    Thanks man, that was super easy and to the point. Also the scripts list you linked are awesome! Wish I knew about that before spending 30 hours googling useless crap when I did 1st config on my box LOLZ

      You're welcome. Yes, it helps a lot with scripts when you want to save time. I've been there, done that, spending hours problem-solving and then finding a solution that could have saved time.

    Now that I have Docker installed - what's the next step? I entered the Docker interface and don't know what to do there. Do you have any additional video tutorials for further learning in different uses of Docker (I chose Ubuntu)?

    What’s the difference of docker in lxc then the unbuntu Vm route?

    • @bigbeartechworld
      @bigbeartechworld  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Docker, LXC, and Ubuntu VMs are different approaches to isolation and deployment.
      Docker/LXC: lightweight, process-level isolation, shared host OS kernel, efficient resource usage, quick startup, good portability for applications.
      Ubuntu VMs: heavier, stronger isolation with separate OS instances, higher resource overhead, longer startup, less portable for a complete OS.
      Choose based on your specific needs for isolation, resource usage, and portability.

    If only proxmox team was ok to add the lxc native OCI image support... we would have a soooo greater user experience ..

    Thanks a lot for the video. I think this is not a good idea to install docker into container. Due to misconfiguration and providing privilegies for the docker container you can get access to the docker host and due to privilegies in LXC container you can access hypervisor as the container still uses the same kernel. I prefer to isolate docker into separate VM as if you have vulnerability in the docker container only VM and other containers could be affected.

    • @bigbeartechworld
      @bigbeartechworld  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yes, I agree that running Docker in an LXC container can pose security risks. However, using virtual machines (VMs) instead introduces additional overhead and increases resource usage. Therefore, it's important to carefully consider the balance between resource utilization and security. Additionally, it's crucial to always be vigilant about the software being installed, regardless of the chosen deployment method.
