These are most noticeable in the original trilogy's 1997 special edition cinematic re-release, the 1993 definitive collection on Laserdisc, the 2004 original trilogy DVD release, and the 2011 Blu-ray release of the 6 movie saga.

That musical number in Return of the Jedi.
Why.
Just why...
That's the worst change IMO, Lapti Nek fits the mood of Jabba's Palace much better, whereas "Jedi Rocks" just seems like it's trying too hard to be 'current', when all it does is make a mockery of the whole scene! The music doesn't fit the mood of the sleazy gangsters den setting, the singing is just embarrassing, especially the made up language which just ends up sounding like baby talk, and it doesn't flow as effortlessly in and out of the scene like Lapti Nek does! What was George Lucas thinking?!
+Paul Staker I thought you meant the ending. That was such a beatiful song - Victory Celebration by John Williams. :-) The Jedi Rocks song is horrible.
Patrik Šlégr Yeah the ending is nice.
I thought you meant the ending too lol. That Jedi Rocks song really is terrible.
+Paul Staker Because George is a grandfather who likes his grandchildren's cartoons i bet .
I disagree, the added 3D band song is by FAR the worst addition. I literally skip it every time and am embarrassed of it when showing star wars films to people who haven't seen it.
Well, the original version was not much better. We still have the original version on VHS somewhere and even in that one I always skip the song.
But they somehow managed to make it even worse.
I loved the original song. It was upbeat and quirky, and fit the scene perfectly.
I often disagree with 'watchmojo' - like the choice to hire their voice over girl. She sounds like she should be doing Entertainment Tonight voice overs. Like seriously, if u dont know what that is, search for it and you'll be like, "damn, did she used to work there?"
Why not show them the original versions then?
unfortunately in these modern times, the original versions aren't the ones on Amazon Video or On Demand or DVD. so it's not always that easy to get to watch them unless you go for some low quality illicit Internet stuff.
Fett flirting with the dancers is a good scene.
Ragnar's Finest I agree, but the song Jedi Rocks makes me want to gouge my eyes out
I love that scene! It adds to Boba's character. So many think Boba is so cooling having almost no lines, and I don't have a problem with a more silent character, but in the movies Boba (Though quite the badass) is barely a character and has little personality.

He was the only one who shot
He shot before Greedo got a chance to, so hence, he shot first
Mrbrico99 _ z
Exactly. Anyways, it's kind of preposterous to think Greedo would miss a shot from only 3 feet away.
Greedo is a bounty hunter u wouldn't exactly expect him to miss a target 3 feet away from him
Mrbrico99 _ greedo never even fucking fired
Why is showing the full Wampa a dishonorable mention I thought it was kinda cool
Think of it like the film 'Jaws', the beginning is scary because of the unknown danger that keeps getting closer and closer, that's what the wampa was. While the wampa does look cool, a lot of people feel that the tense atmosphere was toned down since the audience can see what the danger is.
David Borengasser thanks
They thought adding color to whitewashed shots was a bad thing, their judgment is obviously impaired.
yeah. showing the full wampa was pretty cool.
agree they should have added the final song and cgi ending to the list. the ending before was much better.

In Boba's defense, I would probably also flirt with the dancers.
5:24 WTF isn't that the exact same scream as Palpatine when he gets thrown into the abyss by Vader in episode 6?
GZA I was literally thinking the same thing
To answer your question: Yes.
Apparently Luke screams like an 80 year old who's got diarrhoea. Good thing Leia picked Han and never had to hear Luke cum.

