I choosen to passed a dancing exam on this song during an acting formation. At the end, one of the 3 judges asked me « who is this singer ? ». Alan Vega, I said. She told me « You looked like James Dean in flames ». 😊
Absolute class; remember buying first album in 1977 and wondering; what the hell have I just listened to and then played it again and again and again....
My good friend just dropped off the article from The New York Times, of his passing.. Long live Punk, art from the Lower East Side NYC, and many thanks to the legendary Max Fish's on Ludlow St. Cheers!!!
Good for you. But there much out there you ought to incline your ears to. Both in rock and its assorted sub genres and jazz and classical. Anyway, keep poking around CZcams. Follow links and trails like a bloodhound.
"Never been a big fan of music" I can't understand that. I can't understand not liking music. I can understand not liking certain bands and even certain genres. But not liking _music_ itself? It's like not liking oxygen.
+MoonlightDustInc You did an amazing job, love the drums man! Any insight or details on how this song came about and the idea on to cover the original? Has got to be one of my favorite songs.
I saw these guys in NYC. I honestly don't know how they lived through some of their shows back then. Many a projectile flew their way back then. But really there was nothing else like them at the time.
D RolyPolyMan From everything I heard and read Alan used to antagonize the crowd on purpose. It sounds like he thrives on it being chaotic. He would have a motorcycle chain that he would whip onto the stage. Sounds like a hell of a show.
Live in Germany begin of the 80s as an young 15 year old Rockbilly. Than i`ve listen first time the sound of Alan and this Music transforms me from a stupid Crazy cavan fan to a people who listen all kind of good Music every music direction. Thank you Alan Rest in Peace!
saw Suicide play support to The Clash back in 78.. the crowd simply didn't get em.. resulting in Alan Vega sustaining a pretty bad head injury after being hit with a bottle thrown from the crowd.. but unditered the band played on.. x
Saw these guys at the Rat in Boston around '78 then met Alan in NYC when I was friends with Willy & Toots. All art is therapeutic and Alan lived his art.
Always love them they were this Futurist See how many people were inspired by them As well people like Soft cell And few others they Fed off other in many was that some people see as well
It was an honor playing drums on this track & LP......RESPECT to Alan....

Great, now work on your spelling and grammar, shit warden
That's a great story man. 'James Dean In Flames', you're going to remember that for the rest of your life.
Absolute class; remember buying first album in 1977 and wondering; what the hell have I just listened to and then played it again and again and again....

Never been a big fan of music until I heard this. I'm 45 and I think I've finally found a genre I can love. Badass.
45! Gosh! I am 94!

I would love to have seen that!
Yeah, they took a lot of abuse on stage. I’m surprised because they had some decent songs with a good beat.
D RolyPolyMan From everything I heard and read Alan used to antagonize the crowd on purpose. It sounds like he thrives on it being chaotic. He would have a motorcycle chain that he would whip onto the stage. Sounds like a hell of a show.
They were survivors
When they add in a drummer you really begin to hear the rockabilly influence
This song never fails to put a smile on my face.
Gods Speed you'll be missed but your music will live on............ R.I.P
This is what I’ve been looking for, without knowing it.

People just don't understand disruptors in our society. These guys were disruptors but people are stuck in old ways, they missed an opportunity.

end of 2020 and still great. Listening to it the second time round and then again..Can anyone reckomend more?
The music sounds like Sigue Sigue Sputnik' s "Shoot It Up", vocals kinda remind me of The Cramps' Oo We Ah Ah" ...but kinda Roy Orbison. What a trip.

That's what visionaries have to put up with. But Vega stood in there and dared the crowd. Didn't know he died til just now. one brave human being.
It truly is.
