Yes they do, we're so happy you are digging in to some of the older videos. You will definitely gain an understanding of the bulls we've seen pass away, and an overall better sense of what we've studies so far. This was year 8.
Gorgeous photography - and bulls! Definitely one of my favorite videos, Folks! If I'm correct the second bull .... is this is Mr. T - even to I don't see any gold? ;) I just love watching him...he's so very majestic....and sorry, but I'm going to say it ...what a rack on him!!!! ;)) I'd really love to see him go through all the motions of digging a rut pit as it would be quite something to see him swing his antlers (given the sheer width of those things!) from side to side while pounding the pit!!! And then, at around minute 2:04, when he's peering out from those bushes (a GREAT shot!) I swear sometimes, I'm convinced they think they're hiding! Speaking of antlers they are among the most beautiful ever.... Especially his right... the back or underside - I think is as beautiful as what we more commonly see from the front. That left royal tine is incredibly long. A really beautiful video of a really beautiful bull from start to finish...thanks so much! I just rewatched the The Final Takeover where I found him digging a rut pit. HIS version of it - a little out of order and with 2 or 3 side to sides - but I'll take it. Just watching a snippet of the exhausting rut blows my mind - the way their instincts drive them for days with little to no food as they follow the cows. The weight of their antlers and their enormous bulk of their muscle mass ...... it just boggles the mind. Be well and safe travails! On a separate subject, Libby, I wanted to respond to you regarding our conversation about King James and his sleigh hoof condition, but I cannot find the video!!! (I'm extremely technologically challenged ;))) I'll continue to try and locate it....just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.
Hey Mimi what an awesome comment! Mr T without the bling, I know. He keeps it in a safe place during the rut; can't trust those little bulls, ya know. HA. The girls take to him without it. Anyway, we don't have a video of Mr T's sleigh hoof. King James simply retired himself from the rut scene as he was past his prime; we watched him just walk away from his harem of cows one day when Swagger walked in on him! Unheard of! We were slack jawed at that. We were right there for it. That's the last KJ was involved in the rut. It's amazing to watch them work. And yes, they have personalities. King James had a short fuse, NO sense of humor (except for trying to work a camera!) HA that was a riot. Not our gear, that was another photographer that was nearby. we had warned him that KJ was a crank and he'd charge anything on legs and sure enough, KJ charged him and he had to do the 50 yard dash for a tree, leaving his tripod/camera behind. So KJ walked up to it very calmly and gave it nudge. Mr T's rack was a wow that last year, indeed. That tine off the backside of his right paddle is called a death point. I have no idea why. Anyway, sadly that was the last year we saw that amazing beast. We sure do miss him.
He does have a couple of stringers of velvet remaining here; early September. Most had rubbed their velvet off but we did find a bull dripping gobs of it. Elvis in Velvet video. Ghoulish.