@Anakin Skywalker Disney: Furthermore, I have the sequel trilogy's main protagonist be a woman. I am altering the saga. Pray I don't alter it any further.
@Anakin Skywalker I know. But what people don't like about the sequels is that they made Rey a Mary Sue.
Let’s just be glad they didn’t replace Jabba with cgi in episode V and VI
Jabba wasn't in Episode V.
John Jamele He's in a new hope though
But in RotJ it looks like a puppet.
Jedi Knight
The puppet looks a lot better than the CGI Jabba.
Johnster the CGI one is so cringy looking it's hard to look.
That "Noooo"was so awful. The silent contemplation of Vader before he saves Luke is so epic.
Patrick I’ve never seen that before and man that is just out of this world bad! It just ruins the moment that scene didn’t need dialogue even though Vader has a mask you can still see an expression almost to tell you what he’s thinking
I agree that was wack. The Nooo in episode 3 though I thought was fine. Not sure why Mojo was shitting on it tbh
Fred Lewis I think the exact opposite
REvenge of the Sith one was bad
The one in Return of the Jedi was great
@@tinokatz4778 I was about to make that comment myself....yes I agree the added no in ROTJ was necessary but I got irritated at the dumb bitch narrator taking a shot at the no in ROTS. Can someone get the memo to this idiot that the majority of fans rank ROTS very highly among the 9 star wars movies and the majority of fans like the prequels. I hardly ever hear people bitching about Episode 3
I think the first "no" was fine, but the "NOOOOOO", was completely unnecessary
That awkward moment when you realize that Boba Fett, the so-called infamous ruthless bounty hunter who is loved and adored by so many fans is never shown to actually kill someone in the movies.
I just want the originals but with better visuals (no extra cgi, just better contrast etc)

Ok folks, here's the story behind Darth Vader's big "NOOO" in Return of the Jedi.
Phone rings.
James Earl Jones: Hello?
George Lucas: Hey James, I was wondering if you could provide some additional voice work for the blu ray release of Return of the Jedi.
James Earl Jones: No.
George Lucas: Oh thanks. That's all I really needed anyway.
James Earl Jones: NOOOOOO!
George hangs up.
So, does this mean James Earl Jones actually talks like Darth Vader all the time?
almost
Rob Hughes I would.

The dishonorable mentions were honestly harmless or even justified...
I agree. The hiding behind the rock makes sense. You want to hide from the sand people instead of being easily exposed.
As for the wampa, well, I think the audience needs to know what was Luke dealing with. It showed barely any details in the original.
@@AbeVsTheWorld And why does the audience NEED to see the wampa? It dilutes the tension and fear of the unknown and makes the whole scene less claustrophobic since rather then being restricted to luke's pov, you suddenly get to see the wampa casually eating "oh its ok, luke's still got time to get free". Not to mention it increases the fear factor when you finally do glimpse the wampa.
It transforms the dynamic of the scene totally, and all that for very little gain.
It’s because as much hate as they get, there aren’t actually that many bad changes to the saga
@@aarong6416 I think the main problem is that there is no alternative, that there is still no blu-ray re-release of the originals, so getting the unedited versions legally is really difficult.
The rock thing absolutely deserves hate, the chancing perspective screws up the issue of how R2 could get out of that situation.
I'm genuinely indifferent on the issue of the added Wampa scene, but that may be because I saw the version without the extra shot of it first.

