"Turning on the southern fhart" that part killed me hearing Arin go through every word except CHARM.

That would be a great power hour. Wheel of fortune run by the crew, with the phrases being very obscure things Dan and Arin have said (none of the famous meme stuff).

Yeah, as someone not from America, my image of the south is heavy foods, barbecue and hot weather, not alligators swimming in someone's backyard pool.
@@kotarodesu_23 Of course in the end, all of these are generalizations, and there's really tons of different influences in each region with their own fascinating history and blah blah blah. I think the key with florida is that for most of its history it wasn't even considered all that habitable. so it doesn't really have the same old roots as the rest of the south, based on things like building farms and then finding a sun-tolerant race to do the farmwork for you. like i'm pretty sure SPAIN owned it for a long time. and maybe part of it, France.
Florida is its own entity, its charm is strong but intangible, and it’s covered in prehistoric dogs

Arin: Isn't is wild that, like, food is only made out of, like, 5 different things?
Also Arin: Urea. That's... You see urine, right? Well urea is like the atomic version of it is called urea.
Soooo, to both of these: Yes, but actually no.
(Food can be made out of three to four different *macro-nutrients,* which are fatty acids, glucids, amino acids and alcohol. But that's only if you take into account macro-nutrients, a.k.a. what has a caloric intake. You also get water, minerals, vitamins, nucleic acids...
For urea, yes it is the main component of urine. But it is a *molecule,* a combination of atoms. And, well, urine has some other stuff also mixed in.
Thank you all for coming to my Ted Talk.)
I think they should have "Brian Wecht's PhD Fact Check" where the company does some research, and at the end of an episode where one of the boys proclaims science facts, brian pops up to "um actually" them.
This is your friendly neighborhood biochemist signing off!
You were close, but you seem to have substituted 'nutrients' for 'hydrocarbons'
And technically there's five, with nucleic acids in there too.
@@KairuHakubi Thank you for the correction, I was... not on my top game when I wrote this. Although I am not sure nucleic acids have a caloric value.
Also, despite having made a clear mistake using the term "nutrient", I'm not sure the "correct" term would be "hydrocarbon" (Or carbohydrate, for the difference made)
P.S.: After checking my food bio book, I found the term "macro-nutrient", which seems right after a quick internet scouting.
@@NWolfsson ah that makes sense, sure. the macronutrients as opposed to the little things like minerals and individual aminos.
The way I was taught in biochemistry was that those are the main hydrocarbons (and there are a few more over in the alcohol 'family' that include weird shit like esters and such), the molecules that make up organic material, and they all have identical caloric value (though we don't process them the same, like proteins we don't burn for energy unless we're starving) except lipids, which have more per gram.
Issa shame that Arins fun facts are often first tested in front of hundreds of thousands of people, many being nerds who may address his urine and urea misconceptions …
see I feel like if I had an internet show, I would not make those mistakes.
However, I would be sitting there going 'uhhhhh.. ummmm... that stuff...' as I tried to grapple with the game, then dead air, then "the stuff.. the concentrated stuff.. it's like.." dead air, "like if you wanna make a tall cool frosty pitcher of piss, urea is the juice concentrate. then you just add water. and Uric Acid is.. wait hold on.. something about.. wait I have to beat this. Okay, uh, so like that's what comes out of turtles."

I'm the bankruptcy witch. If you ever get bankrupt more than two times just know it's because I'll watch the video 😏
I genuenly would like someone to calculate the odds of all their bankrupts. Cause they seem crazy common.
They got a bankrupt X times over Y rolls, there's 3 2/3 bankrupt spaces on the wheel out of a total of Z spaces ...
The supposed chance is 8 in 72, or 1 in 9 (what's that? 11ish percent?). There are 72 possible results, with 3 for each full Bankrupt wedge, and then 2 for the small slivers surrounding the One Million.
Edit: that's 1 in 9 chance to land on Bankrupt on any given turn. The odds of landing as many times as they did is way lower, especially landing on it multiple times in a row. Also, I could be totally wrong, I did a really basic cursory search on it, and supposedly the One Million is 1 in 72, so I did my math based on that.
@@justinsmart581 You've got it right. It's [(1/9)^how many bankrupts]. It's a pretty arbitrary calculation though, and misses out on a lot of nuance.

The thumbnail makes it look like Dan's and Arin's hairs have grown together into one shared ponytail of flowing glory. Imagine being conjoined like that and, for some reason, just cutting the shared length of hair is extremely dangerous and risky, so you just have to wait for it to grow over the years in order to gain any semblance of independence, but you still have to work around the increasingly massive length of hair.
conjoined twins stuck at the hair is already funny, but the idea of waiting for it to grow long to maximize your effective range is hilarious
