  • Bat for Lashes talks to us about her upcoming sixth studio album The Dream of Delphi, ahead of her appearance at Meltdown festival.
The singer explains how managing her own embodiment was central to her creativity as developed the album and accompanying show around the birth of her daughter in lockdown. The Dream of Delphi is about the the conception, birth and early stages of life of her daughter, and the feelings and energies of being a mother.
Music from the album will feature in Bat for Lashes appearance at the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown festival, and the artist also explains what being invited to be part of Christine and the Queens’ Meltdown festival means to her.
“I’m glad that I still find facets of this prism of who I am to create work from. There’s always a new refraction, there’s always something fresh to see as a human being if you keep growing and trying to push yourself”.