tbh i liked the Temuera Morrison voice change but that's because i grew up with the prequels and love Jango. The voice change was acknowledging the prequels for me and think the old timers didn't like that fact.
@@crazycrazykhajiit8167 yeah that would be awesome
yeah he is quagmire of star wars
@@805Franco Plus, Temuera's voice is so much more scruffy and fitting for a Mando bounty hunter. Also, about OP's comment, a bounty hunter makes money for a reason right, women are often that reason for wealth. So yeah, good point. Reminds me of that conversation in Game of Thrones where Bronn talks about the Unsullied and mercenary work.
Jedi Rocks is my least favourite scene in any film ever
I loved that they added Hayden Christensen's Anakin in ROTJ, it made it a lot more emotional for me.
Duh
Me too
it sucked because it basically implied that anakin never redeemed himself at the end of ROTJ
Well, it would make more sense for Anakin to have been as old as he was in his final moments ( which was also when he was last a Jedi ) like Obi-Wan and Yoda. I consider the special edition change to be pretty unnecessary.
No. It's the worst. Hayden does not deserve to stand where Sebastian Shaw once did. It doesn't make any sense in the story.
No....jedi rocks is the worse change. The wampa added in empire is good
DevilPoroNnj
DIShonorable mentions
Charlie Plush Productions but the Wampa is in the dishonorable mentions.
Brendan Geier
I was pointing out the fact that the Wampa was in Dishonorable Mentions
God!
Charlie Plush Productions we both know that! We’re saying the Wampa was good!
DevilPoroNnj I agree
I mean it sucks for the actor who played and voiced Bobba Fett but that change at least makes a lot of sense
+Jeffrey Hopson I agree and accents are rarely genetic and changed via culture and people you grow with, Boba lost his father when he was young and brought up all over the galaxy
+Daniel Roberts I wasn't trying to say it was good. But they went with the idea that all the clones sounding like that so it makes sense Bobba would. But the comment above brings up a valid point that accents tend to be brought on by where you stay. The same country can have multiple accents so they could have very well left his voice alone.
Looks like SOMEONE doesn't understand what "canon" means. I hate the prequels, but they're canon. That isn't a matter of opinion, it is a fact whether you like it or not. You don't get to decide what's canon. If that's how it works I could choose to believe that Lord of the Rings is canon in the Star Wars universe, or that Empire Strikes Back never happened. Also Jabba is Luke's father and Chewbacca is Han Solo's twin brother.
+Liam Fosdike yeah the prequel movies weren't too good but the universe they created with games like rogue squadron the battlefront series kotr and tv shows like clone wars and the clone wars (why'd they have to make it confusing) makes them great additions to Star Wars
Doryu RPG Exactly, though disney thinks no one want to be reminded of them so they try to avoid the Clone Wars era entirely. Hence why their is no clone wars era in the new star wars Battlefront.
Adding christensen makes sense though. He looked like that when he (anakin) died
I agree
Anakin was revived in episode 6, when he turns on the Emperor when he's killing Luke. So it should have been Shaw.
AphidLuL Yeah but Anakin died a Sith Apprentice who had murdered hundreds of Jedi including younglings. He didn’t redeem himself until he died as Vader which is why Sebastian Shaw should still be there
Yeah but if Anakin was played by Hayden Christensen which was the younger version of the character as a force ghost wouldn't it make sense that Obi-Wan would be Ewan McGregor since the age they both were during the prequel trilogy.
@Gabriel Blume then that's Geogre Lucas' fault. Anakin appears at the end of 6, when he takes his mask off
Darth Vader: No...
Me: that wasn’t that ba...
Darth Vader: NOOOOOO!!!

The first "No" sounds determined, like he made a choice and was going to stick to it. The second one made him sound emotionally unstable.

@@stoneydixon4249 Which he really was.
@@stoneydixon4249 he was emotionally unstable... That's a big part of anakins character...
Ill be honest i never noticed it
The whole point of Han shooting Greedo in "the original way" was to make it obvious that this wasn't an ethical person and he might not even be trustworthy. It's like Geroge Lucas has some kind of script amnesia and can't remember what the purpose of the scene was. Because right at the start, you had ZERO idea whether or not Han Solo was good, bad or indifferent.
Not to mention it's not as though Greedo hadn't made his intention perfectly clear. Greedo had a gun pointed at him and Han didn't want to give him a chance to fire first. Han wasn't being murderous, he was being pragmatic.
also it doesn't make sense for Greedo to shoot at all, since he wanted to collect the bounty on Han, and Bounties for people are usually bigger if the subject is alive.
Greedo missing and hitting the wall from two feet away is also insulting and ridiculous
Clark Kent lel that was because he didin't use the scope😂
Fuck greedo, Han shot first
The only worst changes was JEDI ROCKS song in Return of the Jedi. Jabba's party was fine at 1980s but they change it into a CRAZY SONG
Vader's "NOOO!" before he turned on Palpatine to save Luke was even worse. It was so much better having Vader silent, you could just feel the conflict he had of having to choose between his master or son in the few crucial seconds he had to decide.
I liked Jedi Rocks, and the CGI is objectively better than puppets
0IIIIII no, that’s fine if you like Jedi rocks more but the puppets just look better at least in my opinion. They’re actually real objects and won’t look dated in 10 years like how phantom menace does
Tandem puppets are not better than CGI. You are blind lol
@@0IIIIII practical effects age in a god way. You can tell theyre puppets but it looks classic and you can tell theyre great for their time. Cgi looks she'd as fuck within a few years and instantly looks shit
2019: Greedo: "Maclunkey"
Dave Kitsune Sebulba said the same thing to Ani in Episode I.
"Art is never finished, only abandoned." - Leonardo da Vinci
George Lucas never learned this.
He did. Thankfully, time and technology allowed him to go back finish the art.
Han flat our murders Greedo because he is a hardened smuggler and not to be messed with. Having Greedo shoot at all totally diminishes Han's character. He's not a nice guy.
Though, J.J. Abrams and obviously George Lucas disagree (see: Star Wars 4 (ending), 6 and 7... 5th is flawless ; ) )
Harrison Ford wanted Han to die a heroic death at the end of ROTJ, in order to redeem himself and also bring emotional weight. Lucas wouldn't have it. Obviously he had something else in mind, like letting tiny teddy bears take out a division of Stormtroopers.
Pretty sure the only reason Harrison Ford agreed to do EpVII was because he was promised the death he wanted for Han.
Agreed. Also, this would mean he only survived because he got lucky and Greedo missed, not because Han was in control the whole time.
VB3 Han Solo is whoever George Lucas says he is.
ILOVEYOUSHIMA
Not anymore he’s not. Lucas no longer holds any power of Han, or anything else in Star Wars. He can never fuck it up again.
Han shot first. Always.
supreme84x Agree. I always saw Episode IV as the redemption of Han Solo. Before Han and Chewie met Luke and Leia, they were CRIMINALS who only cared about money. Shooting Greedo first showed that criminal mentality. After meeting Luke and Leia, Han became attached to them and began to care about them. He changed for the better.
supreme84x Technically he was the only one who fired his blaster.
No, Han shot. Greedo died.
Yep, nobody shot second.
No. Greedo shot first.

