- Negril Jamaica would not be what it is today without the commitment and foresight of Mr Daniel Grizzle. He is one of the patriarchs of the development of modern day Negril. Mr Grizzle is an environmentalist, a farmer, a returning resident, a restauranteur, a hotelier, someone who has an unrelenting passion for the forward movement and success of Negril and ultimately Jamaica. Our conversation in this podcast episode is rich in value learning about Mr Grizzle’s agricultural background and how it led him to become a beachfront hotelier in addition to his fight for the Negril ecosystem. He also lends advice to those considering moving to or moving back to Jamaica. Lastly, Mr Grizzle tells the story of how he was one of the founding members of The Negril Chamber of Commerce, the main leadership body of Negril.

This gentleman is the type of people we need to LEAD and RUN Jamaica. People with VISION and LOVE for their PEOPLE and COUNTRY👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I totally agree
Amen 🙏
INDEED!
Jamaica is beautiful will always be my home but I cannot retire until they clean up the crime. The last straw was when the killed my nephew in Jan 2021 Rip Sheavon
@@marciabuchanan-blair776 Sorry for your loss. My adopted brother was killed in Jamaica as well, leaving behind 3 children without a father. My oldest brother died in 1986 here in America and I am still living in America. People are killed EVERYDAY ALL over the world. I will be going home when I retire because I won’t allow NONE Jamaicans to own EVERY inch of my country while I hide in theres.
I definitely want to see more Jamaicans owning homes and businesses in Jamaica. Our ancestors FOUGHT, BLEED and DIED for that land.
Absolutely!
It can happen only if we get rid of the government who are selling out everything there from Airport, electricity company, ports etc. Within the next two years the only thing will be there are the people’s home will be sinking from digging up the land. The government owes so much to the Chinese it’s only a matter of time before they get rid of everyone and take over.
YEEEEEEES:PLEASE LORD JESUS: RAISED UP MORE OF THESE RIGHT PEOPLE TO HELP US IN JAMAICA 🇯🇲 TO GET WHERE YOU FATHER GOD WANT 🙏 🙌 WE PLACE THE PLANS FOR OUR NATION BACK INTO YOUR POWERFUL HANDS ✋ IN JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH NAME WE PRAY 🙏 AMEN AMEN 🙏 ❤ 🙌 THANK YOU JESUS. SO LET IT BE
@@majorieokay3756 that will not happen 🙌🏿🙌🏿
@@majorieokay3756 Jamaican aboard is awakening the hide truth is coming out. Jamaican need to Unity. Jamaican comes from strong royal bloodline do the research. Jamaican will rise. TMH will guide the way there's alot of education needs to be done to get the people out of the mental state of colonization but they are getting there.✊🏾✊🏾❤❤ UBUNTU, UBUNTU my sister. ONE LOVE
If majority of the Jamaican population were like this gentleman, Jamaica would be paradise. We need a population re education on the Island from TOP to BOTTOM!
Tell me about it
Wiseman. Most encouraging.
Even if there was a million people like this man, Jamaica would not be better. The only person can stop the crime and the selling out of Jamaica is the prime minister. He can stop the crime by introduce a crime plan and stop bringing the guns into Jamaica. The people don’t bring the guns . He has been introducing covid plan for the past year .He even went house to house , but not a word about the crime. The electric company sold last year, the ports , the airports and more. This gentleman can’t stop him from selling out everything.
Even though I have grown up in Canada, my heart is in JA. I appreciate all that Canada has given me but the idea of the JA government giving foreigners so much power in our country is very disturbing to me. How could that change? Do we need to help like minded youths to rise up into positions of power and influence? Yes, I think that's part of the solution. I have a cousin, trained as a Physiotherapist in JA but is leaving for the states so she can earn decent money. She's struggling out there in this field and that's so sad. Here in Canada, we invest in paying healthcare workers what they are worth. The mindset needs to be to educate and bring in investors who don't want to own JA but contribute to its ability to thrive!

