    • @lucasrocha2951
      @lucasrocha2951 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @aluna23 no she is emulating a voice that is not natural for her. You're distorting what "register" means. Register is a low, mid and high, basically, the vocal range partitioned. In the XTina's case, she is fakening a deeper voice pulling her larynx to extremes. To have that darker effect she uses to tense her throat down all the time in a way when she talks in the middle of the show, her spoken voice seems like a demon coming out. When she wants to do a high belting (which her and her fans don't know how to stop) she pulls her throat up so much in order to eventually hit a certain note that her projection sounds really strained and thin, pretty much like a dying cat... totally dissonant from the robust voice she was trynna emulating. So yeah, XTina is kinda fake, that's why she's out of tune and inconsistent every single performance!

After learning that most of her biggest hits were covers originally done by someone else made her famous. There are plenty of other country singers and song writers they could have put in there. Last, I said it because I do not think that she will be a good coach. Christina is teaching her people on the team in this clip lessons that they can use even if they don’t win, not just survive another week. I just don’t see Reba doing that.
      It’s my opinion and I am allowed to have it. Others will think different and that is fine. I’m not sure what has happened in the world that makes someone come at you for having an opinion of your own. It’s how the world works, it does not mean the world is ending. It’s certainly nothing to weep over!

    I am wondering if she understands resonance. Both are facial resonance. One is resonating in the eyes, not the throat, but she brings in more chest voice for a heavier timbre. Singing from your throat (which she isn't doing here btw) will give you a vocal nodule and you will need surgery. Also, you don't lose volume singing nasally. It's actually a powerful resonance and safe one- I just don't like the sound of it personally.

    Keeping it in your throat is not exactly right. At least from what I’ve been taught. I was always taught you wanna keep your voice basically in your lower abs because singing from the throat causes tension. But maybe she just worded it weird and I didn’t understand

    • @moptop4355
      @moptop4355 Před rokem +4

      No you’re right. She’s explaining it in a way that makes sense to her, and it’s not really great for the general public. Using your mask (or "face singing”) is how the great vocalist throughout history have been able to have such powerful belting, and healthy notes. If the general public starts using their throat (which shouldn’t be incorporated consciously) there are going to wreck their voices. So don’t start singing using your throat unless you want to end your singing career before it even starts. Singing with the throat is probably going to end with vocal nodules and inflamed throat. 😂

    I'm not a singer but I am a listener😅 I definitely prefer the throat singing clarity and power VS that nasal muffled sound. Which is way overdone in much of pop music these days.

    It's not supposed to be nasally just because it's in the face. You're supposed to sing in the mask/face, that's where the resonators are which allows for healthy belting with maximum resonance

    • @imaginativegirl126
      @imaginativegirl126 Před rokem +32

      I was looking for this comment. That's exactly what I've learned... that mask placement is the healthiest and most resonant and nasal placement is a completely different thing while throat placement isn't necessarily more resonant and its rather damaging to your voice. The latter is Christina's style but I'm surprised she would teach someone else to do that as if it's ideal. It's not.
      Also, you can still sing with an open, relaxed throat while having mask placement.

    • @jonlacayo92
      @jonlacayo92 Před rokem +7

      Mask placement is not real. It’s a sympathetic vibration because that’s not really how anatomically the voice vibrates. The throat is the primary resonator. Then this vibrations travel up the pharynx and then into the mask. If you try to place it into the mask you lose a low larynx/ open throat and get a squished sound. Then you have to modify vowels and open your mouth up, down, sideways or whichever way in order to create a illusion of space because of the lack of pharyngeal space. What’s she’s teaching is healthier than mask singing. That’s why she’s almost fifty and singing with a strong voice.

      @Morning404 Před rokem +14

      @@jonlacayo92hmm, Christina's vocals can be strained quite a lot of the time.
      Concentrating on mask placement correctly should open the throat automatically - if done correctly of course. That takes time to develop the sensations however.

      It does matter if you've been professionally taught to sing classically. I sang competitively for years. And it is ingrained into us that, that is "wrong". So, you automatically critique what you've been taught not to do. You just can't help it. Bc technically it is wrong. It isn't bad to want to be "right" or to sing the correct way. It can be a preference I suppose in pop music, but that doesn't make it correct. I can see that some ppl don't feel that way. But, I agree with her, personally.

  • @piaparadis1253
    @piaparadis1253 Před rokem +4

    I LIKE face singing.. Sometimes it suits a song better. NOT EVERY SONG has to be belted out like full blown Whitney Houston. The best way to sing for everyone is to use all three stages of singing that she's referring to. One.. face singing.. two throat singing. three.. gut singing..You can use all three to achieve a more flavorfull song. Not just one sound thru out an entire song. Think Prince.. Falcetto to Alto in every song.

    Nose and face singing is how early classical voice training works. I always felt like it held me back from opening up. My voice teacher convinced me that I would ruin my vocal cords. There is an interesting book called "how to sing" by Lilly Lehman, an old opera singer and she speaks of an aim for each note in a different place in body and as it gets higher, head. Worth a look. I learned to hit a high C from it. Can't do it anymore buuut