The entire Return of the Jedi singing scene ruins the beginning
+Nate Emond Its a minor thing. Minor things don't ruin beginnings or the movie itself in general
A 5 minute sequence is not minor.
I agree. Edited or not, the singing sequence SUCKS.
+Nate Emond It's the only change that I fast-forward through every time, It's just painful to sit through. At least the other crappy changes are mostly over in a second or two.
Lucas Stecz Yes it is. A five minute sequence cannot possibly ruin the beginning or the film in general for the same reason it's impossible for a trailer to spoil the entire film it's advertising. It's just 5 minutes out of the rest of the 2 hours.
Lucas should release a DVD/Blueray edition of the original films without alterations. I bet they would sell like hotcakes.

THey resealed the original versions on DVD i think in 04 or 08 or something. The release was so limited that if you want to buy them, they are crazy expensive on Amazon.
My thoughts on the whole Han shot first controversy, he did shoot first! And on the subject of being ethical, Greedo was going to try to kill him either way that part was clear Han was just smarter and quicker and he didn’t hesitate and that sums up the character well
2019: Disney + adds Greedo says something close to "malarky" before shooting.
TheHavokWarrior he says “It will be the end of you” in an unknown alien language
TheHavokWarrior it’s “MacKlunky”
It’s also what Sebulba says to young Anakin in Ep.1, in the Market scene with Jar Jar.
TheHavokWarrior Actually, that wasn’t Disney's fault. It was the last change Lucas made before selling Lucasfilms to them. All Disney did was release something that was collecting dust for 7 years.

Haha, so adding the Wampa creature in makes BOTH the best and the worst changes videos. Nice!
Did WatchMojo do a best changes list? The only one I'm familiar with was WhatCulture's. And they put the Wampa on that one.
I agree, though. I never had a problem with the Wampa's appearance in the Special Edition onwards. It was a decent costume, and it's not like it was dodgy CGI or anything.
WatchMojo does that all the time. They can't make up their minds.
I remember they did a list of true loves in comics and included Jean Grey and cyclops.
Then the same narrator did a list of love triangles and creatures cyclops and jean grey twice in that list
Watchmojo doesn’t actually make these lists. People post there ideas for top 10 lists, people are allowed to add any content they choose a submission that meets the criteria, and they make the list based on that.
They don’t actually come up with 5 lists every single day that they research and ranked by themselves.
I remember when my parents bought me the DVD set of Episodes 4-6 they were both really confused when Sy Snootles started singing Jedi Rocks. Both of them were going back and forth saying "Do you remember this?" "This wasn't here before"

