I love talented people talking about their craft.
Same here. It’s so interesting. I kinda wish the Oscars, Grammys, etc had a segment where the performers actually discussed the techniques behind their work. I’d actually watch that, even though I’m talentless.
@@LoneWulf278 you’re not talentless you just have something more unique to find about yourself 😌
@@LoneWulf278 “actor round table” is a good one, and not just actor, but director, musician, etc. they gather on the round table and start asking question and sharing thoughts and idea with each other, amazing ❤
@@j59424 I’ll look for that. Thanks!
OMG YES!!! I've been obsessed with animation lately and watching every making of extra I can find on disney +
The fact she knows what is going on is amazing. She’s a pro
All real singers do
She has the idea but I don’t think she fully understands it
Anyone who sings understands basic mechanics of the voice. They know what works for them and what doesn't.
Yeah so amazing she’s been singing her whole life and knows about singing…gee what a shock omg!!! 🙄🙄🙄
Well duh she better be having been singing since she was a child…
I love that she can break down such a technical thing in a way that's easily understood. She truly understands her instrument.
there's so many great vocal teachers here on youtube, like Eric Arceneaux. But she really broke this down for everybody!!! & it's such a crucial element.. where you place your voice
She truly understands her instrument and is able to help guide other people through mastering their own instrument. I think she's an excellent coach and just an extraordinary and phenomenal singer.

@@priscilaazzaro1118that would be Mariah. Love xtina but her runs get sloppy
She basically explained how Britney produces her nasal baby voice. 😅
But this just highlights Britney's natural talent as well since she CHOOSES to sing this way.
@@ladysasha90 no one doubts Brittney's talent, there are videos of her singing like Christina at a young age until she had to put on the baby girl personality
Britney ain't the only one who sings like that. That's all these new pop stars. Besides Britney's real voice is deeper
@@ladysasha90 I would love to know how her career would have gone had she kept that lower soulful texture in her singing. Choosing the higher cutesy voice set her into a much younger fan base.
@@ladysasha90 she can’t sing any other way she’s not a singer
Her face singing kinda sounds like her version of baby voice Britney 😅
SHE RLLY DO SOUND LIKE HER
Yes, I thouth the same hahahaha
@@camm7985 get out of here. A lot of singer nowadays do that, not just Britney, Katy Perry does that too.
❤🥰beautiful strong voice
Nasle throat
Just realized I'm a face singer and that's why I don't have the vocal control I want😭
Same^^
Same 😂 rethinking my entire approach
@@juvon102 I've been thinking for a few years that I need to just throw the whole damn voice away and start over lol
It is called head voice. It is totally fine.
@Jayedith I have a good head voice and know what it is but it's very loud, high and resonating. That's not always what I'm going for. To hit clear lower notes, I have to use my chest and lower my larynx a bit.
The switch between her “talking voice” when she says: “opening - my throat” and her voice changes completely is AMAZING
Her natural light voice is breathtaking
Yes wish she used her natural voice more often
@@Rednaxela137 either tone is natural. They're just in different registers.
@@Aluna23 no her singing style is darkening and making her voice big. She’s only used her natural voice a few times like “I’m a genie in a bottle” and once in one of her duet performances for “says something”
@@Rednaxela137 no... she has range. There's different registers.
@aluna23 no she is emulating a voice that is not natural for her. You're distorting what "register" means. Register is a low, mid and high, basically, the vocal range partitioned. In the XTina's case, she is fakening a deeper voice pulling her larynx to extremes. To have that darker effect she uses to tense her throat down all the time in a way when she talks in the middle of the show, her spoken voice seems like a demon coming out. When she wants to do a high belting (which her and her fans don't know how to stop) she pulls her throat up so much in order to eventually hit a certain note that her projection sounds really strained and thin, pretty much like a dying cat... totally dissonant from the robust voice she was trynna emulating. So yeah, XTina is kinda fake, that's why she's out of tune and inconsistent every single performance!
She knows what she's saying but she was born with that raw talent
@@silentvoice4970most people don't want to see that. It's not all about talent, you are right.
MmM
@@silentvoice4970 I agree, people tend to devalue work so much. I mean no one says about Bill Gates like 'he was born with this programming talent" or whatever, but with creative jobs it's always 'oh she was born with the talent"