This gentleman really cares about Jamaica and Jamaicans. His vision for providing affordable homes for young people and low income families is the best thing I have heard coming out of Jamaica, and it takes someone who is not a politician to realise the vision. Excellent work Mr Daniel. Mr father's name was Daniel, and his motto was, you cant live for yourself alone. You are a Jamaicaaican hero.
Jamaican is a pathetic country
@@Onepieceistheworstfuckinganime The country is alright, it is those who are running it is the matter of concern.
So true
These are the things Jamaican should be watching and highlighting on their platforms, it will teach these young generation's values and how they can accomplish anything in life once you put your mind to it. Great content Throp.
Totally agree. Thanks for watching
He is someone that I would sit down and listen to all day.🇬🇧🇯🇲
I throughly enjoy every conversation I have with Mr Grizzle. I always learn so much
Me too 👏🏾👏🏾
This gentle man is so wise...i took a note from him and its so true...'animals are grateful while human beings are ungrateful'
I totally agree. Thank you for watching
Best.
Sir you are a true role model to all us Jamaicans 👏🏾👏🏾
Maaaan this was an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G interview. I wouldn’t think black people are making such big moves in Jamaica!!! More like this please 🙏🏽
Thank you SO much! More coming for sure!
Totally agree; truly an enlightening interview. I shall now extend my net to Negril in my property search.
Great interview throp...mr Daniel is truly the essence of being a jamaican I think he's doing a great job of promoting Negril as a great business and retire destination...it boggles my mind to hear that Negril doesn't have a high school this town/city is a major contributor to our economy and I think the same focus on developing Kingston and mantego bay should also be put on Negril if you talk to ten tourists seven out of the ten will tell you they have bin to Negril so I think the government should put an enormous focus on developing the entire infrastructure of Negril this is a no brainer...great interview throp...love it!!
The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. African proverb. Home ownership could change this.
Love the wisdom in this saying.
I pray your story will motivate Jamaicans at home and abroad to pour back into Jamaica. You and your family are a blessing to Negril - Jamaica Land We Love.
This gentleman is brilliant and he cares.
thank you so much for watching
These are real the Real Jamaicans speaking. I love you sir, hoping to support your business when I come to JA..
Wow! I remember following the fight over peat mining in Negril. I was a teenager in St Catherine, but followed this with great interest. Glad to hear from the family that helped to defeat that idea.
I hope that the politicians will support him and leave him alone with his vision. I hope that they will call off their bad men .
Great interview. His vision for our beautiful island is unbelievably. I hope we have more visionaries like him throughout the island.
I think we the viewers right here and now are visionaries than you know, come-on lets put it all in action and do something, however great or small, after watching this podcast/interview.
A man who is so passionate proactive and has a lot of visions for Jamaica ! He wear the love and the welfare of Jamaica on his sleeves! great interview Thorp 🤔
Kudos to Mr Grizzle for speaking his mind always..even when it contradicts the politics of the day.
I want to echo Mr Grizzle’s statement that despite the crime, violence and murders in Jamaica, my observation is mostly, there are reasons and these acts are not random in nature. People visiting Jamaica with good intentions will be rewarded in kind. I believe the instant karma or vibe associated with Negril, Jamaica will protect you if your intentions are pure and honourable. People who step and associate with the dark side unfortunately find very quickly bad results.
The island needs a leader like his. All the ones there who have been around forever and are only enriching themselves should be ashamed. But I guess that tree died a long time ago.
As I read the comments on this video I say to myself I'm thinking the same thing, this man is super smart. I wish I knew him. For real. What knowledge. May God bless this man.
Throp this was super valuable and I could listen to your guess speak for days,so much knowledge and his appreciation for the environment and how to grow the community sustainable
Mr Grizzle is an amazing person
The politicians and gunmen will get rid of him fast. I pray that god will guide and protect him from them.
Keep up the good work brother. My wife and will stopping by this upcoming summer. Keep the positive vibes flowing. Showing Jamaicans in this light has been a blessing.
Thanks so much! Looking forward to hopefully meeting you both
Great interview this gentleman is a motivator ,quiete inspiring he speak in simple words that anyone listenening is able to understand what he explaining especially on the topic about the environment,he is a great role model ...much respect to the elders
💯🇯🇲❤❤👍🏾
Great content. Never realized Negril didn't have a high school. What a huge difference this would make for the community.
Love that story Jamaican dream
I feel more connected, informed, and enlightened from watching this interview. Thanks to you both!!
I’m so happy to hear. Thanks for watching
Another awesome interview my brother 🇯🇲 great Jamaican 🇯🇲
@George Bromfield, Happy Holidays and thanks for always being so supportive and positive. Blessings to you, your family and friends now & always❤💛💚
Thanks so much
I love the way this man thinks, speaks and addresses matters on a whole, i could sit for hours with my note book in his company.
He is without a doubt one of the gems of Negril
I enjoyed this interview and was tuned in throughout the whole video. The question about crime was a very important one, expats or returning residents are easily identified by criminals and can become a target in the wrong area. I personally believe the current crime fighting system is in need of serious reform. However, while crime may be a concern, it's extremely important that we are not deterred and invest in Jamaica because we play a significant role in its progress.
Thanks for highlighting ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things. Keep up the good work!
The whole island of jamaica needs to alway make decisions with the environment in mind, our leaders needs to insist that the health of environment
This person gets my vote for PM
Aww Mr. Daniel! This is my secret hideaway that I go to every year for my birthday! Recently came back. Owner and staff are sweet and helpful and the food is exceptional always! New subbie here this came up on my timeline. Bless up King. 🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲
Superb interview Throp👍🏾Love the way how Mr Daniel tells his very interesting story..We need more people like him who are proud of this beautiful island 🏝 Jamaica 🇯🇲..May God continue to bless him 🙏🏾..He is very influential..Another Epic interview Throp 👍🏾👌🏾🆙️🆙️🇯🇲🇯🇲❤❤

