mechanics/how they work, effectivity/pros and cons, maintenance & cleaning, and estimated costs for each one, etc.). This would be so helpful! 😊
Might do that!
I'm getting Ranchu this February!!! 😚🥳
Your instrution is very detail. I appreciate that.
Do you use Microbe-Lift Montmorillonite Clay for your goldfish, Luke ?
I have a 75 gallon tank with fluval fx6, It’s been a month already and the tank is cycled. Do you think this set up will be ok for keeping Oranda?
Thank you Luke ❤️
Can you do a video about ich or external injury to oranda? Like a time lapse or something. Please ! Thank you :)
Thank you for this imma get one soon once I get all the supplies P.s how’s big bubba doing
I'm currently learning on how to breed oranda goldfishes, let's just hope it goes well
I love my goldfish
Thanks my goldfish I just got are happy
What would a bacterial problem look like to know to use furan 2?
What are symptoms for a parasite? What do I look for to indicate that?
Thanks
I really want to get both some fancy goldfish and an axolotl (separate tanks obviously). Since I'm new to aquarium stuff I feel like I should start with 1 tank/species before buying the 2nd. Which would you say is easier to care for?
Great video new subscriber. Any good information regarding outside small ponds for thai orandas?? Thank you
Man, I'm watching this and thinking about my poor 4 oversized koi goldfish living in their tiny foot washing tub that's not very deep or has a big diameter with no filter, we just suck out their poop with a mini turkey baster, I didn't even know about nitrifying bacteria's existence, and we just keep feeding them flakes because they don't like the pellets we gave them. Your fish look so happy, and I don't know if my fish are genuinely suffering or doing ok.
I have a Fluval so expensive but I got it because I love goldfish and kois
I’m my situation I will not need a heater because my room stays at a stable temperature of 75-79 degrees and the coldest my town has ever gotten is probably 40 degrees outside but my house has always been nice and warm but not too warm because my dad hates the hot
Hi I am from India and have been watching all your videos very informative just Wana ask I am using canister filter and hangon filter along with air pump I use api quick start in medicine api melafix not required till know what do you suggest I should do to make my 7 inch and 5inch black and gold gold fish
Luke :fun fact: I got a 60 gallon pond I got 11 goldfish buuut two of them have swim bladder problems and my favourite goldie is the one that looks like tubby tobey 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
I just got two Orandas today
Is there any specific reason that you commended sponge filters over other filtration system?
I like how cheap the air pump plus sponge filter combo is and that they are easy to clean and don’t need filter paddings like a HOB.
Do you fill your tank right out of the sink. I have always been told about the water has to be the same temperature? I don't know but I have been storing buckets of water to make sure the temperature is the same. Do you think I could just pump out of my sink. Have well water no chlorine
Clearly Everything you need to take care of goldfish
You need biological filter such as pumice, oyster shell, bioring, biobal, etc. You need a filter box to put the mecanical filter and biological filter
I will name mine mr cow since he is my favorite
A 5 gallon bucket 😅,…I got a Python 25’, but it won’t even reach the closest sink and sadly my sink does not have the needed threading
I actually keep tropical tanks but someone shared your Instagram with me! Would absolutely love to keep goldfish but I know I don’t have the space or the money to do it to the standard that I’d like so will have to wait for now! Do you find they create too much waste for it to be worth decorating/planting? Thanks 😁
Inspirations of kepping gold is from you
Are lights necessary for goldfish?
I already have bright light on the Ceiling, should I apply another light in aquarium?
I just got some black moor goldfish
Hi Luke! I have a question, how many sponge filters should I put in a 55 gallon tank with two ranchu fish? What would the minimum amount be?
Hi, what treatment would you recommend when your goldfish have some white fluffy cotton growing on its body?
those are fungus infection,i lost 2 softshell turtles to it and the guy above me is how you treat it
Why do you choose sponge filters over canister filters? Just curious?
I love having canisters, always have one that can do way more water than my tank holds.