I like how she explains it in layman's terms. ❤ Is easy to follow and understand
Resonance is the word she’s looking for
That part
I can appreciate her using more accessible language; she conveyed her meaning.
@@angelagriffin8441 yeah agreed when you automatically use the dictionary terms for parts of your craft, no one is going to be drawn in as quickly nor understand/level with you when you need them to. i say this as a writer who has tutored people in poetry and nonfic… if i just say they need to work on their devices or meter or symbolism or something, they won’t be focused on working on it, they’ll just be overwhelmed by ~all the tools they need to use~ rather than the true point: learning how to use the _optional_ tools they _have_ due to the form of art they’re using! sorry this comment wasn’t supposed to be long 😑 just wanted to say why it was important for her to explain it in basic terms.. as i explain way too much

She has really paid attention her entire life. You can tell she has practiced and tried and taken criticism in a constructive way. She was born with an amazing voice but she’s also put in a ton of worked and gained a ton of knowledge that she’s sharing.
I like that she finally said opening her throat. I coach my students not to put it in their throat bc they’ll tighten and pinch.
Exactly. She demonstrates vocal damage quite a bit. Voice teacher here too btw! Finally the comment I was looking for! Lol
Once I learned how to open my throat I was amazed at how much better I could sing. A choir director helped coach us to have better technique
@@JerkyPuck thaaaank you! I've been looking for these kind of comments for years about her technoque
She was so amazing at instructing how to do the different things with her voice. She is very knowledgeable and those were great lessons that these people got to learn. I’d rather have her back than Reba.
wjy does reba have to be conjured into the cpnversation😭
@@supermanjersey Well, first, conjured is not the right word, Reba is not a ghost or Spirit and I’m not a witch so I can’t call upon her. Second, Reba, who I do like actually, is overhyped. After learning that most of her biggest hits were covers originally done by someone else made her famous. There are plenty of other country singers and song writers they could have put in there. Last, I said it because I do not think that she will be a good coach. Christina is teaching her people on the team in this clip lessons that they can use even if they don’t win, not just survive another week. I just don’t see Reba doing that.
It’s my opinion and I am allowed to have it. Others will think different and that is fine. I’m not sure what has happened in the world that makes someone come at you for having an opinion of your own. It’s how the world works, it does not mean the world is ending. It’s certainly nothing to weep over!
Not every professionals would be able to explain this that's the fact. Many are great singers, yet they couldn't teach because have no skill in explaining. She goes into so nice details in anatomy what is for a singer absolutely understandable.
She is so professional & flexible in her style . What a talent . 💚I spent $4000 in lessons nearly 25 years ago but Christina made more sense then my old singing teacher mind blown 😮🙏💗
From the sound of it, that's just a bad teacher. $4k knowledge < $0 knowledge? 😭 sis, I'm sorry you had to go through it
She's so underrated.
All her types of singing is really pretty
The fact she says I hate face singing like this and then proceeds to sound like Britney had me dead 😂
The control she has amazes me
Thank you, Christina. I hate face singing also. I have no idea why it started but it needs to stop.
She hates face singing, I hate that I can't sing.
Exactly! She can sing with her face, partly in the nose, deeper down. She can probably sing with her ears and toes to, while I don't even have a voice to move around in my body. Not fair!
Her voice deepens as she prepares to sing from her throat. His face is so fascinated by Christina just speaking to him
😂😂😂 Was that shade?
Christina has one of *the best,* most beautiful singing voices!

