Idk. KP1 was probably the best dlc pack next to mkx horror pack. If the line up is true I don't see it being enough to revive the game
They lost me when they decided it was ok to spit on the legacy and lore of these klassic characters by doing all these unnecessary gender swaps. I've been wanting Cyrax and Sektor to be playable since MK9, and they're FINALLY bringing them back, but now they're female? Yeah, they won't get another dime out of me. They certainly don't care about us anymore.

I would keep expectations very low. I would also not expect that other Kombat Pack with the Kombat Kids and Jade to ever happen. Unless the casual audience comes back, this game is done after its 2nd year.

Hopefully it's back to normal when mortal kombat 2 comes out. I was so hyped for mk1 and it's the biggest let down ever the games story was good but that's literally it.

I just wish WB would let NRS keep an MK game running for a long time such as Tekken and Street Fighter. Near decade between iterations with updates always. It'd have about as many characters as Armageddon but it'd be good 😭

The game needs a complete overhaul. New modes, massive changes to Invasions, a team/tag/solo selector, added gear & unique costume options, new "Ality" type, ect. Anything short of truly bringing an MK1, 2.0 new era (new game experience) type of upgrade... And this game will officially be done by the end of its 2nd year!

What would it take for #MortalKombat1 to bring me back? All those missing modes. Online rooms, practice, KOTH practice, a curated experience in Invasions, more than 1 outro(kills me we only have 1 now) a permanent 50% decrease in MTX prices, a roadmap, and a public apology… to start.

Look, every Mortal Kombat game in NetherRealm Studios follows the guest character genre. For example:
Mortal Kombat 9: Kratos as a PlayStaion exclusive character and Freddy Krueger as a horror icon.
Mortal Kombat X: Jason Voorhees and Leatherface Slaughter as horror icons and Predator and Alien as 80’s action Sci-Fi characters.
Mortal Kombat 11: The Terminator, RoboCop, and Rambo as 80’s action heroes and The Joker and Spawn as comic book antiheroes.
Mortal Kombat 1: Omni-Man, Peacemaker, and Homelander as comic book antiheroes who are from streaming series (Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max).
I think Mortal Kombat 1 should be focusing on getting more comic book antiheroes who are from streaming series (Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max). But if Doom Slayer does ever get into the game, I think video game antiheroes could be the next guest character theme for the next Mortal Kombat game. And don’t forget that Ed Boon loves to joke around with us.

The only way I see Sektor's genderswap bullshit making the slightest sense at all is if it's actually Kira this time around, then I'll understand. But if anything, they better make male premier skins for Sektor and Cyrax. Otherwise Cyber Smoke is getting mained to all hell.

I hope they bring something to the table I've defended the game alot since release and not gave a negative opinion despite having a few gripes but I finally admitting recently it's just lacking. I only play it at the end of an invasions cycle to get all the invasions done before the next one drops then leave the game until the end of that invasions season. Mk11 and mkx I went back to very frequently. Mk1 just... idk its just not fun...
I just realized it's getting revealed three days after the release of takeda.
I really hope we hear something about this supposed MK Kollection that might be happening.

I personally can’t wait to see what’s shown at SDCC even if it’s only a small clip of the expanded story mode. Plus we can finally get true confirmation of who will actually be the new DLC characters in this expanded story and in this new Kombat pack

I think it will be different game modes. Regular fighting mode. Kameo fighting mode. And maybe a mixed power mode? In invasions they have mixed powers going on so maybe we will be able to choose 2 powers for 1 fighter as a mode.

Honestly the stuff about Cyrax and Sektor kinda ruins this for me. If they wanted to add more females to the roster (which I totally get because there’s only what, like 7 total?) why wouldn’t they add characters like Jade or Sareena? Sareena especially should never have been a kameo, people have been asking for her to come back for years.
EDIT: I’d even take Skarlet, her voice actress absolutely killed it in the last game.

Would be nice to have a Konquest mode as Invasions end. They are considering a Tag Mode, because many are asking.
1v1 needs to return with the option for kameo assistance during 1v1 and kameo characters playable for a bigger roster and more options more versatility stage fatalities tag team mode mk9 edition animalities

July 22nd.
The end of the Season of the Reptile/Season of the Shapeshifter/Season of Justin Bieber, is July 22nd, with only 12 days left to its name, this will be the FIRST time a Kameo comes out at the end of the Season instead of a Fighter.
THEN, on July 29th, we will get our precious Takahashi boy, Takeda.
It's already been confirmed that Ferra will come out on the same day as Takeda. She was supposed to come out sooner but got delayed.

I beat every (Invasions Seasons) so far even though it was extremely boring, I pushed myself through it though.
But honestly I wish they give us more XP for characters.
Because I’m nowhere near done yet lvl them up to full mastery.
Hope this can reel me back in. Ive had no taste for Mk1 for a while
I'm fine with them doing more content, though I'm most interested in the story expansion and I'm still hoping for some MK1 action figures.
KP2 is the story expansion guest kameo fighter and dlc KP2 characters and 3 returning finishers and animality then upcoming season of Invasions Mode new skins and mini game.

Im pretty sure that they will give us a new 6 or less characters, maybe all "legendary" skins, and maybe new finishers like animality, or friendship. Maybe story expanssion. But all of this will cost us like a new game.
What would get me playing again?
In no particular order:
- a second customisable gear piece for SOME characters. Ones with masks should always have the mask as a gear piece, and if they have a weapon, that should be one as well.
- PAUSE MAPS IN INVASIONS (actually, I lied, this is number 1 for me)
- two or three equipable variations. Doesn't have to be movesets, even if it's just a couple of costumes.
- being able to select an alternate colour at the select screen again.
- AI battles in towers. I don't have time to grind this stuff and MK11 had it pretty good letting us set our character as AI so that we can do something else while it's playing for us. Yeah, know it defeats the purpose, but after having it, taking it away feels like we've been scolded for using it.
I don't play online so I've got no idea what issues there are there
Tag team mode would have been better
id play mk1 again if we got motor kombat or chess kombat again those are my 2 faves

The next game is probably in the early stages so I can see them ending MK1 content after KP2 and the expansion story early so that they can work on the next game which I’m betting is either a MK spinoff or another MK/Injustice game.
I honestly haven’t touched the game since June 6th and don’t think this expansion/kombat pack 2 can reel me back in. Especially if this ends up being between $40 and $50. MK11 was so much better than 1 in every way content wise (gameplay feels smoother in 1 I’ll give it that). I could honestly just play towers of times for hours and not get bored. I get bored after 30 mins with invasion
They really need to do what you’re saying as at the moment it’s a steaming dumpster fire but what you have said would definitely save it

The Only Thing that would make me want to play MK1 is if the Freaking WIFI WAS WORKING AGAIN, anyway As Takeda and Kameo Ferra are Dropping in July 23 and the Takeda Trailer is predicted to be in Tuesday, this could be great news to see what MK1 Expansion Story and what KP2 will be, the Aftermath Story has to have 3 or 5 New Characters before KP2 because if this is Year 2 and we are expecting more for Years to Come, this Game might have a Future and because Homie is in the Game and Peacemaker has a Judge Helmet, what if Karl Urban plays as Judge Dreed in MK1’s Expansion Story?
Apparently when the aftermath comes out, that’s when kp2 starts according to leaks