What?!?! Luke's "added scream" in Empire Strikes Back is, no joke, THE EMPEROR'S original scream as he was falling down the shaft of the Death Star at the end of Return of the Jedi! AAAAAARGH! D:
Did GL think nobody would notice?
That explains why when I heard it all I could think was that sounds 100% like Palpatine. Like zero attempt to make it not sound like him. That was just a lazy addition for no reason.
And the scream you hear from one of Jabas henchmen when falling into the pit, is the same exact scream you hear in almost every movie ever made before a man dies.
There’s a few changes I liked, the new explosion of the Death Star, the wampa scene, return of the Jedi ending, and maybe the new backgrounds in cloud city? Anyway, I wish there was a way to pick and choose. I’d rather choose the originals at this point though.
What who tf dosen't like when Vader scream's no in ROTS? I love it, Since it's still Anakin who is screaming no after losing his only reason for turning to the dark side.

This list lost all credibility when Jedi Rocks wasn’t #1.
No, it lost all credibility when the Hayden Christensen ghost replacement wasn't #1. It doesn't even make any sense. Vader is an old man. They didn't replace Obi Wan with a younger version.
Personally for me #1 was the gungan screaming, and number 2 was the cringey CGI Jedi Rocks. The Greedo shooting first didn’t bother me a bunch it was certainly unnecessary though

You are totally right. I didn't mind half of these edits but when I saw that scene, I facepalmed. It just took all of the emotion out of that scene. In the originals my first time watching episode 6, my mouth hit the floor when Vader turned on the emperor (I was 4) I didn't see it coming. But In just that one "noo" you take all surprise and emotion out of that awesome scene. Most of the edits I'm fine with, but this is just terrible.
That change make me want to cry because you're right it sucks the emotion out of that scene, we don't need to hear or see what Vader is thinking because as the audience we already know what he is thinking as the Emporer is about to kill his son. The addition of "nooo" just ruins that whole scene, i mean why change it? Whats the point? It makes me angry.

I actually don't mind Hayden as Anakin... That is, whenever he just shuts up, stares menacingly, fights, or jokes with Kenobi. I mostly liked the episode III version of him, more specifically, when he becomes darth vader (not the scene where he gets the suit, but the scene where he gets his sith name). His evil stare and determined look is just so darth vader like. I can really imagine the same spirit and emotion behind the black suited version of him, and it actually fits how he acts in the suit.
But I think Hayden really sucked at the "emotional talks" with Padme and all that shit.
to be fair, I don't think any actor in the world could make these lines sound believeable or un-cringy.
Dracu 98 hmm true.
Sami Suhonen he was awful. The only scene I ever give him credit for is the one where he finds his mom. He's so perfect right there. Anger overrides everything, we see Vader, than he's just an angsty teen again. That's the only scene I'll give him credit for. I hated him. And yes most blame the script, but let's face it some actors could talk about sand and we'd be all into it.
Heather Taylor
Anakin was kind of supposed to be "an angsty teen".
The failure of the scenes where he had to do emotional talk were 3/5 his fault, and 2/5 the cheesy lines.
I dunno. I thing those stupid lines were bad on purpose.
As a rare breed of Star Wars fan that loves the prequels more than the originals, I actually don’t mind the Boba Fett voice replacer, but even I don’t know how to feel about the vader changes, especially to the force ghost.