As somone who can sing her explanation makes perfect sense and is really good at showing us
This is a TRUE master of her craft…. Making it look so effortless… the students look of awe says it all!
Holy crap, I actually understood what she was talking about and absolutely adjusted how I sing. Thanks Xtina!
I love how even her “face singing” sounds better then most.
“Face singing” is actually the appropriate way to sing in general. It’s actually called singing into the mask. And is different from nasalty which is what I think she was trying to do, but she didn’t.
You know what’s funny? There’s a lot of comments talking about how her airy/baby voice sounds like Brittney spears but if you listen to OLD auditions of Britney’s she actually has a VERY strong voice (or she used to) but then her management wanted her to keep that “young” thing going (ew) so she built her career on that more baby voice .
She’s a an actual professional singer and really one of the best vocalist of our times❤
She KNOOOOWS HER STUFF!! lol ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love her as a vocal coach sorry not sorry
She's amazing! Her voice gives me chills
An absolute master of her craft...💖🙌🏼💖🙌🏼
Omg she's gorgeous
It is soooo impressive the control she has over her vocal cords and the knowledge she has acquired throughout her carrier. This is the difference between an amateur and a pro. Respect! 💖
She knows her stuff really well.
knows how to talk about it, but not how to do it
@@JDUCSUDMU38948 better than people hating on her though lol
@@JDUCSUDMU38948 She definitely knows how to do it. I'm more convinced than ever after hearing her live recently. Even the "bad technique" moments (in a traditional vocal pedagogy meaning) are deliberate. She has control of her sound and when to stop before it damages her.
I mean, she's only been singing her whole life.
@@JDUCSUDMU38948She knows how to do it. When she was younger, though, she seemed to like singing really loudly, which made me not like most of her songs, but I love her voice. Her voice always reminded me of Aretha Franklin, though Aretha would control the volume better than young Christina.
I love Christina so much, she truly knows her instrument and it’s amazing to watch her explain
She just taught me something. I held my nose and sang and I felt the tone in my nasal cavity then I recognized and changed it.
She is so knowledgeable about her craft
I mean she's been singing her whole life 😒 why is it a surprise that she knows about what she's doing?.
100% correct. Many celebrities will have no clue what they’re doing. They’ll tell you to sing all day and sing with your heart to improve.
Oh so thats why I sound horrible when I sing. No more face singing for me
Damn her voice! I forgot how good she is
She would make a great teacher for someone with ASD or ADHD
Absolutely agree
I feel my throat chakra opening up when she speaks. The universe designed her to be a great communicator. And if you notice no surprise, she's wearing blue.
How do you feel it opening up? Genuinely wondering. Im trying to learn how to be more in tune with my chakras.
??? 😂
She's a lightworker
So face singing sounds like she just SUNG the words and the second one was I SANG the words.
The fact that she says "hold it in your throat" demonstrates why it's correct to use the correct terminology.
A master class!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Her voice is strong and awesome
She would be an incredible vocal instructor. Christina is a recording engineer’s dream because her chops are fully realized and she knows how to get any timbre she wants.
Find the video of her singing A Man’s World by James Brown. Astonishing singer.
The last time she sung the chorus it sounded like Britney Spears real voice!!!
I love it and love them both
I am wondering if she understands resonance. Both are facial resonance. One is resonating in the eyes, not the throat, but she brings in more chest voice for a heavier timbre. Singing from your throat (which she isn't doing here btw) will give you a vocal nodule and you will need surgery. Also, you don't lose volume singing nasally. It's actually a powerful resonance and safe one- I just don't like the sound of it personally.
THANK YOU. Honestly shocking how little of this is in the comments. People will truly believe anything a celebrity says
Keeping it in your throat is not exactly right. At least from what I’ve been taught. I was always taught you wanna keep your voice basically in your lower abs because singing from the throat causes tension. But maybe she just worded it weird and I didn’t understand
No you’re right. She’s explaining it in a way that makes sense to her, and it’s not really great for the general public. Using your mask (or "face singing”) is how the great vocalist throughout history have been able to have such powerful belting, and healthy notes. If the general public starts using their throat (which shouldn’t be incorporated consciously) there are going to wreck their voices. So don’t start singing using your throat unless you want to end your singing career before it even starts. Singing with the throat is probably going to end with vocal nodules and inflamed throat. 😂
I'm not a singer but I am a listener😅 I definitely prefer the throat singing clarity and power VS that nasal muffled sound. Which is way overdone in much of pop music these days.
having Christina as your voice coach must be otherwordly
Your songs, and when you sing, it's always good.
subtle shade at Britney
She’s so talented and beautiful, why don’t we hear anymore of her stuff?
New Spanish album 💿 out on iTunes 3-sections create the entire album “Aguilera” another masterpiece. She’s also working on her next English album currently she said in her concert in Chile’ a few weeks ago.
Brings me to tears with her voice with 1 verse. Chills. Love her for life and if she only knew what her music helped me get through.
Her voice always gorgeous
This is what I want from her. This tells me that she knows what she is doing then though she is not technically trained. Or maybe she is. Either way, this.
It's not supposed to be nasally just because it's in the face. You're supposed to sing in the mask/face, that's where the resonators are which allows for healthy belting with maximum resonance
I was looking for this comment. That's exactly what I've learned... that mask placement is the healthiest and most resonant and nasal placement is a completely different thing while throat placement isn't necessarily more resonant and its rather damaging to your voice. The latter is Christina's style but I'm surprised she would teach someone else to do that as if it's ideal. It's not.
Also, you can still sing with an open, relaxed throat while having mask placement.
Mask placement is not real. It’s a sympathetic vibration because that’s not really how anatomically the voice vibrates. The throat is the primary resonator. Then this vibrations travel up the pharynx and then into the mask. If you try to place it into the mask you lose a low larynx/ open throat and get a squished sound. Then you have to modify vowels and open your mouth up, down, sideways or whichever way in order to create a illusion of space because of the lack of pharyngeal space. What’s she’s teaching is healthier than mask singing. That’s why she’s almost fifty and singing with a strong voice.
@@jonlacayo92 it is real.
@@jonlacayo92hmm, Christina's vocals can be strained quite a lot of the time.
Concentrating on mask placement correctly should open the throat automatically - if done correctly of course. That takes time to develop the sensations however.
Finally someone who actually knows what they are talking about. 😅
I love this girl, she's a freaking power house! she's sharing her craft...

