  • @TomasLKarlik
    @TomasLKarlik Před rokem +27

    I have a friend who has been trying to stream for a few years, lost his job during the pandemic and tried their luck going fulltime while their savings lasted. They were doing ok-ish, definitely growing, and then they had to take a 2 week break because they got sick, and their channel just stalled. They've never really recovered from that and it started becoming apparent in their attitude. Finally, they had to get a new job to get by (which thankfully wasn't too hard because of their area of expertise and the after-pandemic market), but they lost their spirits.
    In that time, I wanted to tell them "Well what were you thinking? Yes, there are lucky stars who got sustainable over just a couple of months, but the absolute majority will tell you they've been grinding for years and years. You yourself told me so. So just pick up the grind and move on, you'll get it one day." But it really didn't feel appropriate at the moment, cause they were pretty bummed out about it. So all I said was they had the tiny community they've built, they didn't have to stop streaming altogether, and that perhaps the time will come again to give it another fulltime shot.
    Long story short, streaming is a self-employed job like any other, and has all the same difficulties.

      I feel like pippas viewers just lack common sense and im also getting tired of these common sense talks because it just feels like a mom getting mad at all her kids. I'll still like her stuff and everything but shes been having to knock common sense into alot of her viewers. She also says how she ruined her life doing CZcams when literally she made those choices herself. Not saying she's in the wrong but I also think it was abit unnecessary to have her get at her chat again for something she had chosen to do compared to say maybe talents who ARENT signed and ACTUALLY struggling to get signed

      I REMEMBER YOUR DISCORD CONVOS NOW!
      You'd always quote philosophers but never said anything original yourself.
      They don't care because there's personal growth happening between each attempt and lessons being learned. That's the difference which separates it from "trying the same thing and expecting different results". Each attempt is slightly different and applies those lessons learned.
      Failure is an integral part of growth. If you want to succeed then you must walk the path of failure, and do so without the fear of failing.

    • @monkibro
      @monkibro Před 2 lety

      I may be missing a few pages on the philosophy, but wouldn't that be the case only if they, like the aforementioned Sisyphus, were perpetually destined to fail?
      If that fate isn't so certain, can it really be absurd?

  • @Bighippie00
    @Bighippie00 Před rokem +1

    I wouldnt say that all that time before constitutes a "head start". She sacrificed and sacrificed to do this thing that she loves and to get where she is. I dont think anyone is not afraid of failure. Those who are afraid and dont act are cowards. Those who are afraid but do act are brave, and you have to be brave to succeed. You have to move forward knowing it is going to suck, knowing that all those feelings that come with failure are going to hit you, but you bear them and continue moving forward towards your goal and a brighter future.

  • @b.l.a.c.k.s.t.a.r
    @b.l.a.c.k.s.t.a.r Před rokem

    Everything she said is real. If you can't do the minimum, you won't ever reach your dreams no matter how much you think you're "trying". It takes real effort and sacrifice. It's ignorant to think that every successful person got lucky. You still have to make an effort in order for someone to recognize you and get "lucky". "If you aren't willing to fail you won't succeed." Something that I'm just now truly starting to understand. You have to really put yourself in uncomfortable situations and set your ego aside and try shit you didn't think you ever would.

    Remember, no one but you will truly know what you've been through. No one but you will know how much you've failed or succeeded. However, what you put out into the world is your choice. You decide how you've gone through life to others. And, if one day, people think you got somewhere without even trying, you've made it. Believe in yourself, for whatever you may be trying to achieve, you got this.

  • @Kaimine08
    @Kaimine08 Před rokem +1

    Look at these streamers, most of them stream 6-7 days a week. That's just what we see, we don't see what goes on in the background.. It's just like a job, life doesn't magically get better when you stop going to work for other people to get money as oppose to just working for yourself. It just has a new set of problems.
    "If you aren't willing to fail, you won't make it."
    People talk as if failure is a bad thing; There is a stark difference between failure and giving up. Giving up is the end. You are done with whatever you're doing. Failure is losing; however, you can try again. Most things you want in life will have a high failure rate; that being stated, just about everything in life can be achieved more than once. If you fail, you can generally try again. People who live their best life learn from failure so they can move on the next time.