The thing that annoys me the most about Greedo shooting first/simultaneously is he's sat just across the table. Your partially sighted great grandmother wouldn't miss at that range, so there's no way a veteran bounty hunter like Greedo would fail to hit the target
+Yavvay If I remember correctly, the reason for the scene change was to soften the movie a bit and "make it clear to children that Han had no choice but to shoot " as HelloGreedo and someone on stackexchange stated.
Which makes the change even more pointless because, although children are impressionable, they aren't stupid. Children for the most part aren't going to start shooting people for no reason if they saw the unedited scene, even the youngest of kids that know what a gun is probably know shooting people for no reason is a really bad idea.
Its like that one Christian paranoia film where two guys talk about how evil and satanic certain toys are, saying at one point that when kids play with them, the kids actually think they are the guy that the toy is supposed to look like, like its some kind of voodoo doll. Of course, kids don't actually think that, they're just using their imaginations.
In a similar vein, did Lucas or someone else really think that kids who saw Han Solo shoot Greedo are gonna want to start shooting people and want to get into smuggling? No, no they aren't. Hence why this scene is pointless, because the audience the change caters to wouldn't give a crap either way and aren't as stupid as executives like to think they are.
/rant
+Michael Russell I guess Greedo must have some stormtrooper blood in him!
Greedo was drunk
+Michael Russell Greedo wasn't a veteran anything, that's the thing. He was seriously just a wannabe. He shows his inexperience by allowing Han to get his hand under the table. In 1977, it would have been instantly obvious to most watching the film; westerns were a large part of Americana in that era and the Mos Eisley Cantina scene parallels the classic frontier saloon scene: the overconfident or inexperienced thug allows his opponent to get his hand under the poker table, whereupon there's a hole in the table and the thug.
Maybe he was trained by the Imperial Stormtroopers 😂

In other words, the sarlaac now looks like the Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors
Anakin SkyWalker You nailed it! I agree, the Sarlacc was better without the beak and tentacles!
Yeah looks like a piece of shit
True! Lol
I think adding Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi was a good change
I don't really find it to make sense in the continuity of the movies. He looked like Hayden Christensen when he first became Darth Vader. He looked like Sebastian Shaw during his last moments as Anakin Skywalker after he was redeemed and renounced darkness. Anakin should have been as old as he was in his final moments like Obi-Wan and Yoda.
@@geekyradical4985 just because he redeemed himself didn't mean he was now free of all guilt. I think it makes sense to have him appear as HC because it's representing himself before corruption
@@DougWIngate But according to Attack of the Clones, Anakin was a cold-blooded killer even before he became Darth Vader. Anakin always had darkness in him, but he looked like Sebastian Shaw when he was least consumed by darkness and least corrupt, after he returned to the Light Side of the Force.
If only this video were released five years later, 'Maclunkey' should have been on top of this list.
Wait Vader saying NOOOO in revenge of the Sith is something people don't like?
Christopher Huffman they just don't like it because it's in the prequels
Christopher Huffman no matter what it is, if it's in the prequels it's bad. It can be a bit ridiculous
The problem is, nobody does that. I would prefer, "oh jesus fucking christ, seriously? Did I do that? Fuuuuuuck dude, come oooooooon!"
Reckk is exactly right. I love the no.
They do because reasons. Yet everyone I know that had no Star Wars baggage had 0 problems with it. When I pointed it out they asked what OP asked.
With Vader's "No" while the Emperor is shocking Luke, they shoulda just kept it at the FIRST "No" that he said, the low one.... that would've just sounded way better than the yelling one afterwards....
Anyone else like Hayden's addition? Wampa was pretty good too imho.
I liked Hayden better as well
Well, it would make more sense for Anakin to have been as old as he was in his final moments ( which was also when he was last a Jedi ) like Obi-Wan and Yoda. I consider the special edition change to be pretty unnecessary.
@@geekyradical4985 it makes less sense considering that was his appearance after all the evil acts he committed, not before.
@@willycheez7218 Well, he looked like Hayden Christensen when he committed plenty of evil acts also. George Lucas made it so Anakin was a cold-blooded killer even before he turned to the Dark Side. He had darkness as well as light in him, but he looked like Sebastian Shaw at the end when he was least consumed by darkness.
@@geekyradical4985 Sebastian Shaw looks like a proud father looking down on his son, Hayden looks like he's getting ready to murder everyone. I'm not entirely sure How Luke is supposed to recognize Anakin like that either.
Adding Hayden as the force ghost was good because I wasnt even sure who it was meant to be when it was Shaw.