I am #team_Britney my whole life, but Christina is so so talented 👏👏👏
Britney is an entertainer, can't sing to save her life.
Beautiful & immensely talented
She’s great!
You’re giving it depth
It doesn’t matter which way you sing your songs because they are all great! She has a strong and beautiful voice and I feel that she doesn’t get enough recognition.
It does matter if you've been professionally taught to sing classically. I sang competitively for years. And it is ingrained into us that, that is "wrong". So, you automatically critique what you've been taught not to do. You just can't help it. Bc technically it is wrong. It isn't bad to want to be "right" or to sing the correct way. It can be a preference I suppose in pop music, but that doesn't make it correct. I can see that some ppl don't feel that way. But, I agree with her, personally.
I LIKE face singing.. Sometimes it suits a song better. NOT EVERY SONG has to be belted out like full blown Whitney Houston. The best way to sing for everyone is to use all three stages of singing that she's referring to. One.. face singing.. two throat singing. three.. gut singing..You can use all three to achieve a more flavorfull song. Not just one sound thru out an entire song. Think Prince.. Falcetto to Alto in every song.
Good advice 👏
I hope they will put her back again in The voice She's a very good mentor She's a very good teacher I really like how she coached everyone in her team and she is very approachable when it comes to music topic like you can talk to her all day long about singing and her love for music
Sounds so much richer when she holds it in her throat.❤
She's an amazing coach!
I love her so much. Such an amazing vocalist and she knows how to control every single note. Queen
I learn so much from these shorts.
Girl. You are BY FAR The BEST SINGER IF YOUR TIME!!!
Nose and face singing is how early classical voice training works. I always felt like it held me back from opening up. My voice teacher convinced me that I would ruin my vocal cords. There is an interesting book called "how to sing" by Lilly Lehman, an old opera singer and she speaks of an aim for each note in a different place in body and as it gets higher, head. Worth a look. I learned to hit a high C from it. Can't do it anymore buuut

She’s referring mask singing. It’s used a lot in opera
For singing I’ve learn it’s about relaxation and letting it flow.

Her tone is precious, I'd listen to every vocal advice she gives.
Ok but she sound beautiful either way.
