    I'm glad you finally get to try these baby out! Your artworks are amazing as always. Thank you for the shout out too ☺️. After awhile using these, i think they are not too bad but i had a little hard time using them. I think arteza gouache is much better. But compare to otger cheaper brands, these are ok to use 👌

      Thank you Olivier for sending me this paint to try out! 🧡 and I totally agree with you, I also find Arteza gouache much better in quality but Marie’s gouache isn’t too bad to use!
      I find them quite similar as revees gouache, so not the best but not the worst but you can definitely use them, because I’ve tried a worse quality gouache before so Marie’s are okay!😊

    Hi, great informative video. Thank you. It is very useful to see product in action before buying.
    If you want to do more reviews of gouache brands I highly recommend Shinhan Pass. They are watercolour/gouache hybrid, can be used as both depending on amount of water added. I have seen it in real life, and it has a nice smooth look when used opaquely, but some of the colours are not very opaque. Over all, it had a good impression on me.

      Hello! thank you so much for your comment and your recommendation! :)
      Few months ago I think I saw on Jackson art supplies Shinhan Pass gouache and I was very intrigued by them, I haven't bought them yet but I will definitely review them at some point!! :)

    Wow, you are truly an amazing artist! Thank you so much for taking the time to create reviews like these! I wish I had seen this before I bought this set. After using it, I had decided that gouache just wasn’t for me. Especially after trying the Reeves brand second. It was even worse. After watching your video, I want to give gouache another try. My favorite medium is watercolor, and I prefer to use handmade watercolors by several different makers. Have you ever tried the handmade watercolor? I highly recommend them, but I have to warn you... once you paint with them, it’s hard to go back to the store bought kind! Hope you have a beautiful week!

      Thank you so much for your kind words! 💕 oh no I’m so sorry and sad to hear you didn’t have a good experience with Marie’s gouache! I also tried Reeves gouache and I find them both equal in terms of quality (so not really the best but not the worse).
      My very first set of gouache was Royal talens extra fine quality gouache and although at the beginning I had struggles using this paint (which it’s normal when you use a new medium for the first time) RT is a good quality paint so at the end I was able to have a good experience using them! And I still love using them!
      To start of and if you’re on a budget Marie’s and reeves are okay but have limitations. If you’re looking for another brand to give gouache another try I would recommend you to try Arteza gouache! They’re affordable and good quality and I enjoy using them a lot! :)
      I’ve never tried handmade watercolors, but I would love to one day! :D

      Sandra Ruberto Hi, and thank you for the response. I had been thinking about giving Arteza a try. If you say they are good then I will definitely try them. Thanks so much for the advice. I look forward to seeing what you do next. Much Love and Respect from North Carolina, Stacy

    I am here to check out the gouache.. i really want to try gouache but i am on a budget. I am actually living in Australia so its something I can get hold of but it sounds like I am better off to get some better quality.
    thank you so much for your information, I am a new subscriber, and I am glad I found your channel

      Thank you so much for subscribing! 💕 I think that you can buy Marie’s gouache for practice paintings especially if you’re on a budget and if you still don’t know if gouache might be the right medium for you! you will still able to make something good with them :)
      but if you already know you’d like to work with a better quality gouache then I would recommend to save up money for it :)
      Hope this helps!

      pabloplato i live in the philippines.the 12 set is available in my local art store,but they only have the 12 set not the 18 one.when these are shelved for too long the binder sometimes seeps out from the metal tube.i guess that’s why they don’t stock these often...

    should i get this or reeves?

    • @sandraruberto8806
      @sandraruberto8806  Před 4 lety +1

      Among these two, reeves was a bit better but keep in mind that both aren't the best quality paint you can find, an alternative affordable option I would recommend you is Arteza which has much better quality!

    How do you keep your paper flat? Mines always crinkle up.😫

    • @lindseyB_33
      @lindseyB_33 Před 4 lety +4

      Charley Winston I tape it down or wet both sides of the paper, especially if im using more water. Also if you use heavyweight paper it’ll buckle less as well if you don’t want to tape or wet the paper :)

    • @pabloplato
      @pabloplato Před 4 lety

      use paper designed for a wet medium like watercolour, and taping it down (a border of tape around all edges keeping it down onto a board) helps.

    This gouches are not good, they dry fast in a pallet, they're translucent, I bought this gouches for practicing...but I don't understand them at all.