I only use a sponge filter in my quarantine\ hospital tank
Do you have any experience with Ziss filters?
How am I suppose to put the benificial bacteria? Is it right after cleaning the tank everytime?
We need full tour
Haha soon!
How many sponge filters should I have in my 55 with 6 5-inch goldfish
Can I put ich-x in my planted tank that has the parasites or should I put them in a separate tank dedicated to treating? Thanks
Can we use algae eating fish or some kind of filter fish instead of the cleaning products you
mentioned?
Algae eating fish aren’t great because once the eat the algae you have to add algae wafers to feed them and no filter can remove the chlorine and other stuff from city water water conditioner is needed
Damn Luke, didn't realize from your voice that u were this stunning 😩
How much will I need to use if I use the aquascape beneficial bacteria in a 55 gallon tank?
Luke if I am in a different country that you have to use € what food is good for the goldfish?
I’m planning to get just a little tiny goldfish or two, my turtle is moving out of her old tank, so I was going to get a 20 gallon. Is this good?
Hi quick question from a beginner. I'm a guppy keeper in the tropical country and I don't really know alot about filters😅 Can numerous sponge filters be good for a small pond/tank of about 40-50 gallons ?
Yes! Tho I recommend having other filters 4 or so sponge filters should do most if not all the filtration
What is the best brand of beneficial bacteria
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You're gonna need a bucket. Two buckets.
Some goldfish might also help
Hi , nice video, can ranchu be kept with other goldfish?
I had the same question
Is cryptocorn plant a good choice to keep with goldfish
What is the statistics that fish food must contain to be a good quality food for my goldfish?
I have mine goldfish in a 900 litre tub I think that is good for 2 goldfish
Thats not just good, thats amazing
Hi Luke! Quick question, if we have a canister filter (expensive but we have one) will that work for the goldfish as well? Or should we stick to foam filters?
Canister filters should work with goldfish but sponge filters are cheaper and easier to use
Do i still need conditioner even tho my tap water does not have cholotine and chloramine
What do you recommend as a minimum tank size for goldfish? Thank you!
I would say bare minimum is 20 gallons, I have an older video where I go more into details in tank size!
@@lukesgoldies shouldn't goldfish need a buddy to not feel lonely?
@@kacper6116 yes they should!
@@lukesgoldies thank you alot I'm planning to have 2 orandas in a 30 gal
30 gal minimum with double filtration can support 2 goldfish and you need to do regular water changes. A 20 gal is too small, they get large and it’s not fair for them to spend their whole life in anything less. I work at a pet store and we literally won’t sell them if they’re going in anything smaller than a 30. If you can’t afford the space then don’t get the animal, they’re not decorations.
Is one big sponge filter is okh for 100 liter tank?
How much of the aquascape beneficial bacteria to a 30 gallon?
WHats the yearly average amount of money you spend on maintaining gold fish?
Do you have any common goldfish aswell?
Hi
Hi!
How much of the bacteria powder would you add to a 45 gal tank?
If u respond to comments u should make a series where u win from carnivals and save them
Haha all that would do is support their business. It’s better to just stay away and not put more money into carnivals that do that.
I meant to say fish
@@lukesgoldies then steal them and give them nothin
I have a bowl
What size tank is that the one one the bottom 0:40 and what brand tank
I am not sure the brand, but it is about 40 gallons
Why do you use sponge filtration over others?
Would a 40 gallon tank be ok?
I'm assuming no but will my ranchu be lonely with goldfish that aren't ranchu?
If you have used media, how long would it take to cycle a 40 gallon tank?
Instantly
What do you use for gh?
Bro i live in Bangladesh.
Hey man, love your videos. But I am going to have to disagree on having more sponge filters means more amonia consumed. Your bacterial colonies only going to produce enough nitrifying bacteria as needed for the bio load.
Lol “ Luke’s Goldie’s out”
Is hakari sinking pellets good ?
yes I like them too! a good cheaper alternative.
Can you keep tropical fish with cold water fish
Not recommended
What name of filter you use on top of your aquarium?
