    Just bought mine today and I love it. Great results and more than enough power! Also picked up the string trimmer (weed wacker) and the blower. Very pleased with all and more than enough batteries and chargers now. Lawn looks great and I got to say good bye to the landscaper that tbh didn’t do a good job and kept breaking things. Good buy. Highly recommended.

    I just bought an EGO string trimmer (56V) for use at our cabin. I used it for the first time yesterday, and was thoroughly impressed. The main reason I decided to get it was I was tired of struggling to start our gas trimmers when I have limited time to take care of things on our weekend visits. It had plenty of power, and lasted as long as I'd like to be holding onto it. An added benefit is an auto-loading line system -- only tried it once, but it worked perfectly. Time will tell how reliable it is, but so far so good!

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors Před 2 lety +1

      That’s a great use case for electric. I still have all gas at the cabin but have been running 18V trimmer and blower here at home for years because the yard is small. They’ve worked but the batteries barely lasted long enough so I decided why not. I also went all electric on my tools last year and bought a bunch of Dewalt tools and have been equally happy. Mower stuff I thought would make my daughters life easier in her mowing venture this summer. We shall see.

    @Finger112 Před 8 měsíci +1

    I have been a long time Greenworks customer that has owned many of there 80 volt tools now since 2018 and for the last 2-3 years, I owned the older 21 inch lawnmower with only one battery slot. I asked customer service over email at Greenworks last month in October about replacing the rubber flap on the bottom (which this mower also has) and they couldn't directly replace that flap part, so they decided to send me through a free warrenty replacement a whole new mower (this mower actually) with a new battery at 5.0 ah power (and charger, I have way too many chargers now). This mower was quite an upgrade over my older 21 inch model, with the ability to use 2 batteries now and the long handles on it is way sturdier compared to the older mower we had (the handles here seem like they are aluminum, the older one I believe were steel handles). This also doesn't bog down as much compared to the older 21 inch mower as well as this one seems to be a more sturdier/better power handling with thicker grass. The 2 batteries makes a huge difference as I don't need to go inside to get another battery! Also the turbo button was something I did not have either on the older model, but this drained the batteries more quickly so this might be something I might avoid using a lot.
    Just back in October to prepare for the Winter Season up in Wisconsin where I live, I ordered from the Greenworks website there 2 Stage Snowblower for the first time and it was quite a circus in shipping getting it to me. Long story short, it got lost in shipping briefly but was found quickly (its a freight shipment). Got it here and was quite the challenge disassembling the packaging. This snowblower came with 2 5.0 ah batteries but the snowblower can take up to 3 batteries, so i was glad to get the lawnmower replacement last month with the new 5.0 ah battery on that one, so I have three of those now for snowblowing. But had a happy ending with getting it all together and can't wait to try it out. Also bought the single stage 22 inch snowblower as well.

    What is your opinion on the weight of the mower? With the batteries in the machine is it really that much lighter than a gas mower? I almost bought one recently but concerned one 4ah battery wouldn’t be enough. Typically how much runtime do you get with the self propelled?

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors Před rokem

      So this mower has two batteries. The one I got has two 4ah batteries and runtime is 90 minutes. I cut two suburban lawns with deep grass, running the turbo, and ran self propel about 50-60% of the time. I noticed for some reason the new Costco version has a 4 and a 2ah battery. No idea why they did that. Frankly I think Greenworks is a mess when it comes to the versioning and packaging of their products. Nothing seems to make sense why they do stuff. That said I’m happy with the mower, the weight is lighter than my Toro personal pace that I replaced but not so light that it negatively impacts cut quality. Being that it’s self propelled the weight is somewhat irrelevant to me. Hope that helps. If you have more questions fire away and I’ll do my best to answer.

    Hey, Josh, thanks for a great video. Mine arrived today and I already set it up and batteries are charged. My lawn kid will come tomorrow for the last time, except when I'm out of town. I do have a question about the batteries. I bought mine at Costco and the online info on Costco's site does say it comes with two batteries, but it does not say only one of the batteries is lithium. Are both your batteries lithium? If not, how well does the non-lithium battery perform? I ask in case I want to purchase another lithium battery.
    As a side note, at about 5;25 into your video when you kick it into turbo mode I see it also speeds you up pretty fast. I've never before seen anyone mow so quickly!
    🤣

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors Před rokem

      Hello and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! It is likely that both batteries are lithium, possibly just different print on the battery case. I've not seen any non-lithium batteries with any of the 7 Greenworks tools that I have. Now the big switch that Costco did this year was instead of two 4ah batteries its one 2ah and one 4ah... no clue why they did that. That drops the runtime from ~90 minutes to ~60 minutes. My advice would be that if you like the way the mower performs and are "bought into" electric is to pick up another tool or two with a battery. I have about 6 batteries and I can easily swap between and always have one charging. Here is another review, from my reviews channel, that I did after a few months on what I like and don't like... I will be doing another soon based on a years worth of use - czcams.com/video/nCJWSealZ1s/video.html - Yes, turbo surely speeds things up... lol I planted some trees the other day in turbo and only wished I could move that fast all the time... :-) See CZcams Short here:

The higher the decibel level, the shorter the time it takes for hearing loss to occur. It is recommended that for those sounds above 85 decibels, ear plugs should be worn.

I did have one issue where my first one was shutting off periodically and I called Greenworks. They sent me a 2nd one which is the Costco version (Last years model with the dual 4AH batteries and lift blade) so now we have 2 mowers and 4 batteries... I have added the blower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, edger, chainsaw, and snowblower... Just used the chainsaw yesterday... Great grab and go saw for our country weekend property

    The day will come when gas is too expensive or unavailable so better switch quick.

      It very may... not sure I'd say the switch is a savings at this time but I do really like the mower and am finding myself annoyed with the neighbors noisy gas powered equipment... hahaha... I've become "that guy" :-)

      @@HardyBrothersOutdoors I'm thinking it will be a government forced necessity in the next 10 years or less. Gas will be for commercial accounts or legit lawn care companies with commercial accounts only.

      @@airinbone That will be a major shift if it happens. I'm thinking there is going to need to be some sort of standardization on the Lithium batteries... I'm noticing that I have them everywhere now and they are only for the particular tool purchased. Good that Greenworks and many other brands have platforms that support numerous tools on a single battery design but I'm getting all sorts of sample products from the Chinese and each and every one has a different battery... will certainly be interesting. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@airinbone looked at these all weekend and I like this one.... but for anyone concerned about gas and the environment can you just imagine all those batteries piling up in our city dumps and acid going into our water supply.

    Don’t buy it, I bought one and full charge kept dying after 17 mins then of course it wouldn’t let me charge the battery for over a hour because the battery was to hot so it took 3 days to cut just my back yard which isn’t even that big

      lol sorry to hear that. I hope you took it back. I’ve not had any issues after 2 years.
