Fact: Japan's crossing's alarms go quieter when the gates are down so you can listen for trains.
Thanks for the fact, that's interesting to know :)
I have this route and its very well made. I would like to see more Japanese trains and routes come out in the future for Train Simulator. Including some Shinkansen lines.
I agree, I'd love to see more Japanese route made, including the Tokyo - Hakone route which came with the original Microsoft Train Simulator.
I also love the original MSTS kyushu railway.
Same here mate. I am surprised that route hasn't been done :/.
Sadly the japanese are obsessed with BVE for some strange reason. A ton of routes and rolling stock for that simulator, but almost none for MSTS, Trainz and TS
Fun fact : In 2004 Indonesia ordered some JR 103's to operate express commuter trains in Jakarta
The second alarm that you hear for the signalling system does happen in real life. It is used as an audible warning to the driver that the next signal will be a red one.
Also IIRC in Japan a yellow signal halves the speed limit.
Thanks for the information, that's really helpful :)
The ATS alarm at 19:03, please let me explain briefly.
First, there's an alarm which keeps ringing until the captain Acknowledge it. If it's ringing for 5 seconds then the emergency break will be apply by train itself.
Second, the alarm keeps ringing after captain Acknowledge the first one is notifying the captain has to stop the train BEFORE NEXT SIGNAL which supposed as a red signal
Here's a link that might help you understand what i have explained:
czcams.com/video/b-8Zkt5oOMI/video.html (江差線 矢不来信号所 スーパー白鳥 下り 停止)
The ATS alarm active at 0:35 at this linked video
Thanks for the information, that's very helpful.
They`re are 7 preserved 103 sets in Japan, KuHa 103-1 is at Kyoto Railway Museum, KuHa 103-525 is stored at Toshiba factory iFuchu Tokyo, KuHa 103-713 is preserved at the Railway Museum in Saitama Saltama, front end only, KuMoHa 103-18 is stored at Mino-Ota Depot in Minokamo, Gifu, KuMoHa 103-58 is used at the Toshiba factory in Fuchu, Tokyo, KuMoHa 103-110 is used for training purposes at the Osaka Prefectural Firefighting College in Dalto, Osaka, and KuMHa 103-147 is privately preserved in Ibaraki Prefecture. from what I have learned,
Thanks for the info! That's quite interesting :)
if they have the NEX train it would be cool to see that.
停車中は200kPa以上にするんだゾ(Brake pressure should be 200kPa or more when you are stopping.)
54:15 Savage train driver. He could've waited another 30 sec at least.
By the way: It may interest you that the turning around procedure at Kamiuchi was removed when the station was moved in 2007. The reason was apparently that after they made train drivers change ends when doing this (until 2006, the driver reversed in the "wrong" cab while the guard was instructing him), drivers kept forgetting to turn off the ATP when leaving a cab....
Thanks for the information, that's quite interesting. That turnaround procedure certainly seemed cumbersome to say the least.
Thank you for posting. Buying this addon. Love the Japanese routes.
I appreciate the work you do making these vids,They are very good, and motivate me to play without the HUD too,Thanks alot mate,I do hope you get paid for doing this,You should be working for the railways, the knowledge you have is outstanding,Cheers..
Thank you, I really appreciate it. I certainly hope to work for the railways in the future! :)
I am used to these videos being calming and relaxing, then all of a sudden *_CRACK_* yes it scared me.
the train reminds me of the train that bought me to inari on my last holiday to Japan
Hey, PTG, you did a good job with the syllables in the pronunciations!
Thanks! I'm not familiar with Japanese at all, so it was a lot of guess work :)
You forgot to point at everything. Or maybe you did off-screen.
What would be the point of that
point
@@milkandduckrailway323 im sorry but that makes no sense what so ever
Cameron Law the purpose of pointing at everything is a trick Japanese railways use, where you point at things, like doors or signals, and say what you are doing, it somehow makes you more focused, it's been called the point and call system
@@detroit_2200 no im rellying to the guy who says did you point everything our or did you do it off screen im saying to the person there is no point of pointing everything out off screen but yes i should make it more clear
I know this is an old video, but just wanted to let you know that the bing bong alarm you get until you've stopped is a reminder/warning to the driver that they are approaching a red signal. Not sure if you know by now or not, but you weren't doing anything wrong at all. Would love to see another Japanese route learning video in the future. Japanese scenery is very nice in TSxx I find.
those are some nice suburb houses.....
And you said your Prenauction is bad that sounded spot on pete well done on the video
The JR 103 Was also send to indonesia in 2004 And last trip in 2016
I don't have a question, but I have some useful information for the Maria's Pass video: Before departing a station, blow the horn two times and then put the bell on. When arriving at a station have the bell. When you pass a W sign give two long, one short, one long horn blast of the horn. It should last as you go through the crossing. The Audio Shack sound pack that we have has a quillable horn. Use N to quill. I also recommend using the throttle while using a very small amount of brakes while stopping because the brakes are too strong. I would recommend that you swap the locomotives in the scenario editor so that the one without the crew is leading because the P42DC with the crew has the Head End Power (HEP) and should be closer to the train. I hope this will be of some help. I am looking forward to this video. Thanks for using my suggestion. There is a sound pack for the Amtrak Superliners: railworksamerica.com/index.php/download-library/sounds-enhancements?view=document&id=2206:superliner-and-surfliner-sound-set-beta-v0-1&catid=25:sounds
Thanks for the information. I was already aware of the horn rules, though almost always seem to time it wrong when approaching crossings. I either seem to start the horn sequence too early or too late. What is the purpose of quilling the horn? With the Audio Shack sounds I've got the HEP sounds installed. Won't that apply to all locos? The video will hopefully be coming within the next few weeks. Due to the scale and length of the video, it is taking a lot longer than average to learn and record, so I will be doing it once I've got a break from uni assignments.