Please interview the wife as well since she seems to be also the backbone of all the successful initiatives that Mr. Grizzle mentioned.

Dropping so many gems!! great interview and thanks for sharing sir.
Wonderful interview 👏, thank you. I could listen for hours to this gentleman talk about Negril for hours on end. He has a passion for Negril and i look forward to what he continues to do.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview 👏🏽. Mr. Grizzle is a visionary with a heart for the people. I hope he along with the chamber of commerce will be able to provide affordable housing solutions to bring in more people to help boost the economy. One of my favorite interviews Throp, keep them coming.
Great guest and conversation! I have always loved Negril. During my last trip in Nov 2021, I became really interested in investing there. I'm glad to learn about the chamber.
OMG I am a X pat living in Negril and this is on point!
Looks like an amazing place to be. Such a beautiful thing when couples work as a team and are both committed to their goals. Congrats to Mr. Grizzle and his amazing group of family and friends. Excellent video and interview Throp. Many thanks❤💛💚
Thanks so much Shelly!
@@Throp You are welcome Throp, looking forward to more amazing content from you🤗🤗 Thanks a lot👍

He really is
Mr Grizzle just sold Negril to me
Definitely will be moving there.
Awesome!
I am FULLY IN LOVE with Jamaicans & Jamaica. Sigh. xx
Charela Inn wow foundation and Negril history. Mr.Grizzle you are a boss. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do just like Throp and his family for providing employment in that area and promoting the beauty of Jamaica. Jamaica is beautiful and your contribution only help to enhance that. Thank you both.
🙏🏾 thanks so much
This gentleman is a visionary. He demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of the construct and framework needed to further develop Negril and Jamaica as a whole. The Chamber, developers, and politicians need to see this episodeThrope, for further advisement. Again excellent interview.
The man has so much to say and is so passionate. Thank you for giving him a platform
Can’t agree with you more. Thank you for watching
Just found this channel. As a Jamaican entrepreneur I am inspired.
Great response to the crime situation! Be careful of your associations, don’t be naive . We have more good people on the island than we have bad.
Indeed, there are far more extremely good and caring people living in Jamaica.
It's amazing how he was able to maintain a slight British Accent tone after 50 years..... Great video as usual *Throp* 👌
Thank you!
He speaks like my dad. Who went to England at 17 then NYC at 34
Excellent interview, many thanks for your knowledge Mr Grizzle. Winthrope you're one of the best interviewers. I always enjoy your videos.
Fantastic interview. I like Jamaican owned resorts, love the culture. Have stayed at many all inclusives on the Island and they often lack the Jamaican flair. Night after night of Michael Jackson impersonators on stage and I say, where's the reggae? You should both be guests on the "Irie Hour", a live show hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board in Canada and showcase your beautiful resorts. Visitors want culture and Jamaican hospitality.
Why is this man not the Prime Minister? His view of housing and dignity and social development is spot on.
He is pretty amazing
The best of us never seem to enter politics. The crooks and the self serving ones always seem to find a way to get in and stay forever. Then to add insult to injury they bring their families to finish us off. I am really sad to have to say this but I believe that it is true.
It’s Not Luck, It’s God’s Blessings in our lives..
Very enlightening interview. Love the history and love for preservation of the environment as well as the little lesson in being prepared when opportunity presents itself
thank you so much for watching
Mr. Wellington speaking about real old fashioned Jamaicans culture..Where Jamaicans looks out for Jamaicans interest.. This will prevent gangsterism ..Out of many one People..
Can I ask why this very intelligent, well-spoken, caring businessman isn't a member of parliament? This short interview tells me and other listeners that he cares deeply not only for his businesses but for the environment and the world he's living in. Mr. Grizzler, I had the privilege of spending time at your facility years ago, and it was amazing and well kept. Thanks your for being a voice within Jamaica. 💝
Amen so Mazing a man who cares he doesn't need to meddle in our dirty politics well spoken well care for the beautiful piece of rock we own
Keep it up brother hats off to u
Because those in politics are about power and greed...this man is about humanity. Humanity doesn't exist in politics...it should, but that's not how you get money and power.
This was really great. His wisdom and grace reminds me of my dad. Love it ❤️
Jamaica needs more people like you and your wife ❤❤ positive mindset. ❤❤ In tune with nature is fundamental. ❤❤❤❤
You have inspired me to do great things. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You remind me of Oliver Samuel ❤
Keep up the good work 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m so happy to discover this platform. Always learning from it great job 👏
👏👏👏👏👏👏Well done to you, Thorp a great interview. The gentleman was superb. You are promoting Negril, Jamaica, documenting a vision and history.
We decided to buy a vacation property in Jamaica after meeting a visitor from Canada in Jamaica who went back to buy a vacation property there. My hubby asked why are we not investing more there and we are Jamaicans. Thats how it started.
Loving this Conversation as a first timer to the channel from Miami on New Years Day 2022. This is like a drink of community Coffee, inviting and invigorating.
Hey Thop, great interview.. your guest is a man with vision. I think a lot of his passion stems from living and traveling abroad which has broadened his perspective of how developed and advanced Jamaica can be.
This is awesome and encouraging. I am so inspired. Thanks Throp for this outstanding episode.
THOROUGHLY enjoyed this interview. A true visionary with SOUND and realistic solutions to the issues in Jamaica. Would love to sit and meet with this extraordinary man! Very Empowering
Another epic interview from my favorite CZcams channel.
Such a valuable head of wisdom, harness and supplement that with some innovation and the future benefits will be enormous. We have are sitting on so much untapped value in Jamaica, I hope we don't continue to sit and contemplate while we continue to lose most of it to foreigners. Very good interview, great channel, please keep up the good work !!!
Thanks for the words of wisdom shared in this interview. To God be the glory!
Thank you for watching
...what a small world! This video popped up randomly. I visited Travellers in Oct 2013 and had the greatest time. Either you (or your brother maybe?) showed me and another young lady around town and were extremely hospitable. Although I got the worst sunburn in life, I still ate good and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Hope you all are doing well.
Amazing insight and contributions
This gentleman has contributed so much to Negril. He has so much information
Wow Throp another power house thanks for the great work you are doing in my town
Big up Daniel, we all need to keep fighting for a clean environment.