mstrofthunvrse Well, my opinion reigns supreme in my comment thread. XD
The nooooo at the end of revenge of the sith was a great meme
Losing the "Bring my shuttle" in ESB was a travesty.
I never minded the redone Mos Eisley scene since Dash Rendar's Outrider could be seen flying in the background.
really? He's canon?
Adding Hayden Christensen was not one of the worst, but actually the best thing about the Special Edition. Since I was born in 1998, I saw the prequel trilogy first, and after Revenge of The Sith, I was missing Anakin so much! Luckily, I have never came across the original edition, I watched only the special edition New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. And then, in the final movie, I was awestruck when I saw Anakin again as a ghost, for me, it was the perfect happy ending to the saga!
George Lucas knew that kids at my age are gonna grow up watching Hayden Christensen as Anakin, so it was a very wise decision from him to replace Anakin's ghost with him!
1) Hayden was shit
2) Obi Wans ghost was Alec Guinness. Yoda's ghost was an old Yoda. So it makes sense to have the ghost of Anakin as a younger version. right? RIGHT?
Anakin was the chosen one, so he deserves to be young forever because what he did.
FitnessFan That probably doesn't even make much sense to you.
Connor Webb I'm just guessing, but look. He was the chosen one, he brought peace to the galaxy, while going through a sh*tload of suffering. In my opinion, he deserves to be young forever!
And regarding that Hayden Christensen played Anakin in Episode 2 & 3, including him makes much more sense. But I would have loved to see Ewan McGregor and the Yoda appearing as he did in the prequels as well.
Changes I fine with:
-Boba Fett voice. It fits him and the rest of the Star Wars universe.
-Jabba added. I like the idea that this scene happened without us knowing. I would prefer it to stay out the movie, but I fine with. I just like the idea that this scene happened. That rodian could be some other bounty hunter. I know some rodian bounty hunters look like Greedo but are not Greedo. Adding Boba Fett was kick ass and bad ass.
-Hayden Christensen. I get what Lucas was going with. I fine either way with or without the changes. And I like the new victory scenes added.
I don't know why but the jabba thing always pissed me off but not as much as those damn animals that keep blocking the view
well if it "fits in" they why don't all stormtroopers also have boba fett voices
because they aren't clones. the majority of clones were killed and 90% of the stormtroopers are regular people forced to join the empire
but that wasn't mentioned when this edit was made, that was only recently made a thing.
I say this every time. For us younger folks who watched 4-6 then 1-3 it made way more sense for us to have Hayden Christensen at the end. It makes it sad, and feel as though it's gone full circle. For those that don't like the changes...just don't buy them? Yeah idk why people complain so much when they can just not buy/watch those editions. I like to change it up sometimes so I have 3 different editions but I don't see why people moan so over changes that are easily avoidable.
I don’t mind the “No” honestly. Both versions are fine with me.
I actually like the wampa special edition scenes... wouldn't have put that in dishonorable mentions myself.
Watch the Star Wars Despecialized Editions. They are a Blu-Ray quality, perfect recreation of the original trilogy, by a huge fan community effort. Jeremy Jahns just did a video talking about them. Look up the Despecialized Editions on CZcams.

