FEEDBACK as a Sound Design Tool for WEIRD SFX
Legend has it that if you play with this long enough, spacetime portals will appear in you room... perhaps you may even be summoning Lovecraftian creatures... a limiter won't stop them ;)
Made me think of how the track All Saints by David Bowie may have been created with more antiquated stuff.
When I hear this kind of sound, I'm almost afraid because I know well how loud feedback can become 😱
Great stuff. Sounds like machines in old sci-fi movies.
This was much cooler than I was expecting.
Dude, Bitwig is the goat for sound design for audio play, video games or videos.
How's the video support for Bitwig?
@@trsctrnone, really. But I'm talking about using it in tandem with another DAW if making videos. So, Bitwig would be where you create the sounds and use the rendered audio in your project. However, for projects that require no videos (such as audio dramas or go for animation and such) Bitwig is so much fun to use. I typically create the main components of a scene and then transfer it to Reaper (because of the subprojects feature ) but if it's about a song's length, I just do it all in Bitwig
You can sync to video with the new touchdesigner extension added in 5.1. TD is free third party software
@@DashGlitch oh cool, I have touchdesigner installed for other experiments but might have to give this combo a go at some point 🤔
Carplus strong is awesome!
Great video as always🤟🏽
Very cool way of efx with the stock delay. :)
Don't forget the mixer has full on feedback functions too
great sounds
Really cool!
I remember the Lex480L had a similar weird pitch-shifted delay algo also the Publison Infernal Machine had something like this
What about using stuff like gulfoss, soothe or smooth operator in that feedback chain? Apart from that, I can absolutely understand the fascination of turning knobs in such feedback loops. It's nice to see that this now also works completely in the box. With immensely more possibilities.
Wonderful
For anyone whose DAW doesn't have this type of delay built in, there's always ValhallaFreqEcho
Does it allow you to put any fx inside the feedback chain too?
@@CuriousPassenger No, only wet/dry, delay time, pitch shift, feedback, low cut, hi cut and some options for tempo sync and stereo/mono.
Gold!
I think you can do something similar or more complex with the new filters..especially with the Ripple filter..how about both?...with Delay and Ripple filter??!!!
This rocks. What is that midi controller?!!
DIY based on arduino
Brilliant. Looks great! Theres nothing on the market that that quite matches my stylistic preferences. @@DashGlitch
when you had that pitchshifter in feedback loop i knew it was time for pitchmap to reharmonize the sound! have you ever tried putting pitchmap directly into the feedback path though?
I didn't even try it yet tbh, just because I know it has huge latency, I think perhaps the BW spectral stuff might be better suited, but then PM after the chain. But I will try a few combos and see which make for the best techniques, thanks
@@DashGlitch the latency is surely for a feedback loop effect, but I really enjoy the sound of it. I think you'll like it too, even though it's a bit of a one trick pony
Is there a promo code for your Bitwig Master Class? I'm pretty broken.
There's a discount for Patreons (40% off), and so you can sign up for $5 grab the discount and then close the patreon account at the end of the month
@@DashGlitch Thanks Mr., too late 😅. I've already purchased it. Next time! Thanks for producing the material. I've watched some of the classes and it looks great! Can't wait to watch the rest.
Sad you gotta use Mark of the Beast to draw attention to your channel, especially the way the worlds heading. -1 sub
Lol really dude
Pahahahaha
where did he use the mark of the beast?
@@TheJustinside “666” is in the thumbnail
@@DoitYHWH Oh! that wasn't intentional i'm sure. It looks like the middle default setting of that knob.
