- My RC de Havilland Tiger Moth biplane | Old school Glow fuel Laser 90 power | Onboard video
Superb warm Sunday weather to get out my biplane and throw it around. It was a little breezy at 15mph but that made it even more fun !
I'm sure someone will notice that one of my rigging wires came undone. It's only cosmetic so no harm done. I noticed on landing.
Onboard video captured using the Insta360 ONE X2 action camera.

She's a beauty! I think there are just some models that should _not_ be electric powered. This is one of them. The sound of a proper 4-stroke glow engine in a model like this really adds something to the whole experience. Nice "scale like" wheel landing at the end there BTW.
Thanks! Take off was my fave bit. Just enough power to get the tail wheel off the deck before gently getting the mains of the ground. Such a fun model to fly.
A distinguished talent in the world of aviation, thank you
Just a guy having fun and sharing it. Simple as that really. 😉
Looking good 👍
Nice FPV touch! I'd love to have seen that hammerhead in FPV! Lol
Thank you!
Boy I enjoyed that! I grew up in the front of a Tiger, and the cam in that beautiful model really took me back. Delightful, thank you both.
Its a graceful beautiful aircraft....congrats!!!
I'm all excited now, I've got a flight in a couple of weeks, weather permitting, in a 1941 Moth 😎 shame I haven't got a 360 camera, nice 👍
A last minute cancellation saw me flying the Moth yesterday evening, what a fantastic machine it is, so light on the controls ... and it was a yellow one ... video to follow soon 👍😁
Beautiful aircraft !
All round brilliant video 👌
Beautiful Tiger Moth. Love it in yellow and especially that 'cheeky' grin from the pilot!!! hahaha Nice flight in the breezy conditions!
That phenomenal camera work was only surpassed by your brilliant flying abilities!
That's very kind. Thanks !
Brilliant flight and landing Dom, some great shots from the plane as well. Looked like she has some scaled detail in the plane. 👍🏻
Yup. The builder had some attention to detail that's for sure. Wish I knew who it was.
Very nice indeed! Lovely model, and the cockpit video was terrific.
Glad you enjoyed it Gryf !
Awesome!!
👊
Fabulous to hear a nitro…the pilot looks to be enjoying himself even more than you Dom😉. Fantastic all round views…insane😂
You'll be hearing more Derrick. Laser 180 powered Stearman coming soon.
Hello, What is the wingspan of the aircraft? What is the weight of the model? What engine is on the plane? (I have just bought a Tiger Moth ARF 2m wingspan) Thanks you. Beautiful flight!!!
Hello, What make and Model of Transmitter do you use--Thanks, Scott F.
Radiomaster TX16S
That looks as if it would fly scale like with a 60:ish four stroke. With a 90 it's a bit overpowered and flies like the fighters the pilots in training would fly later on.
Quite a bit heavier with the onboard cam so I had to keep the speed up...plus it was quite windy. Really didn't want to stall it.
Wish people would stop calling glow engines nitro, quite silly
😂…not sure why I used that term🤷🏻…must have just moved on from another site….you are right…glow plugs rule! Davis Charlton Quickstart, OS25 etc😉
I call them 'nitro' and glow. Terminology doesn't really matter. 5% nitro in this one.
Why describe an engine by the minimal component of the fuel mix. Some glow engine are designed to operate on FAI level fuel ie, no nitro.
To say terminogy doesn't matter shows a level of laziness or ignorance of the subject.
@@petergard778 Definitely laziness but I'll try to do better I promise. 😌 Henceforth I shall only say glow.
I hate the term nitro.. Used by Americans because it sounds fast.
I also wouldn't call it old school.
Glow still very much alive in proper aero modelling.