+Happy Accident Productions Thanks man! Will check them out!
do you have links to the films?
Bless you
one question are the visual enhancements are still there that's one thing I liked about the special editions
#1, How could Greedo Miss at that Distance!? Seriously.....
It was most likely a warning shot just meant to scare Han, nothing else. Jabba still trusted Han at that time, he only wanted to get his money back. I highly doubt Jabba would have allowed one of his bounty hunters to kill Han.
It's like Greedo had a death wish or something
Maclunkey.
Because he was shot. Without "Han shot first" it makes no sense.
Greedo hangs out with the stormtroopers. Lol.
what about the special edition about the droid attack on the wookies?
Darth Vader's NOOOO absolutely ruins one of my favorite Star Wars scenes man unforgivable
Lucas' explanation for making Hayden Christensen the ghost makes no sense. He said it was because "that was the last time Anakan was good" but (1) he was good in death and (2) that's just stupid
Also Younglings
In a way it makes sense that he becomes his young self because no wants to see a burnt limbless force ghost...
Thats why you used to see a healthy old guy instead of a cripple ;)
Well in my opinion it makes completely sense, if you have ever readed the history of General Grievous taking as an example, Grievous had his original biological body completely destroyed after a battle against the Jedi to save his people. The battle was really part of Palpatine plot to make Grievous hate de Jedi, and it worked he has his body entired destroyed but was replaced by a macanicle corpse that holded his organs, but he was unnable to have feelings anymoreand could only focus on his hate for the Jedi. The same occurs with Anakin in a quite different way, as Obi-Wan says, he is not pretty much human anymore being mostly machine, he is still alive and can fight and sense the force, but he is pretty much just a Chell of power that is used by the Emperor to destroy whoever he wants.
Sorry for bad english....
Rafael Rodopoulos Nope, thats not comparable because General Grievous was never able to use the force.
George Lucas would rewrite "Titanic" so that the boat doesn't sink.
No, in his version, the iceberg would sink first.
Nah mates, he would put lizards on the boat and add a musical sequence with Hayden.
Wabbit Twacks Ship not boat.
The iceberg would be CGI.
Drake Turcotte that’s the joke
Am I the only one who likes the newer pit more than the original? I don’t see any comments about it.
KiranIsDumb I also like the newer pit. It fits so well with it
I definitely like the design of the new pit better but the CGI seems VERY low quality so I can't say I prefer the new one necessarily.
We need a despecialized version with HD video and sound but without those added scenes and CGI. Who's with me?
Some of these aren't even that bad, too much complaining
Right? The wampa was great, changing voices and tweaking faces for consistency is fine, too.
I was 13 and at an advanced screening for IV and people loved it at the time.
So you like the NOOOOOOOO at the end of Reuters of the Jedi.
That no should not be there. Also the voice change for Boba Fett is a logical one in universe since Boba is a clone of his father, so I'm pretty sure he would sound like him when grown up.
I thought boba was fine, the wampa was fine, the song was eh not a big deal, the rest were god awful though.
And adding jaba in was fine too. And these dumbasses don't realize there is more than one of greedo's speecies? People saying why is Greedo in that seen. He's not he's dead could be the same type of alien though
JD Lau So two Rodians that look exactly the same?
Actually stormtroopers are not clones. Clones were phase out within the first year if the empires reign. By the empire strikes back, there were no more clone stormtroopers because of their accelerated aging

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
RaggleFraggle! There's nothing wrong with adding a little extra to polish the movie. Would you rather keep the original VHS version than watch it in 1080p HD?
Karl Hiramanek
Sometimes watching an old vhs is more enjoyable. E.g. Laurel & Hardy always seem better in black & white. The changes in Star Wars add nothing to the experience, only cause confusion between different age groups.
RaggleFraggle! of course not, because who would want them to make any major changes? Like you said, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. All they do is make small tweaks that improve the overall look of the movie. Personally I have no problem with old school tv and movies, I still find the original 1977 Star Wars to look unbelievably good. At the same time, I don't deny that the 2011 special edition makes it look even better.
+Karl Hiramanek, but the parade of CG characters in A New Hope and Greedo shooting first was completely uncalled for and definatelly both detremented from the movie and confused me
10:41 Boba Fett looks at the audience like he’s saying “Yeah, they added me into this scene, deal with it.”
Having Sebastian Shaw as Anakin's Force Ghost makes sense from when Return Of The Jedi Originally came out, because at the Time we technically wouldn't of known who Anakin was, but it makes a lot more sense to have his Force Ghost to be replaced as Hayden Christensen in the Remake of Episode 6 in continuity from Episode 3, because the Force Ghosts resemble the exact Face of what a Jedi last looked like before they died and that was what Anakin last looked like before he came Darth Vader
Even back then, Shaw didn't make any sense. It had already been established in ep. IV and VI that Anakin was very young when he turned to the dark side, still a novice, and that it happened not long before the twins were born. Seeing as Luke and Leia are in their early 20s in ROTJ, there's no way Anakin/Vader could have been older than 45-50 tops when he died. That's why having a 78-year-old grandpa as Anakin's Force Ghost never made sense.
Full Wompa was great. You mouth madness.
The worst part about all these changes is that I didn't even realize a lot of them. The special edition is the version I grew up with. Lucas effectively erased the original version for a lot of younger people.
Okana Adonis yep
Yeah theres loads of changes that are good. But not having the choice isn't right.
I wish we could just have a remastered version of the original trilogy. Nothing changed, just a crisper picture. That's all we want.
