I'm a few years ahead of you age wise Alan and my eye site is going also, Very informative, love the Joe 90 reference took me back to those Saturday mornings. All the Best.
Alan those aren't polarised they are transition lenses Price I paid for varifocal transition lenses in UK was £88 Asda. Get yourself a pair of prescription sunglasses (polarised) for driving, you won't regret it.
Great video and just what I was looking for. I was considering replacing my eyeglasses during my visit to America in October. Judging by what you paid I believe I can save about 50% by buying them in the Philippines.
Well done Alan. I have the variofocal lenses as well. They're excellent. Takes a bit of getting used to looking down with your eyes instead of bending head. Cost was slightly less here in UK.
I always describe to people who dont wear glasses that it's like watching a video on 140p when you're not wearing glasses and 1080p when you put them on.
I spent all my pension on a new pair of glasses in the Philippines! You obviously got the best of the best so they gave you loads of attention and customer service. Back in the UK most people are looking to save money so just an ordinary pair of cheap glasses would do since everything else you need to pay out for is so expensive.
It eventually comes to all of us Alan 😂 depending on the quality of lens that would cost you £600 to £800 in the UK, with posh frames over a grand, so that was a good deal. All the best 👍
You said you needed strong light for reading. Did the optometrist check you for cataracts? Your getting into that age bracket Alan. Ask me how I know lol!
@@khennahsfarm2610 my ex wife just had varifocal lens glasses last month and it came to approx three times what you guys paid, but she chose “designer” frames 🙄😢
I just love seeing you two happy and enjoying life. Thanks Alan

I found that once I started wearing glasses, after 2 years my eyes deteriorated slightly more. As always a very enjoyable and interesting video.

What planet you on
Hi Alan I got a pair similar from specsavers. Without the uv lenses at double the price. You’d be looking at around £300 to £400 in uk
I need reading glasses, i get them from home bargains £1, great video Alan👍👍
They used to do eye tests like that early 2000 that’s well behind
You said you needed strong light for reading. Did the optometrist check you for cataracts? Your getting into that age bracket Alan. Ask me how I know lol!
My daughter has just got some new glasses, without the vary focals or the polorising and they were £300
Alan you look like elton john with those test lenses on
🤣
I nearly spat my tea (dinner) out when he said put your fore Head on there 😂😂😂😂, good job he said head after Alan 😂😂😂😂

Those sockets look a bit like american ones.. what's the voltage over there Alan? 240v 110v ??
Hello Alan

For the ssame glasses
Took 2 weeks to make !!!
700 euros worth I would say , 👍
I got mine 6 months ago .
Couldent put it off any longer .
£600.00 from vision express, £280.00 from Asda same lenses as you that price is for two pairs but ready in 3 weeks orl
boots varifocal with out transition tint £360.00
wow thats pretty steep
I bought a new pair of reading glasses in Cebu City & to my surprise they were so cheap, compared to to NZ prices!
I prefer cheap glasses as I am likely to lose them or sit on them.
What strength are your glasses, from the way you describe your vision without them I guess +1.25 or +1.5 for reading.
Join the club alan
you paid too much that was a UK price but all depends on the frame you choose?
My reading glasses cost £1 from pondland 10yrs ago I use them everyday at work. 😮
Quite often high price is for the frames rather than the lenses here in the UK
The frame is 6k pesos and the lenses cost p10,200

Dude you are not working anymore in the auto repair bussiness ?
No, he's a plumber and a duck and pig farmer now 😂
@@MattyEngland to bad it was verry helpfull
Ian lvcki I don't neeb glasces yit.
Peanuts !
How do the locals afford that price? Need a specsavers for sure there. Hearing aids next for sure. That is aging as I found out.
There's cheap one,5k pesos..but u have to change the lens after two years