Thanks so much for watching
Respect to the elder and thank you for bringing us the content 🇯🇲
I love my home Jamaica but crime’s is the problem
Winthrope I found your interview with Daniel Grizzle so inspiring. Daniel and his wife Sylvie achieved so much and have contributed much to Jamaica and Negril. My dad was born in Kingston and I finally got to travel to Jamaica in 2019. My partner and I stayed in Montego bay. Over the years I have formed strong ties with Barbados but after seeing this video I most definitely will visit Negril and stay at the Charela Inn🙏🏾🇯🇲
I M Very Proud of this Gentleman, who has done will to build Jamaica's Name and Integrity and continues to expand on the beauty and Lustre of our country, very happy to listen to that interview and I will be visiting there one-day.
Thank you very much, and may the Lord continues to bless and keep you.
So glad I found this interview. I have always stayed at Charela when in Negril but never knew the background. My wife and I love lounging under the Palm trees while under the beach there. Usually we are on Grace Beach in Turks and Caicos for vacation because of its quiet peacefulness, but when we come home to Jamaica we come to Negril after spending time at our property not far from the Blue Lagoon in Portland. So happy to know Charela is owned by a local. I have friends who own The Polkerris bed and breafast in Montego Bay so the mrs and I are always rotating between there and Charela Inn. Great interview!!!
He’s right on the button, oh man. Motivating MOTIVATIONS. I’m rearing (beam me up Scottie), to finish my JA project and get involved with some stainable projects. 🇬🇧 born, however ❤️ absolutely for 🇯🇲.
Motivations indeed..One of the oldest there Charela Inn..Sundowner was the oldest...

What a distinguished, wonderful man. We love breakfast at Charela when in Negril, and petting that beautiful German Shepard. Thanks for another great video, Throp! (We ran into you a few years ago at Charela) Steve
It seems you have a new sound system. Sounds great. Another great vlog.
Great convo still, bravo.

I really enjoyed this video as someone who loves to visit Jamaica. I’ve had the chance to meet locals, stay in various places and have a feel for the country. It reminded me a bit of my own motherland of India in a way; fresh fruit, warm weather and the kind nature of ppl. I would love to retire in JA at some point. It makes sense to invest in real estate as the country develops further. Love your vids Throp.
Love that story.