PTGRail The HEP is only on the locomotive with the crew inside, so put it in the back. I would use the quilling before the full horn. I also use both the quill and the horn together to make it sound better. I don't know the "purpose" of quilling.
I've got a scenario on Steam Workshop called EC 87 Leonardo Da Vinci (Milan > Munich) which takes place on the Mittenwaldbahn route. If you want to use that scenario in a route learning guide video on the Mittenwaldbahn, then feel free to use it
When I get that route, I may consider using your scenario :)
they need a Dovetail Japan or some other company to do these simulated routes. d love to see Japan from rail.
What?!!?!? No "Hello CZcams"???
Haha, I decided to change things up a bit :p
Love that route. Great for hudless driving.
Too bad the rain effect where the wiper does not cover is so poor. I don't remember that on other trains... may have to check that.
Japanese, when written in English letters, is generally extremely easy to pronounce. Simply, every letter is pronounced.
Japanese railroad my favorite foreign railroad. I live in United States. Trains similar but not exactly.
Awesome as always
Thank you. :)
PTGRail I like your videos very much! Your english accent is a pleasure to hear.
Btw, did anyone other than me noticed how in Japan things are always filled with those hieroglyphic style stuffs?
Paolo Pellegrino what do you mean by hieroglyphics?
Ramsey Lafosse those signs all over the cab
@@paolopellegrino9915 Do you mean Japanese?
@@paolopellegrino9915 aka the Japanese language :)
cool video
Nice train from japan
hey man whats your FOV set to? as in do u do one set back farther in the launch options on steam?
It's set to 85, though I zoomed in one notch on the mouse wheel for this particular train.
Perhaps I might do a Japanese movie about a Train Crash on the way from Sakurai to Gojo in a Storm in a Hurricane,
Can you do this route?
Amsterdam - Rotterdam 🇳🇱
Train - NS ICNG 🇳🇱
Great video by the way but just a quick question, is that something new in TS, dynamic weather that changes half way through a route, I have never sent that before?
It's done via LUA scripting - something I know very little about!
Also Pete are you planning to do some of the Chineise HighSpeed Railways for a Route Learning Video?
Potentially. We will have to see what the future brings. :)
Do you have any idea of how to turn the alarm off on this train
Fun Fact: Japan Uses the Standard Gauge Too, But only on Shinkansen Lines
Some of the private companies use standard gauge also. The Hankyu Railway is an example.
so good awesome
Would you consider doing more Japanese routes? What's your perspective on the Japanese rail system?
He has already done the only other Japanese route which is currently in Train Simulator :/.
Is this one of the included scenarios or did you create your own?
Not bad with the pronunciation of the Japanese stations here.
i've got this line, when i arrive at takada, 2 alarms begin, the first is long and the following is bitonal, how can i stop this second alarm, please
I am looking to buy TS to drive in Japan, is this a modpack or a dlc or is it just with the base game?
Fuckin hell 3000 trains built
During that rainstorm, shouldn't you be using BOTH sets of wipers to increase visibility? Also, does the wiper just have the one speed or does it have multiple speeds?
I hadn't thought of that as the view from the other window doesn't seem to make much difference. Unfortunately it's just a one speed wiper as far as I'm aware.
right hand wiper is a manual one..
#MariasPass my question is; what are your computer specifications/previous specs, also, what recording/editing software do you use??
Thanks, I will add that to the list :)
Pls help me out how do I make the ats noise to go away
you forgot to point and call, oh wait nvm
The announcer is dead inside
Can someone help me how to raise the pentograph...
I’m interested in playing train simulators placed in Japan, which game/mod/dlc is this?
Hey Pablo, this is Train Simulator 2017 (soon to be 2018) available on Steam. There are three Japanese add on routes now available on there for this game I believe.
Would it be possible to do a few more steam trains?
It's possible but a lot more challenging to drive with the HUD. It's something I'm considering for the future, though. :)
PTGRail thanks my son watches all your videos everyday he has them on
What pc do you use because my FPS is terrible
William Hernandez so is mine.
Is this DLC?
I've always wanted to take that Train From Kuala Lumpa to Bangkok , Some journey that is Peter
I bet that would be quite the journey! I'm going on a European rail adventure next month which I'm quite looking forward to - Hamburg to Budapest, via Berlin, Prague, and Vienna. :)
JAPAN!?
It makes a nice change from the usual routes :p
It seems I'm fourth, lol
stop the ride i want to get off
五条なんてねーよ!
