The police came and he tried to tell them that he was trying to check on her because he thought she was in danger but they took him away. She didn't sleep for two days straight after that and I don't blame her at all. After a couple days her brother came over and stayed up all night and just hung out in her room on his phone so she'd feel safe enough to go to sleep.

Then I suggest you purchase a firearm and spend a lot of time at the range. Get comfortable with it. If you can’t afford to go to the range often spend 15-30 min per night doing dry fire practice. There are plenty of good drills you can run that you can learn on CZcams. The warrior poet society is a great place to look, they have a pretty comprehensive video library of different drills. If you can afford it I highly recommend getting some professional training as well. One big tip I can give you in the purchasing process is to try out many different firearms. If you go to a gun shop and someone tells you that you need to by X or Y gun because it’s the best, don’t listen to them. The best gun you can buy is the one you feel most comfortable with. It doesn’t hurt to try whatever firearm they tell you about because you may like it.
