Great video! Reminds me of my early years hunting when we would hunt canal banks. The difference a dog makes is amazing!

Thanks! Ya I wouldn’t even bother hunting cattails without one! They were thick!

Hold the Michaelson name high! 76 years young, hunting over 60 years. Roots out of S. Dak. living in Oklahoma now. Michaelson a good Norwegian name. 😊

Haha will do! You don’t see many people spell it the same way we do!

Congrats, always puts a little jump in your step when you have birds in the bag. I like a little snow, just not knee deep when I'm trying to walk. Exhausting enough fighting thick cattails!!😁

Thanks! We have the perfect amount of snow right now. Just wish we didn’t have the ice before it!

This time of year, that’s all I hunt! Tough walking, but they generally hold tighter!

Late season birds here where I live flush wild. Even in that type of frozen grass. The dogs can still corner some of these smart birds. Luckily, I have quail to chase too. That helps out in January

Ya usually this time of year they are wild. I went to spots where I know they haven’t been hunted all year. That’s why I’m assuming these held so tight.

Hey Zach, Nice shooting. I gained some good tips from you. Can I ask what brand/ model gun you are using ? Looks like an older Remington 1100, 11-87. … Thx & Happy New Year!

Happy new year to you also! It’s actually an old stoeger 2000. I like to use it for late season roosters!

Do you generally pick up your spent shells?

Waterfowl yes and when I’m using my over under while pheasant hunting. When I’m shooting a semi, I could spend all day looking for them in the cattails ha
